Conditions have been improved. Put into perspective and based on my previous experience this course is moving in the right direction.

Yes they are improving the facilities. Even the pro shop had a face lift. Golfing conditions have improved considerably. I think I wrote my last review of the course around 4-5 months ago. Back then conditions were intolerable. Wouldn't spend a dime on the course. Now the greens are typical muni but they roll fairly true I expect conditions to only get better. There are still a few bare spots on a few greens and number 9 still has a temporary green but you can tell just by walking on the greens they look healthy.

Fairways are a little thin but playable. Sand in bunkers need improvement they are hard packed with little or no sand. Tee boxes are relatively flat; and are rotated regularly.

Based on the current playing conditions I would consider putting this course back on my regular playing list. I am pleased with the current management's efforts to improve the golf course and its facilities. So yes I would consider playing here again!

Played here today during the GK west match pay round two with Ringworld. I hadn't payed here in a number of years, but last time I played here the course was a mess and I wasn't expecting much. I was happy with the way the course is improving. Though they have a long way to go, you get the feeling that they will get there. This is a county muni and does get a decent amount of play. The course is by no means a long course, but it has a lot of character, especially the back nine. Clubhouse- the clubhouse is getting an indoor makeover and is going to be nice when done. The girl behind the counter was very friendly, she definitely ade the pace a little brighter. Tee boxes- a little chewed up, playable, but could use some work. Fairways- also could use work, but again playable. Once spring hits, I think they will be nice. Rough- normal muni rough, sometimes thick, sometimes thin. The trees on this course don't allow a lot of sun to breakthrough, so the grass will never be real consistent here. Sand- was in a few bunkers today, at the beginning of the round the sand was still wet from the rains we had over the last few days, by the end of the round you could tell that work had been done in the bunkers and were very playable. A little thin and amp, but not bad at all. Greens- the biggest improvement on the course. I was very surprised, very very few bad spots on the greens. I was actually surprised at the lack of all marks on the greens. The greens ran at about a medium speed. Bythe end of the round they had become a little bumpy and coud effect a not well struck putt. The ninth green is a temporary green with the largest hole I have ever seen, really hard to miss (yes I missed a 5 footer). There was a sign at the front counter letting golfers know of the temp green. The practice green is in great shape and is what you will find on the course. One of the practice greens has been cut up and was used to repair greens on the course. Pace of play on the course was good, 4.5-5 hours. For a muni that allows 5's, it played at a comfortable pace. Overall I played like crud, but in no way was it due to the conditions of the course. I'll be back.

Played today 1/23 wed. at 8:10 am. Started a little bit early, the tee boxes and the fairways are ok but the greens were in really good shape except for 9 which is a temporary green. I could see the improvements the new mangement is doing. This is my first time I played here and I'll come back with the improvements they are going to do.

Played out here this afternoon. Was just looking for a cheap, relatively convenient option and they had a GN hot deal here for $27 at 11:48, so it fit the bill. I got out there early and they sent me out right away with another single. We teed off around 11:20. We were stuck behind a steady flow of foursomes and then had some other twosomes that ultimately came up behind us, so it was a lot of "hurry up and wait" play. Seemed a lot slower than it actually was, because we finished right about 4.5 hours.

First time playing here and I didn't expect too much. It's a fun little track and the back nine especially has a number of interesting and challenging holes with water coming into play more and a lot of big doglegs. Very tricky greens with some nice undulation and hard-to-read breaks.

I'd say the course was in average "muni" shape. From tee to green, everything was decent and playable. Not great, but about what you'd expect. I would venture to say the greens have improved somewhat since ringworld's last review. Still some work left to be done, but they are getting there. You can tell they are putting in the effort here. The greens are coming in well with some lush grass, but playing quite shaggy, slow and soft right now. The front nine greens seemed to be in better shape overall compared to the back nine. The back nine greens had a lot of repaired/recently re-sodded patches, but they're coming around slowly. Hole #9 is still playing to a temporary green and it looks like it will be quite awhile before the normal green is back up. Looks like they are rebuilding it from scratch.

For the price I paid, it was worth it.

It pains me to write this review. But allow me to give a few facts to help explain their current conditions.

1. New Management took over Oct 1 2012.
2. The previous management Los Amigos Golf Inc ran this place into the ground. Look it up on google the previous tenant was in arrears for non payment of their lease.
3. Many of the greens are torn up but are in the process of being repaired.
4. The Superintendent previously of Alondra Park, Lakewood and American Golf is the Superintendent here. And He is already making strides to bring this course to its former glory.

Given these little tidbits of information here is my review:
Tees in good shape. Fairways in good shape. Sand is OK; all hard packed. Greens are the trouble here. Greens have recently recovered from aeration but there is still loads of work to complete. Some of the greens have been patched and repaired (like 2, 4, 8 and 9) and they are returning back nicely. 9 is under construction. 8 is being repaired (front edge). 10 is being patched up. 11 is patchy and perhaps on their schedule. You get the idea. Bottom line there is a lot of work needed to be done on the greens here. The list quite honestly is laughable but not impossible given this superintendent's track record and pedigree. It will just unfortunately take time. Given the current situation with our weather he may just pull it off this season. I will come back to see and play.

Now this course holds a special place in my heart. It's a fun course. Has loads of character but the greens here have typically been lacking. I know with the superintendent here they will come back and with a vengeance. Just be patient when you play this course and give him some time he really knows what it will take to get this course literally competing with Rio Hondo for business :D

This place has seen better days! They are deferring a lot of the maintenance around here. I hadn't played here in over 2 years and I remember why. A couple greens are clearly neglected and are just bare ground! If you want to play golf, don't come here! This place isn't even worth the $24.50 green fee. I didn't want to write a review, but a warning. They're under new ownership starting nov/dec and it can't come soon enough...

Played on 7-2-12. I played this course in May of 2012 and said that I was not coming back. Well, some of my golf buddies decided to play here so I came. The course was a LOT better than it was last year. With the exception of the tee box on #3, the tee boxes were pretty good. Fairways and greens were about average. Don't really know about the sand traps as I didn't hit any. They've done a lot of work there compared to last year and it has paid off. I will definitely be back again.

Most amazing thing happened on the 12th tee. While we were waiting I found a metal box on the bench. Thought maybe somebody left it with tees and balls. Opened it up and found a crack pipe and a green leafy substance. Threw it in the trash. Hopefully, it wasn't some golfer's stuff.

Played in the morning, as a single. Starter was helpful and i finished the round in 4 hours. Good layout but short course. Tee box and fairway and greens all good, but greens are slow right now. If the greens were faster the course would be alot more challening but i think it is slow so old people can play faster.
