Played on 6-5-11. course was in OK shape. some tee boxes were unlevel in several spots but always some nice grass spots to tee off from, fairways were pretty good, not great but just good but very green. greens were average with some bumps. Although... they were rolling a nice speed and my putts seemed to hold their line true to my reads. I really enjoyed playing this course as i do every time i come here. short layout but has many tree lined fairways which can cause trouble if you dont hit them straight. definitely wont burn a hole in your wallet either, reasonably priced

Played as a foursome on 12/28/10 at 8:15am. My first time playing Tiger Woods' high school home course. Right from the beginning the course was backed up due to high number of golf fiends out playing who had been unable to play due to five straight days of rain in SoCal. This was to be expected. The course was saturated and slow. This was to be expected too. The fairways were like the rough because the grounds crews were unable to cut due to heavy saturation. There were many areas on the fairways that were roped off because of standing water due to poor drainage. The rough was like a cornfield in July...HIGH! Still, I loved this course. It's a great course to play to get your confidence back. When the course dries up get ready for a nice layout that doesn't require you drive the ball like a pro to have a chance a birdie every hole!

Played Saturday 10/23 at 10:30. Round lasted a bit over 5 hours, not too good. The pace was fine when we started, but for some reason they stagger-started a bunch of groups throughout the course shortly after we reached the fourth hole. There wasn't a tourney, so I have no idea what was behind this logic. As for the course itself, the tee boxes were recently punched, had many bare areas, and most were not level. Fairways were OK, but somewhat muddy due to the recent rains, with scattered bare areas. Rough was very thick and penal, mostly around 3" but with some patches that were much longer. Greens rolled fast but were somewhat bumpy. Did not see many unrepaired ball marks, which is great! Wasn't in the sand at all, but the bunkers looked soft and well-groomed. Did not see a beverage cart out there. They are aerating the greens tomorrow, but the starter said they should heal up relatively quickly.

This is easy fun course, especially for family activity. The course is in good shape overall, and it is very enjoyable to walk. This course is probably good for beginner and intermediate golfers because of easy course layout. For advanced golfers, this course may be boring. You just need to watch out for the 10th hole because the fairway is narrow. The left side of the fairway is high school and the right side of the fairway is practice range. Of course, if you can hit the ball straight. No Problem!!!
The 12th hole is a left dogleg course and there is a high school baseball ground at the left corner. I see that some golfers (not so good players) try to hit the ball to the left to go shortcut, but if you are not a GOOD long driver hitter, please don’t hit the ball to the left. It is dangerous for high school students.

Played Saturday, 4/24 at 10:15 AM, first group behind the Anaheim City tourney. Pace was somewhat slow due to tournament players taking their time on the greens, finished in 4:45. The greens were outstanding...they were cut and rolled for the tournament and played medium fast and very true. Very few ball marks on the greens, even though they held shots well. Thanks to all who played before us for repairing their ball marks. Fairways were in very good shape, except for quite a few bare areas on the back 9. However, these areas were marked as GUR, which was a nice plus. Tee boxes were a little beat up and some were not level, and the blues were as far back as they could place them, again probably due to the tournament. Rough was decent, somewhat lush but short, not penalizing. Overall a very enjoyable round. They are punching the greens Monday, 4/26.

Played 4/19/10 (at) 10a. They're getting ready to aerate their greens on the 26th or the 27th. They're using small punch holes and they say we won't even notice them (right!). The course played like usual, SLOW! Greens were rolling well and were not fast at all. Some tee boxes were a little uneven, rough almost nonexistant, both were almost the same length. This is a course that you can feel good on since it doesn't play that hard.

I love municipal courses like these, mainly because I can take it easy, but also am able to walk the entire course.

The starter..as always, was really cool and easy going guy. d%mn , how do I get a job like that.

The front 9 is dominated with straight forward, easy access to the greens par 4s from the 1st hole to the 5th, which in my opinion is a great way to start out an afternoon of Christmas golf. :D
The 6th being the longest par 4 on the course leads to an fairly challenging par 3 7th followed by the 8th, which is a tricky par 5, and then you finish the front 9 with a straight out par 3.
The greens on the front 9 are fairly flat, and since it was about 1pm they were dry enough to have a decent and forgiving speed to them.

You'll find the driving range to the right of the 10th tee boxes.

The back nine is far more challenging than the front and I must admit that the fairways 10 through 15 are in pretty crappy condition.
The 10th starts off with a 468 par 5 from the back-tee, which starts off fairly thin on the first 200 yards , then fans out a little wider to the right after that till you get to the green.
The 11th was for me an easy gap-wedge shot par 3; 107 yards to the center of the green.
The 12th hole fairway was the most retarded dogleg left I've ever played. If you can't hit a 200+yard draw accurately, then play smart and lay-up about 170+ yards off the tee. This really only leave you another 150+ to the green.
I wish I thought of that...hehe, I ended up in the river.
13th hole and easy par 3.
The 14th is a wide open dog-leg right, great for those who tend to slice a lot or little.
Then there is the 15th. That hole was the most challenging fairway on the entire course. Even though it is rated the 6th hardest hole on the course, I thought the indistinguishable fairway that dog-legs left, again divided by a river about a 100 yards out, fairway landing blinded by trees on the left and a bunker right besides made the window of landing pretty dicey. Of course I just went for it and hoped that my landing was decent. I was lucky. As you begin to approach the green, the fair way not only tapers, but slant towards the water that covers the whole entire right side. That was a bi-ATCH!!! This hole also has the most difficult green.

Cross the street!

Holes 16 to 18 were back across the street where the fairways were much nicer. Even though 16 was a long par 3 and 18 was the longest par 5 on the course, it was a nice way to end the round with straight forward shooting fairways and easy approaches.

Payed $35 to walk on a Friday. Normally I'd say a cheap round but considering it took over 5 hours to play an under 6000 yard course from the tips, I'd take it back. Tee boxes are the worst I've seen,... Continue »
