We again returned here again in August 2009, and we stayed again in the Residence Inn next door, and this time since the Victoria Lakes course is already open, I played it, since I played the Vineyard course already. The Victoria Lakes course is a much more challenging layout, and since it is much newer, the fairways, tee boxes, and greens are pretty well maintained, and again like the Vineyard course, they mark all the bare spots, so you can take a free drop if you land there. The terrain of the course is much more hillier than the Vineyard, and there is also a good amount of water on the whole course. The highlight of this course is the 15th, where you tee it up from an elevated tee boxes, and it is a long par 4, which is a double dogleg, and there are lakes on both sides of the fairway. The first two holes, and the last two holes of this course (Holes 1, 2, 17, 18) are originally part of the original Vineyard course, while the rest of the holes in the course are all new. The clubhouse in River Ridge is pretty nice and modern, it's an open air clubhouse in the hall in the middle, and the pro shop is pretty specious, the merchandise and equipment are presented nicely. I would recommend this golf course especially golfers from LA, this is the perfect place you can just go for a short golf getaway, and stay and play.

We first came here in August 2008, since we stayed at the Residence Inn next door, and during this time, it was only the Vineyard 18 that was open, I just came about 2 weeks before the Victoria Lakes 18 was going to first open. Then the next day played the Vineyard course, and it is a great challenging layout, the fairways are decently maintained, there is some patches on the fairway, but they mark all of the bare spots, so if you land there, you can take a free drop. The tee boxes and greens are pretty well kept. There is a good amount of water on the back 9, where on the 18 hole, it is an island green par 3 hole. Holes 3-6, on the Vineyard course are all new holes, and on holes 5 and 6, it provides a great view of Oxnard, where you can even see the 101 freeway from.

Alhambra Golf Course: This is my favorite course. This course is like the shortest regulation course in the world. It is a Par 70 measuring 5,212 yards from the blue tees. It is mostly an easy course for good golfers, and it is a good course for beginners that want to play a regulation course, and some holes are challanging, and a fun course for everyone. The course is mostly narrow, but the course is short with bunkers in all of the holes, with 2 lakes. The couse is well decently maintained, better than other courses The front nine is flat, a Par 36. The back nine is mostly hilly and challanging, a Par 34. It is $24 on weekends/holidays, and $19 on the weekdays with $12 for a cart $15 twlight, $8 super-twlight, and $1 junior rate everyday, all day, and a pull cart rental is $6 with a $1 deposit.

Arcadia Par 3 Golf Course & Practice Center

The Arcadia Golf Course & Practice Center is a facility operated by American Golf. It has an 18-Hole Par 3 Golf Course, Driving Range, and a practice Putting Green where you can also chip to, and the whole facility is night lighted even the whole 18-Hole Golf Course. The Driving Range is night lighted with a some shaded stalls, this range uses all turf, the range ground is all turf with target color markers, and the range uses mats, and plays hit songs in the clubhouse, putting green, and driving range area. It is operated by American Golf so it uses it's range cards, you can get 75 Balls with a $6 range card, 125 balls with a $10 range card, 250 balls with a $20 range card, and $50 and $100 range cards are also available which are also valid in other American Golf operated golf courses driving ranges. The Par 3 18-Hole Golf Course is good for beginners, and good for yout short game for advanced players. The course is well decently maintained but when I played there some of the fairways were soggy especially by the green, and you tee off mats on this course. It is $15 on weekend/holidays, $12 on weekdays, and carts are also available for about $10.

Santa Anita Golf Course is an LA County Course. Green fees are $30 on weekends, $23 on weekdays walking, and $9 on weekends, and $5 on weekdays for juniors, and around $12 for a cart.
The course also has a driving range, and a practice putting green which is $8.50 for a large bucket of balls. The range is a mat driving range which can get crowded at times.
The golf course is a Par 71, 6300 Yards from the Blue Tees, with mostly flat greens and slopey, hilly, undulating fairways. The course has some long Par 3's like one that is over 200 yards, and one that is around 190 yards. The couse is well maintained, and the fairways are really maintained, and this is one of the well maintained courses I've played so far, and one of the most well maintained courses operated by LA County.

Whiitier Narrows Golf Course: This is a 27 hole golf course, and you pick which one you want to play, the river, pine, and mountain. The river is a hard long course, and it's the longest in the course, The mountain is a short course, with small greens, and The Pine is also long with new greens on the holes across the creek. The river and pine course has decent maintained fairways at times, and bad at times, but the mountain course has bad fairways. The greens on the river and mountain courses have decent small greens, and the pine course has new greens which are real good, and new bunkers. The course is operated by LA Country, and the green fees is $30 on weekend/holidays, $25 on weekdays, $19 twlight, $12 for a cart, $9 for juniors on weekend/holidays, and $5 on weekdays.

Altadena Golf Course is a Par 35 9 Hole Regulation Golf Course operated by LA County and managed by DC Golf. The course is mostly flat and a short course with some long Par 4 holes with wide and straight fairways in the course, and it measures almost 3000 yards off the blue tees. The driving range mostly uses grass most of the time, but most of the time, the grass in the range is poorly maintained, and some tees are mostly all dirt you are hitting off of, it is $8 for a large bucket, also the course has a practice chipping green, a large putting green, and a practice bunker seperated from the chipping and putting green. The green fees are $16 on weekend/holidays, $14 on weekdays, $12 twlight, around $7 for a cart, and $5 for juniors. It is a fun course for everyone, it will give experience for a beginner to play a regulation long course, and a practice from the challanging regulation courses for adavanced players. The course is decently maintained, but when I played there, all the greens were just newly aerated, but the fairways are acually pretty good when I played there, but most of the time, the course is poorly maintained with the fairways bad, and some of the greens poorly maintained, but some of them are really slopey.
