I had some concerns as to how the course would handle the recent rains, which were desperately needed. There were some areas which were muddy, but overall, nothing too bad. Most of the fairways were fine, but the thin areas were a bit "iffy". Greens were the best part of the course.

Staff is always great here and very accommodating, using a groupon, price was right. As always, out early so no issues with pace of play. I don't play here very often, because few of the holes on this course are somewhat bizarre. However, there are enough decent holes, coupled with the cost and great customer service to justify an occasional visit.

Played on Monday 11/15 and had a very good time. Course is in about as good shape as I've ever seen it. Greens were very good, on the verge of great. Fairways were also darn good, never had a poor lie, they were a little thin, but played just great. Teeboxes were a little chewed up, but generally found good spots to place the peg. Rough was not too penal. Great customer service, as usual. About the only thing that was poor were the sand traps, they were pretty hard and rocky. Get out there and enjoy it, paid $25 through their website and well worth it.

Played here 11/4 and 11/9 POP right at 3 1/2 on Friday and 4 1/4 today following men's club. Course is in really good shape with fairways having ample grass with good lies overall and good cushion. Rough is ever present along fairways and around greens--has been cut down some but is still a factor providing different lies sometimes sitting up on top or sinking in calling for the right decision and then the execution. There are some outlying bare areas due to residual burrowing animal damage that generally do not come into play.
Greens are medium fast to fast rolling smoothly and true holding well struck shots as well--front pins are still the most challenging with more slope as a definite factor.
Bottoms of most bunkers can be thin and hard packed tending to have better sand and cover on the up slopes. New sand on 6, 13 and 15 that is heavy and presents with a different challenge.
Tees generally have good cover but depending on marker placement have issues with being on down slope or slant due to crowning.
Friendly golfer oriented staff.

10/26 using teeoff deal time with 10% off for a $20 rate o a balmy am, with occasional light breeze and pleasant sunshine. Again a little busy following mens club for about 41/2 hr POP and playing as a 2some we had some waiting but it didnt feel stressful.
Fairways are getting better and better to the point that many areas can be called lush, there are some thin or bare spots that did not come in to play at least for me today. Rough is present along most fairways, definitely impedes forward progress but was generally playable without severe penalty--much thicker and deeper around the greens. Kikuyu grass in front of greens especially on up slopes would stop the ball dead so short shots stayed short.
Was in bunker on 3 thin and hard packed but by closing the face was able to get out to about 12 inches.
Tees generally had good cover except 7--lots of repaired divots--we have seen 1 staff member that goes from tee to tee with sand bucket in hand doing a good job. Some tee markers were placed on the not level part of the box but most were ok.
Greens are really good--completely recovered and verticut 2 days ago--nice roll at medium fast speeds.
Friendly staff eager to provide good care- we were able to get off 45 min before our time and for the 1st 9 really had no one on our heels.

10/12 using teeoff deal time with 25% off $17 on a coolish am--2nd Wed played behind senior mens club for a 4 3/4hr POP. Not much changed since Mon-- greens getting better and healing nicely still on the slow to medium side and front 9s were a little bumpy at times.
Fairways generally have decent grass ans good lies. Some areas of 1-3 inches of rough more so closer to and around the greens. Some patches downright gnarly.
Found 3 bunkers #17 on the left about 12 inches from the lip so sand was deep enough and loose out to about 5 feet missed the putt--#10 2nd on the right rather firm a little hard underneath out to about 6 feet missed the putt--# 13 on the left new fluffy/heavy sand about 6 inched from the front edge so standing out side the bunker about 12-18 below my feet out to within 3 inches made the putt.
Again good customer service friendly and cheerful'

10/10 using $20 teeoff deal time--POP right at 4hr. Fairways generally green good to ok cover-- good lies good cushion. Rough is generally present 1-2 inches impedes forward progress and depending if the ball sits up or sinks down making recovery more difficult. Areas of thicker and juicier around the greens.
Tees ok some crowned but with todays tee placements most were level enough. Boxes had been recently punched but not really a factor
Found 3 bunkers--#3 thin sand hard packed over hard pan--#13 the same--#14 new sand the white moderately heavy thick kind that requires a lot of acceleration to get through--that also shows foot prints which were ample.
Greens punched and sanded 2 weeks ago front 9 slower to recover--rather bumpy and slow-back 9 about 90% recovered less bumpy but still on the slower side.
Good customer service as usual.

9/13 played as a single ahead of a 3some and some distance behind a 2some so got in some short game practice along the way with a 3 3/4 hr POP using teeoff deal time $17 rate. fairways had quite a few GUR marked and varied from ok to really nice--didnt have a bad lie all day. Rough was present and penal costing distance and challenging shot making especially around the greens where 2-3 inches are common. Bunkers are a mixed bag some thin with about 1/2 inch cover over hard pack #4, #7 to firm with good cover #11 to thick and heavy #15--new sand both traps. Tees generally ok to good some par 3s had a lot of filled divots and #4 and 7 are some what crowned.
Greens smooth medium fast and consistent overall==5 and 6 appear to have recovered nicely.
Consistently good friendly golfer oriented customer service.

9/2 using teeoff deal time $18 special a pleasant somewhat overcast am about 70-75 degrees with light breezes--POP 4 hrs with just a little waiting intermittently. Fairways generally ok with some marginal areas mix of green and brown with more thin/dirt areas along the outer regions mostly due to old animal activity and a lack of water. As noted in a prior review rough presented a wide range of density from whispy/sparse to thick to where the ball would sit on top to where is it being buried 2 inches deep.
Bunkers looked better than they played--had been groomed but #6 was wet sand over mud and #14 was heavy thick wet sand. Tees on non par 3s had good cover--par 3s were mostly chewed up--with filled divots--able find acceptable tee placement but visually detracting.
Greens on the front seemed more slow and a little bumpy than usual--5 and 6 still have areas of damage but did not come into play today. Back 9 greens were rolling medium fast and smooth.
Nice friendly helpful staff who appreciate golfers coming to play.

Thanks to GK'er wangster's generous offer to give away an unlimited play voucher on the forums recently, I played 54 holes out here yesterday. I arrived a little past 8:00 and men's club groups were consistently coming through No. 1 due to an earlier shotgun, so after I practiced putting for a while the pro shop guy offered to send me off the back, which worked out great. Each of my three rounds was under 4 hours, totaling 10:20 for 54 holes, even though my cart (and all carts at Shorecliffs) are marginally faster than walking. After each of my first two rounds, I was able to get right back out immediately. No beverage cart yesterday but the pro shop guys were all friendly and helpful. I played the blue tees all day.

Conditions are mixed, a little step down from last time I was here six weeks ago but still quite playable. Greens were mostly smooth, occasionally bumpy and running medium/medium-fast speed. They were soft and accepted full shots very well. The edge of the 4th green has some problem spots as do some sections of the 5th green. Otherwise the greens were pretty good and probably the highlight of current course conditions. Fairways are a mixture of different grasses, some green, some yellow, but generally provided good lies all day long. The rough is also a mixture of grasses and varies from thin/bare to extremely penal, where balls will barely advance if they land in it. The bunkers I was in felt underfoot like they had somewhat decent sand, but they played more like they were very thin. You need a delicate touch to hit good shots from them. Tee boxes were decent; No. 18 is more beat up than the others and many are lumpy, but overall not too big a deal considering you can put a tee under the ball.
