Found this course recently. Played here twice in two weeks. This is one of the nicest courses in Southern Cal. It isn't long, but requires you to think your way through the course. Is forgiving on wayward drives as long as the big banana doesn't appear. Grass range with unlimited balls, decent putting area, but did not see a chipping area. Great track.

PS: the San Diego resident rate is available to Orange/Riverside residents as well.

Beautiful course with great views is in great condition. Pricey, but playable at twilight during the week or with a player's club member.

Played 6/25/05. Course is in good shape. Greens were firm but not terribly quick. Fairways have rebounded from rains although there still remain some drainage issues on the backside. Customer service is very good, practice facility has grass driving range, full chipping area and unlimited range balls. Use a coupon since the published price is too steep for the track.

Played here on 3/20/05. Course has taken a beating after recent heavy rains but has not suffered noticeable damage except for cart path between 16-17. This is an enjoyable lay-out and there aren't that many golfers even on a Saturday during peak. What up? Greens are soft and in pretty fair shape. Fairways are always pretty, but the ball plays fair.

Played here on March 5, 2005 after not playing course since it opened. The course has matured nicely. I was not impressed with the fairways and the greens were rock hard. Plays like a links course so aim at the front of the green and the ball will run (and run and run). Service is great and the course is a good value for So. County.

Played here 2/27/05 in Soutland Golf tourney. Good group of guys running the tournament and fun was had by all. Course was in very good condition, fairways were exceptional given rains and greens were medium firm and medium fast - w/o bumps. This is a great lay-out but you need to bring at least your B+ game if you are going to score.

Played here 2/26/05. Rains had slowed play throughout the region, resulting in exceptionally nice fairways. Greens were pretty, but soft and medium slow - becoming bumpy due to foot traffic. This is a nice lay-out, a nice facility and very nice staff.

This is one of my local favorites. Good variety of holes. Greens are fair. Price is reasonable especially if you get the Golf Digest or Paul's Golf Destination 2 for 1 deal. It has one of the best practice areas in the region and is definetly a must-play in the Corona area. Recent rains closed the back for a short time, but the damage appears limited to cart path areas and did not damage the course.

Played 2/3/05 in the wind as in 40 mph. This course has a great lay-out. The rains have greened everything up and the course is in great shape. The greens were medium fast and fair. Good practice area makes the course a good place to practice as well. One piece of advise, if the wind is blowing where you are understand that this course is experiencing gale force winds as are Empire Lakes, Sierra Lakes and all courses off the I-10/60 Freeways.

Played here 1/15/05. Course was in great shape after the rains and the greens were smooth but a little slow. Due to damage to other local courses and frost delay, the Saturday round played like a muni with a wait on each shot. Otherwise, great course.

Played 1/19/05. Course is in great shape in spite of the rain. Fairways were firm and drives were longer. Greens were firm and in great shape. Some rain damage on the backside, but otherwise, course was super.

I hit the Lotto and decided to spend most of it at Pelican. Great lay-out, great staff, greens were excellent. Pretty golf course. Finished in 3.5 hours. IMHO, this is the nicest public course in So. Cal. With respect to the green fees, they have an annual card for $500 that allows 4 to play at twilight rates of $60/week and $70/weekend. Get 3 of your buddies to go in $125 each and get a card for the group. It may be the only way to play the course at a reasonable $$.
