Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!simply a great course in terms of design and not hiding what has to be done. kept in great shape from greens to fairways. very slow on weekends but during the week fairly wide open and fun to play but very difficult from back. wind is always a factor in PM but usually manageable.
very good condition, tough rough, most of difficulty is in length. flat, linksy, plains-style course. it seems very corporate, somehow. not really a players course yet somewhat difficult. maybe time will round it out but there were some very good holes and very few mediocre. a couple of silly hazards stuck where course knowledge is essential. complete clubhouse selection and restauant. when i played the pace was good, then slow, then stopped. many golfers playing from wrong tees or confused by line of sight issues because some tee shots are very difficult to figure (no gps) where to aim and trouble awaits a bad shot though the fairways are generous.
good condition, great location, fun but not very challenging course. look for specials and the play is definitely worth it. some course knowledge required on blind or unexpected shots but overall straightforward.
quality design, decent length, some difficulty from back requiring good shots. overall this is a very good course, very inexpensive but in the middle of nowhere. fairways are definitely not manicured but do not give you horrible lies even with frequent dead or rough spots. kind of thin fairways but expected for desert conditions. sand was invaded with weeds but also crusted from heat and difficult to play. clubhouse essentially just a counter with few items but apparent this is run by someone who loves golf. little kitchen with decent food.
bare bones, inexpensive, good golf overall.
bare bones, inexpensive, good golf overall.
fairway grass is completely shot with no positive prospect of improvement in near term. no sand in many traps. some tee boxes absolutely unplayable. greens ok. the only saving grace is that it is a decently designed golf course. customer service on the phone was miserable, nothing helpful on the course. interminable playing time (5.5 hours on a thursday with pre-9 am start). overall extremely disappointing, not something to rush to again unless fantastic deal and course has been rehabilitated.
good driving range, helpful marshall. many holes look like ones you just played. very good condition, open fairways, no surprises but will punish lack of execution.
beautiful condition, very pleasant valley setting with the well-off sitting on the mountain around you. only real problem was needing local knowledge on how to approach the greens to get your ball to stick. hit it straight on or not take the right angle and your ball is moving on. not a problem on drives, it is pretty clear where to go.
nonexistent assistance anywhere, kind of friendly but you are on your own for any kind of direction. the course is in good shape with the exception of the back tee boxes. i have never played a course where there was so much actual swing interference standing on the tee, including plants hitting the backswing, impossible angles out to the fairway to avoid trees and visual blocks to the fairway.
