Played this afternoon at 12:30 and got around in a little less than 4 and a half hours. We would have been around in 4, but there was some clogging on the last three holes. Course was in typical Dad Miller shape which is far from bad when you're only paying 27 bucks. Fairways look and feel like a typical municipal course so they are a bit on the thin side (#15 being very hard and thin)but you're not going to receive any bad lies in the fairway. Rough here is defined as "slightly longer fairway" and is not penal unless you're on top of tree roots. I wasn't in any traps but they are usually pretty hard (except #10 which in soft and fluffy). Most of the tee boxes are fine, but good luck trying to find a level lie with grass on holes 7 and 9. They should probably consider doing some work on those two. The greens were definitely on the slow side and looked like they had not been cut since yesterday with some nice Poa budding going on so they were a bit bumpy as well.
All in all, I've seen the course in better shape. Once they mow, green conditions should be fine.

One thing of note, the green on #10 appears to have something wrong with it as it has become a mottled brown and green. It still rolls like the rest of the greens, but it is not visually pleasing.

Played 4/23 right after the regular Monday skins game. I was out at 11a & was finished at 344p. Pace of play was alright but not the best. Tee to green conditions were really good. Greens were bad though, they punched them several weeks ago but they're still really bumpy! Missed several puts because of all the zig zagging due to the lumps. Greens were also really slow. I'll probably come back in a couple more weeks when they roll the greens.

Course was in bad shape. Greens were good and rolled nice but tee boxes were horrible and so were most of the fairways. pace of play was really bad and waited on every hole because of the opposing fairways. Groups from other holes were on our fairways so always had to wait to tee off. This course is short and that also contributes to the delays. There are several holes under 300 and everyone waits for the green to clear before they tee off. and when they tee off they hit it about 180 yds.. I will not play here again.. I can go on and on..

The course is kept in good condition for a municipal course:

Greens: Are in good condition. Some people need to learn to fix their ball marks. So there are a few too many ball marks for my standards, but not enough to affect the roll.

Rough: The rough was cut down to about 2 inches which makes the rough easy to get of.

Fairways: The fairways were thin in some spots. I saw many divots. I wish people would repair their divots/fill them with sand/seed. You might get unlucky and land in one like I did. I am proud to say I focused on the back of the ball and swung my Cleveland 5 wood Hibore club perfectly and hit a great shot. Overall the fairways are mostly playable.

Tee boxes: Some tee boxes were mowed and some were not which seemed very inconsistent.

CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT: Not sure how this will affect this course, but starting 1/1/2012 the course is getting new management. Some of the staff will not be staying on. This is a bummer since all of the staff from the cafe to the maintenance workers are friendly and very helpful. I will do another review in January and give you an update on the new management.

Played Wednesday morning on 11/23, the day before Thanksgiving. I play with the ladies group on Wednesdays about 1-2 times a month.

The course is kept in good shape for a muni course:

Greens: I found that 2 of the greens still showed some lumpiness from last months maintenance work. It was visual and did not affect the roll of the ball.

Rough: The rough was cut down to about 2 inches which makes the rough easy to get of. 2-3 inches is typical.

Fairways: The fairways are NOT lush country club fairways. They are not cut thin. They have enough grass to be very playable. There are some places where people have not repaired thier divots.

Sand: The sand is light brown so you might think that it is just dirt, but really there is sand.

Tee boxes: One thing that surprised me was that some of the ladies tee boxes were not mowed. Not sure why. Maybe on purpose to help restore them? Or, they just did not get to them yet. Wednesday mornings we usually play with the maintenance crew doing their work around us. I did not see them. Maybe they had the day off before Thanksgiving.

Challenge: It does have a few challenging holes like the redesigned hole #15 par 5. It gets me every time. I am lucky if I finish it with an 8. Some days I feel like John Daly posting a big number ;-) . First you have to hit over a creek and not too left or you will be in the very tall thick grass. If you get in there, good luck finding your ball. It's about 150 from the ladies tees to carry the creek depending where you cross it. For the long hitters off the tee you can carry the creek easily, but then end up in the lake on the other side. The second shot you either go for it over the lake or play it safe out straight or to the left fairway bunker. Make sure you are short of the bunker, but long enough to get over the water. The third shot in to the green should be a short iron or wedge to the green. Don't think about the lake on the right, just focus on the green. Once you are at the green you can breath easier and do a two putt. Or, one putt if you stuck it close to the pin.

Overall: All in all I like playing this course because it is reasonably priced, the staff is great, the course is kept in good shape, and the course is playable for all levels.
All in all a good course to play. Also, I like having the standing tee time with the ladies on Wednesdays. These ladies are very friendly and not overly competitive. It's a friendly round for all.

Played 9/25, had 2:37 tee time but course was empty, starter let us go off at 2:15. Round took just shy of 4 hours, nobody in front or behind so we took our time and enjoyed the round. The pro shop employees, the starter/marshal and Francyne the bartender were awesome! Great customer service today. The course: Tee boxes were mostly uneven and quite a bit beat up in places, especially on the par 3s. The fairways were great, very lush and cut just right, and the rough was great too; played around 4", lush and penal. A lot of punch-out shots from the rough today. Was not in any bunkers, but they looked OK, maybe a bit firm. The greens were atrocious. Usually Dad has great greens, but not today. They were very bumpy, with tons of unfixed ball marks and quite a few bare areas of dirt (usually right in my line). They rolled super slow as well. Some held shots, and some didn't, so very inconsistent. I had a few putts jump 3-5" off the surface. Overall though, I had a great, fun day of golf and will play Dad again in the future.

Some guy brought his 10 year old to the course and the kid was 2 groups behind us he took my taylormade penta ball not 1 time but 2 separate times. His dad refused to acknowledge this even after i repeatedly called them out. I spoke with another group that said the kid took there ball 2 times also. What a joke, the dad was an embarrassment and couldnt keep his kid in the cart.
