Played this morning in 3 hours. Very few golfers, most likely due to the light rain that was blowing through (but added nicely to the course). Fairways and tee boxes are still in good shape, though # 12 tee box could use some help. But the greens, which have been so good for quite some time, are hit and miss. There are some that are still in good shape but many of them have lots of divot damage, that has not healed (if affects your putting) and just general damage from the heat and not enough water. At this time I would give the course a B- rating and expect improvement as we head into Oct.

Played today in 4 hours. Course is in great shape from tee box - fairway - green. No bunkers but my playing partners had no complaints. Greens a little firmer than last week, but held shots well and putted very true. Customer service was top notch, starting with the coffee shop which opened right @ 5 (thank you Stephanie) and had food ready in 10 minutes; pro shop was fast (thanks Steve) and players in front of us moved swiftly (thanks) and fixed divots (big thanks). This course is run right and efficiently. Thanks for not being run by American Golf.

Joined some friends this morning for an early round. Had not played here since end of last year when much of the work was being done. POP was 3.5 hours. Course is (as many have said) in very good condition. Clean lies in all fairways; rough was acceptable; new sand in bunkers; level clean tee boxes; great greens that held shots and rolled true. Loved the new design of # 12 and # 17 (both par 3's). Great course to walk and enjoy a good round of golf with friends. I really enjoyed what the new management group (they also manage Eagle Glen) and Casey O'Callahan the architect have done with Los Amigos. They have taken an older and worn out course and put some new life into it. I would highly recommend this course.

Played Los Amigos for the first time Saturday 8-2. Was anticipating a really great experience and was not disappointed. I had heard the Course was is disrepair about 3 years ago and was taken over by a management group, well they did a fantastic job on everything from the Course conditions, the Pro shop, the bathrooms and overall quality of the grounds. As for the Golf Course itself, loved the combination of doglegs, short holes and challenging par 4's. Am looking forward to playing there again very soon. BTW would choose Los Amigos over Rio Hondo anyday.

For those of you who know me, this used to be one of favorite courses. It has always had good bones and character that a lot of the longer courses have but seem gimmicky. This course was a pleasure to play. It's a short course but makes you use every club in your bag. The course has undergone some improvement. A lot of the old landing spots have been replaced with bunkers tightening the landing area. The turf is lush with good coverage. Even the greens are completely different from what I remember. I mean this course is in GREAT shape tee to green.

Scorecard has been updated. Used to be a 70 par now it's 71. Hole 9 was lengthened a little to become a short par 4. You can try to bomb the ball past the bunkers that protect it but it's definitely a risk/reward scenario for the average golfer like myself.

Greens are perhaps the best I have seen on this course, period. They feel soft underfoot but roll true. The greens have good undulation so take a look at your ball from either side to get a good feel for the green. Fairways like I said earlier have good coverage. Lies may be on the thin side but very playable for this time of the year. Rough has been cut short as well and not as penalizing as you would think. Still the rough will take a lot out of your ball so stay away. Sand in the bunkers are white sandy beaches. If you don't mind the beach you won't mind hitting out of this fluffy white stuff.

Pace of play-- OK. We were a twosome stuck behind a foursome. They were two holes behind the group in front of them. One thing I should say about the greens and bunkers though is FIX your divots and RAKE your bunkers. For the love of Pete folks take care of your course. It took a year and a half to bring this course from life support and to have the lot of you NOT take care of this, shame on you.

Facilities have also been updated. Cafe is redesigned and seats large groups comfortably. Their bar is also updated as the banquet room as well. There was a copyright conference there and the facility shines.

Hats off to the staff and maintenance crew. You guys have done a heck of a job and dare I say give Rio Hondo a run for their money. At $18 to walk at twilight it's a deal especially with the long summer days. We finished with plenty of light teeing off at around 3pm.

One thing to mention is the practice area. Wowzers. Two chipping areas; one with a small bunker. Two large putting areas, and a range with a grass hitting area. Everything here seems a lot more inviting I also noticed a lot more business here.

My advice if you are questioning whether to play here or not. Do! You won't be disappointed. Now take that Golf Advisor, one more thing we the community here at Greenskeeper.org know that you don't.

Play this course at least 3-times a mo. since the upgrade of the course. The course is in excellent condition. Big improvement from several years earlier.

Played on Tues 6/24 7:30 tee time, got out on schedule. Men's club was getting organized to go out but our tee time was ahead of them so no problem. Got there early for they're brkfst sandwich, great deal on Ham/eggs under $6.

There were players on most of the holes, 4s and 5s when I drove up so I was expecting a slow play day. NOT so, we finished in 4 hrs. Course was still in very good shape from when we last played there about a month ago. Tee boxes are OK, not perfect but can find a spot to tee it up. Fairways were being mowed so they were running good, there were a few spots that looked dormant or had been cut too low. Rough was not too punishing. Greens were lush, not too firm, held shots very well. Too many unfixed ball marks from previous rounds, won't preach to the choir. They were a bit slow, and bumpy. Bunkers had decent sand, couple had un-raked footprints.

19th hole was great. Cold pitcher of Stella was decent price, order of nachos with carne asada was tasty and under $4, YES, under $4. That was a pleasant surprise. All in all a very pleasant golf day.

Keep it in the short stuff!

The greens are horrible, slow bumpy and more ball marks than I could count or fix. It is a nice track and they have made it better but.....its time to ban 5-somes and enforce ready golf. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE 5-6 HOURS TO PLAY A ROUND OPF GOLF!

Played in a tournament today teeing off about 10:00. Played in about 4.5 hrs. I have not played here for about 10 years. I was impressed by the conditioning. I saw very few bare spots in the fairway. The rough was more spotty, usually lush but dry in some areas. I was only in one bunker (18) and the ball plugged in what looked like new sand. The greens were good. Not especially fast, medium at best, and pretty soft. They did roll true though. Some of the pin positions were tough. I did not recall the greens being that sloped. The service was okay. We only saw the cart lady once although others saw her more. The barbecue guy was MIA when we made the turn. Meanwhile the coffee shop and bar were clean and pleasant.
