Typical municipal conditions, not the worst, but not the best. Greens were chewed up and poor. Tons of un-repaired ball marks.

Played through a Korean twosome that did not want me to join up with them, then caught the next twosome on the sixth and played with them. Got stuck behind another Korean foursome that ground the pace of play down for the rest of the day and refused to let us play through. Rude. What could have been a three hour round turned into four. Waiting on every shot, every hole.

Course itself is bland and uninteresting. Semi-wide fairways. No water - drinking or hazard, not a lot of sand. Nice snack bar on 8th hole with plenty of beer and drink choices. Schlitz Beer in a can!!! Wow.

Staff okay, Starter kind of a wiseguy. No Marshals seen all day. Overall, I probably won't be back - I'd rather play Penmar twice or Woodley Lakes, I like them both better.

Played July 4th. A holiday rate of $53 with a cart. Not worth the cost. Greens rolled OK but somewhat inconsistent. Tee to green the course is what you'd expect from an L.A. city muni. Beat. The rough was brutal at easily over 6 inches in many areas. Snack bar closed, and why not? Both courses were packed & it is in the 90's. Who needs fluids?

Decent muni golf conditions throughout - tees are a bit wobbly in places but plenty of grass so no problem finding a good flat lie to hit from. Fairways are lush and healthy - in fact, the kikuya is thick enough to create a few slight flyer lies - needs a wee trim perhaps. Also not much run out as a result. Rough is very healthy and those big wide blades of grass will certainly get your attention. Sand is pretty thin but there's not much of it on this course so it's not that big of a deal.

Greens are very lush and pretty decent really for a muni. Bumpy at times, if you at least give the ball a good rap it tends to go more or less on line - holed a number of decent length putts. Don't think they were as fuzzy as I recall them being either, although they were VERY soft - so much so that your knuckles made indentations just pushing the turf while using my pitch marker tool.

Best thing about the course - EMPTY! On a weekday afternoon in high summer this used to be unheard of here. Probably saw no more than a dozen or so groups scattered around the course and met no resistance until the last few holes. Walked 18 in exactly 3 hours. This in spite of the fact that they got all new carts last week so that problem is solved - still, the punters are staying away for some reason. Long may it continue!

Played 3/5 for a practice round before the SCGA qualifier next week. Really slow play - almost 6 hours. The course was in typical condition of Griffith Park. Lots of bare spots in the rough areas. So if you misseed a fairway, it was hit or miss as to what kind of a lie you would have. Greens were rolling pretty well for the most part. Bunkers OK if you weren't in unraked footprints. I feel sorry for the crew that will have to mark ground under repair for the tournament. Hope the bring enough spray paint. Maybe they should just say the entire course is GUR. :-)

Quite a number of areas remain "under repair" as a result of the recent rains. Also noticed they lost a few trees. Course was not in as good condition as the last time I played there, greens a bit bumpy and the traps were very "thin" Staff was perfect and pace of play being first off was as expected - well under 3 hours.

Played here on Saturday 2/5/11...I had an 8:18 single tee time, checked in around 7:30 and the starter sent me out early! Pace of play was great...tee'd off at 8 and finished at 12:30. Wide tree lined fairways were in great shape and greens were smooth with a nice true roll. This was my first time playing Harding, I played with 3 regulars that made it a very enjoyable round. I will definitely play here again!!

We played the day after Thanksgiving (11/26) with a tee time around 8:30 am. We ended up teeing off about 15 minutes late. Being a holiday, it took us just under 5 hours to play 18. Course was real busy today. I rode today and my golf cart seems like it was ready to fall apart.

Course conditions were decent for a November. Tee boxes and fairways were fair with bare spots here and there. In addition, fairways were thin in spots. Fairways had good coverage for this time of year. I was glad the greens on Harding were not punched. Greens were in good shape with the occasional unrepaired ball marks here and there. Bunkers seemed a little on the packed/firm side. Bunkers probably got firm with the recent rains and freezing cold weather.

Love playing at Harding. It's a more technical course to play than Harding. In addition, it's a little easier to get a tee time for Harding than Wilson.

Had a boring Saturday so I decided to make it a fun Sunday by going goilfing. Called Hansen Dam at 8am but it was booked solid until 11:30 so I called Harding (as a single player). The guy said I will have no problem if I get there by 9:45. I showed up around 9 and actually got to play by myself 5 minutes later. The course was pretty dead. It was overcast and misting lightly but $40 to walk by yourself and hit 2-3 balls per hole was a good deal. The starter said that since the $5 rake hike in July the place has had about 30% less business which I like because I can finally play here under 6 hours.

The tee boxes are standard for LA courses, not perfect but level at the very least. Fairways were in good shape despite the really wet ground (not Harding's fault). The blues and white tees are practically the same here so I played blues. Greens had a lot of unrepaired divots but luckily none in my way. I have fun at this course whenever I play and today was true. The course is just average but for a sunday golfer that is all I need (not going pro until next season).

This is the fourth time I've played here since the July 1st rate increase and each time the starter said the magic words...."Would you like to tee off a little early?". I've always known the Griffith Park courses for late starts, over crowding and 5-1/2+ hour rounds on the weekends. I can honestly say the place has fewer golfers on the weekends with the rate increase and a round plays under 5 hours...almost seem strange to me
