Played Monday, 1/4. The lack of water is obvious at this course. The fairways are thin to bare. Hard to get a decent lie. The rough was much of the same. Around the greens the grass was decent. The greens putted decent but were a little bumpy. The greens played firm with medium/fast speed. The bunkers were fair to good. The tee boxes are a little unlevel and thin of grass. The course is flat and not very long but has an interesting layout. One big plus for "Dad" Miller is they only allow foursomes. The staff was friendly.

Played Fri Oct 2nd Schedule to play from the blues but was very disappointed because most of the tee boxes, blue, white and red, were at the same place, and these were moved way up. They appeared to be in the same location for awhile because the tee boxes were terrible. The fairways were "ok" I was in 3 bunkers and the sand was good in all of those. The greens were the best part of the course, rolled real nice. This is a short course and with all the tee boxes moved up together this really made for some short holes.

I always like Dad Miller, but today, on a Friday, POP was 5+ hours!!! How can that be? We reported to the marshal several times with nothing done to correct. They are growing out the tee boxes so everything was moved forward. Overall course was in good shape, but POP made completely un-enjoyable today.

Teed off at 6:30 and finished in 4 hours. The course is in overall fair to good condition. The greens for the most part rolled decent at medium pace. A few greens had some small bare spots toward the ... Continue »

Teed off at 6:30 and finished in 4 hours. The course is in overall fair to good condition. The greens for the most part rolled decent at medium pace. A few greens had some small bare spots toward the edges but didn't affect putting around the hole. The fairways were fair to good mostly due to recent punching which turf/dirt plugs in some fairways but didn't affect play much. The rough was mostly good with some bare areas. The bunkers appeared in good condition as I watched a playing partner hit out of several. The tee boxes are fair to good with slight unlevelness.

The course is on the shorter side but has plenty of doglegs, elevated greens, and a natural water channel to negotiate on a few holes to keep it interesting. The driving range and chipping green are directly across the street from the first hole and clubhouse. The practice putting green is large and next to the first tee and clubhouse. For a muni in OC the rates are decent and the course only allows foursomes. There is a cafe/bar next to the clubhouse. The staff was friendly.

Hey there fellow golfers. I played Sad Mi, I mean Dad Miller today, Sunday June 28th. I haven't played here in 10 years. Not much has changed for the better from what I can remember, maybe some of the regulars can notice a difference. The course is fairly short with a of fairways running side by side. It's a pretty flat course with ample trees. A nice course to walk. The course is in decent shape but the greens could be a little quicker just to add more challenge to the place. The number 12 hole, I believe, provided the only challenge because you get to carry a dogleg left across a little ravine. The green fee seemed to be a little much for a course of this type. I'm glad I got an internet deal. If you wanna work on your game and practice different shots without fear of losing a ball then this is the course. Oh, they did have brand new carts. Play well.

Played Saturday 5/2 at 1:30, the course was empty. Got around in 3 hours. Not bad at all! Conditions are really showing the effects of the drought. Tee boxes and rough are still in good shape. The bunkers are hard and crusty. Fairways are running super fast, with quite a few bare spots. They're not rock hard, so the lies are ok, but still could use some help. The greens...ugh. They ARE rock hard, with approach shots barely leaving a mark if at all. They are also very bumpy, and inconsistent speed-wise leaning towards the slow side. It looks like, unless courses start getting creative, this may be the new normal for a while until we get some consistent rainfall.

Teed off on time at 10:00 am on a Friday and finished in 4-1/4 hours. Greens had been aerated about two weeks ago and were still quite bumpy and very, very slow. Course is very flat with a few forced carries, one hole where water comes in to play. Fairways are wide but trees at margins can provide obstacles. Grass is still in good shape despite drought, tee boxes are level and grassy. Sand in traps is pretty thin and hard, chipping off the sand may be better than a conventional explosion shot.
Orange County Golf Trail card made the cost reasonable.

Played her on Presidant Day, 2/15/15. 8:30 tee time and we finish in 4 hours. Good POP that day.
