Played in a Saturday morning tournament (7/22). Conditions were hot and humid. Fairways and greens are showing wear from the summer weather, with some brown / dirt areas. Around noontime, the greenskeepers actually watered the greens on a couple of holes in front of us. Tee boxes are showing some wear as well. The unpredictable kikuyu rough has been thankfully cut low. They did have two beverage carts going around the course, which was appreciated under the hot conditions.

I had forgotten just how long the Ike plays. The four par 4s over 400 yards from the white tees really challenged the high handicappers in our tournament. Customer service is excellent, giving a resort feel to the course. Industry Hills remains a gem in the San Gabriel Valley, hopefully we get some milder weather to help it out.

It's taken a few months to get back out to the Ike, glad I did. Course is still in very good to excellent condition overall. Fairways are beginning to show the effects of recent heat and are browning in some areas along with a few patches along some greenside aprons, but it's minimal. For the most part it's full and lush Kikuyu ... but watch out for divots galore in the common landing areas (like #2). Lot's of watering going on so soggy comes into play if you go out early. Greens are getting a high rating, rolled smooth and quick today with very few ball marks (nice to see). A pleasure to putt on. I was in several bunkers: nicely conditioned with good cover. Rough was cut relatively short for IH standards so easy to play from, too. Gets thin the farther from the fairway you hit it. Can't find much to complain about ... except the price. Mega Monday still in effect ($60 I believe) and twilight rate is a good deal. Otherwise, it's a C-note on the weekend to tee it up here. Still recommended.

Played the Ike today in a club tourney, C-note entry. Course extremely green and a bit soggy in some areas, but tee-to-green very full and what we would expect of IH. Greens were in great shape, bunkers were perfect sand although thin in some spots. Rough deep and a challenge to play out of, so stay in the short stuff or else. Played CPO so PoP was over 5 hrs. Qualifier tomorrow for the Genesis so it should be a good challenge for the guys trying to get in. Time to get out and play this course, it's back to where it should be as a high-end public venue.

Played Tues 11/22 as guest of Men's club members, about 7 foursomes played. As noted by a previous review the course was in need of TLC, and as noted by GK it was closed for a short time for maintenance. I have never experienced bad customer service so I can't comment about someone experiencing otherwise.

The course - The over-seeding has taken hold in a big way, the rough was tough for me to play out of, others found similar troubles. the fairways were somewhat lush with very few thin spots, due to the rains on that previous Sunday and some watering going on there was not much roll, but decent lies. The greens were being cut and rolled as we played making for some fast rolls, but held shots with spin (which I don't do well :( ). The bunkers were damp and heavy making for some troubles on getting out, for me and one of my buddies.
POP was a slow 5hr due to cart paths only, and many of the players having issues on hitting good shots.

All in all had a great time as usual, our team won 1st place team for enough to pay for drinks.

Played here last Monday for their $60 special. I've always loved playing here, but after Monday, not so much. Starting with the three guys in the pro shop, such a sense of arrogance and entitlement. They were more concerned about gossiping about a supervisor. But to the course, the fairways were so thin that the lies were better in the rough. The greens looked okay but we're very slow and bumpy. There was also a lot of patches on greens and the fairways that made the course look like any $30 Municipal course. Industry Hills has always promoted a higher image of themselves....on this day they fell down.

Buddies and I capped off a three day golf fest @ the Ike taking advantage of the mega monday rate ($60) which really really puts the rates charged by some very average courses (cough long beach cough) into sharp perspective. We went out early as a 4some & cruised through our round w/o rushing at all in under 4...despite each of us struggling at different points of the round. Only downside of going out early is that they're getting the course nice and watered for the rest of the day so you won't get much rollout on the fairways and the greens are slow. The lack of roll makes it especially challenging if you're not long off the tee based on the length of the course. The length and uphill climbs to the green mean you'll be hitting a lot of 6 - 4 irons into the green instead of short clubs. Consistent 3 wood off the deck is a great tool to have in the bag on this course. With all the length and elevation changes, you do get a ton of very picturesque tee shots, and the early a.m. water keeps the course in great shape. Every part of the course (fairway, rough, greens, etc) was exactly as it should be. Really a treat to play at the $60 rate. On the customer service side, the starter is a really good/funny guy who keeps groups going out at the right pace and I saw a marshal (or more than one) patrolling the grounds at a few different points of the round. Friendly staff @ the snack shop (good chorizo breakfast burrito) and the driving range. Oddly, the pro shop guys (have seen various ones on diff occasions) are always pretty rude but not a huge deal.

The course it self has a lot of up and down fairways and remind me of Malibu Country Club (now closed).

Played with some good pals this week on IKE, early tee time to try to beat the heat but the course was soaked understandably and as it warmed up the moisture came up and hit us like a wet sponge, little breeze kicked in about the 8th hole and made the rest of the morning pleasant. Tee boxes were ok, some areas were uneven or soaked, as were the fairways being very wet in some areas, greens were terribly slow and bumpy at times. Bunkers were full and I was only in one all day but it led to a quadruple bogey, my oly bad hole on the day :-( I grew up in Hacienda Heights so I have a fondness for Industry Hills but it will humble you if you are not hitting your driver or irons straight. Great friendly staff, kudos to Tim in the cart barn as He always greets you with a happy smile and cheery greeting. He is a keeper. Good day on The IKE.

Played on Monday deal of $60.00 on the Ike course. First, the customer service was very good. One of our foursome had to bail at the last minute and the course could have charged us for him but didn't.
On the golf. Even at $60.00 you can find a better deal. The greens are extremely slow. I don't even think they got around to mowing the 10 and 11 greens. They were even slower. You can tell the course gets a lot of play. Many ball marks on the greens. The pace of play was a little over 5 hours. I know people every once in awhile want to test themselves on a real challenging course and this place has always fit the bill. I shot 12 strokes over my handicap, but I anticipated that. The sand was pretty consistent but the fairways gave no roll due to wetness. Right now during the hot sticky summer months, I know it's a real dilemma for greens keepers to keep the courses in the type of conditions golfers want to play. I think I'll work on my game a little more and maybe come back in the spring for another try.
