Just played Eagle Glen yesterday as a foursome and all of us commented on how spectacular the course is right now. I'm not sure what the expectations of the previous reviewers are but considering how most courses are in "winter conditions" and with all the rain recently, I cannot emphasize enough how great the conditions are right now. The greens are absolutley perfect. The best I've seen in a long time and I've been playing twice a week for the past few months all over So Cal. Yes, they are quick but not ridiculously so. If you're above the hole, just be careful. I didn't see any circumstance where tapping a putt would cause it to go 20 feet by the hole...

Fairways are great, not dormant like most other courses right now. Tee boxes were lush as was the rough. Very consistent throughout the course. The only negative I saw all day were a few of the bunkers that they were working on. But those played as ground under repair anyway until they're done.

Pace of play was fine. Was a little scared when I saw 3 groups on the first tee and a group in the fairway but once we were off, our group rarely had to wait and were done in exactly 4 hours. We tee'd off at 800 and I was having lunch at Tom's Farms down the road by 1215 so no complaints there whatsover. Now I know that this review contradicts what the others have said but all I can say is go and play there yourself and see what you think. And if it happens to be slow that day...at least you're not in the office somewhere right?

I played this course today for the first time in a few years, and like mzehner, it was a disappointing experience. Rates are lower out in the Inland Empire, so I thought I'd try Eagle Glen with its $29 twilight rate. We started 15 minutes late, and it was deadly slow. The group ahead was on the tee box on well over half the holes. The marshal was making the rounds but it didn't seem to do any good.

I can't help but wonder how much of this is economic. Lots of courses are suffering, and I can see the temptation to throw in an extra group or two in case one cancels -- like overselling flights on airlines. But when the weather is good nobody cancels, and the course is too crowded.

OK, conditions. The course was in fair shape for winter. The rough was, well, rough, the bunkers were generally in bad shape, but the greens and fairways were pretty good. Now I like fast greens, but if they have too much slope it's simply too difficult for recreational golfers to putt. Numerous times one of us would barely tap a putt and it would roll 20 feet past the hole. The greens are fine, but I think they need to slow them down. If you want to have any success at all on these greens you've got to be below the hole. The course is difficult enough that having greens like that seemed like overkill.

Between the frustrating greens and the slow play I couldn't concentrate, and by the back nine I was ready to pack it in. I don't recall ever feeling like that before. The moral of this story is that you get what you pay for. Clearly, the low price at Eagle Glen was still too high.

After several recommendations to play this course I must say: VERY DISAPPOINTED. Maybe it was just the day but course left much to be desired.

After several recommendations to play this course I must say: VERY DISAPPOINTED. Maybe it was just the day but course left much to be desired.
PACE: Tee'd off at 12:17 and didn't finish (17th hole before dark). Front 9 was 3 hours and the only reason we even got to the 17th was that 2 groups threw in the towel at the turn. On the 5th hole, there were 4 GROUPS ON THE TEE. Called the Marshals to see if they could get two two-somes in front of us to join so that we could speed things up but they refused to ask. Seems like there is no consideration for pacing here. Some of the views and the surrounding hills made for some beautiful views which made the time pass a little faster but would rather not have as much time to take it all in.
CONDITIONS: This was a mixed bag. Fairways were actually in decent shape. Greens were rolling pretty quick with just a few bumps because people refused to repair ball marks. But that was where the good stopped... tee boxes were often not level and had severe divot damage. The two sand traps I had the unfortunate pleasure to frequent were solid rock.
LAYOUT: I found the course gimmicky. From the tips it seems a bit long for a casual round (just shy of 7000 yards), but with the elevation changes, the Golds (at around 6300 yards) played even shorter than listed. Most holes were 3-wood and PW. At most I had an 8 iron into the par 4s. Three of the par 5s are reachable in two which slows things way down... the par 3s are short and forgettable. Quite a few blind landing areas so checking the GPS is a must.
VALUE: For $69, this would be a great course if you can play in less than 5 hours. However, given the pace and conditions, I would rather save the $20-$30 bucks and play a local muni.

played jan 9th at 1015am. this course is in great shape, greens are the best in oc that i have played. it is lush and green throughout the course with the exception of some small repair areas. gps available and a big help, saw beverage cart and marshalls at least 6 times each, pace of play was very good(4 hours). will definitely come back to play again.

Played today around 11:00 am, Cart path only and range was closed. Still pretty soggy from the rains, Played extra long from the Blacks. Great layout nice course, the greens were in fantastic shape, still very quick for all the moisture that was in them. Caught this place on golfnow for 15 bucks felt like I robbed them, so I bought some stuff in the Pro shop/clubhouse, Beautiful facility will definately be back to settle the score with that back nine.

Haven't been here in ages. Played yesterday and wow, Eagle Glen, I give you guys credit. The greens are absolutely the best! Hard, fast and pure. Amazing. It really does make playing here a real challenge with greens this fast. This place was awful not too long ago, but now, it's way better. Still spotty in a few fairways, but overall, it's a massive improvement.

Rough was up in spots but somewhat inconsistent. Saw the cart girl 4 times and 3 marshalls. Good day over all.

Played today at 11:30. Took 5 hours to play. Course was in average shape, the greens were very fast but had tons of ball marks and made the greens look like they were in bad shape. The fairways were very good but the rough was wierd. It was all different grasses some dark green some light green and some brown. It didnt look to pretty but it still played well. The customer service was average as well.

$69 on the weekend (Sat) with cart only. Nice deal.

Course in good shape. Greens were very quick yet responsive. Loads of wet areas on course though. Characterize it almost like standing water. Tee boxes were for the most part flat. Some dips but dealable. Rough was spoungy and thick. Fairways were well maintained, but as I said.. had more than a few wet spots. GPS was a nice feature but there was one hole on the front 9 where the information seemed inaccurate. I think it was hole 4 over a canyon. The GPS read 140 to the pin from the fairway. My partner and I were pretty much in the same area. My GPS said more like 120 to the center. Buddy hit his second shot and flew the green thinking it was more like 140 yards. I hit it to 120. May have to check that. Only complaint. Cart gal was more than accessible. Saw her not once, not twice or three times but four on trip through the hillside. Nice work staff. It's pretty much no frills from at Eagle Glen. No one cleans your clubs after a round. No bag drop off. But hey the golfing was great. Just wish I played a little bit better. Course really makes you think. You need to have your driver working on this course or you will pay the price from the blacks. Didn't see a group in front of us on the back or behind the whole round. Good spacing of groups. Only complaint there was we teed off a good 45 minutes later than our original tee time. Sunrise was closer to 7 and our tee time was closer to 8. According to the starter they had tee times starting at around 6:30 and they were unable to get groups out until there was better sun. Not bad considering they knew how to space their groups for the day. After front 9 the course really opened up and speed of play wasn't that much of an issue.
