A four-hour round on a Saturday!! Gotta love it! Course was grand, as always....I felt bad for anybody behind the group that was behind us. We never saw them at all. Even on the notorious par-threes. They finished a full forty-five minutes behind us. That's a big gap. Goose's marshalls need to do a better job. Like on a ski-slope when somebody breaks the rules....cut their lift ticket and send them home!!

greens have plenty of ball mark damage and slower than typical. otherwise a great place to play. please remind your playing partners to repair their marks and maybe 1-2 others.

Played the Goose 3/8, and the course was in great shape. The fairways were lush and the rough was not too rough (3"-4"). The greens were nice but didnt hold shots too well. They were very hard and not as fast as you would expect with them being so hard. The greens were so hard that I broke a plastic divot tool fixing an old ball mark. The staff was great and with Heiniken (sp) on tap, I'll be back sooner than later. Also, saw the beverage cart 5 times.

After reading the reviews about this course, I was pretty excited to play it. I wasn't dissapointed. This is a pretty well maintained course. Almost all the greens were in immaculate condition and the fairways were pretty lush. Needless to say I will be back. There is one thing to consider about this course. The course is right next to a dairy farm. The smell wasn't bad when I played, but in the summer, that might be a different story.

Played on Saturday morning, 2/21. Everybody had predicted heavy rains. but we went out anyway. Perfect day for golf.....greens have softened up quite a bit due to the rains, and the fairways were as lush as I've ever seen them.....perhaps they could even use a good mowing. The rough was pretty thick, so stay out of it !! We didn't get even a drizzle until the 17th hole! A wonderful time was had by all!

Well....except for this: The day turned out to be extra expensive for one of my playing partners. While we were on the course, somebody hit and ran his car in the parking lot!! Lots of driver's-side damage - and no note left. Right there in the very front part of the parking lot. Don't know what to say about this - but - be careful where you park!

The morning weather-dude on KTLA had predicted 70-mph wind gusts - I don't know if they got all *that* high, but - I'd be willing to bet there were some 50-mph gusts !! The course was empty due to the wind and all of the cancellations....but - The Goose is a forgiving course in general and can be played in any weather. Played with our Greenskeeper.org fearless leader JohnnyGK, and he pointed out something that I never really noticed before - the tee-boxes at The Goose are HUGE - and very lush. For those who like to not use a tee on par-threes, these are some of the best places to hit from I have ever seen in my 35 years of playing golf in So. Cal. Greens were dry and firm (due to the wind, I'm sure! There's no way sprinklers can keep water on the ground with winds like these!) - sand traps were pretty firm and packed....and on a windy day, rest-assured that you will be in more than one, as Goose Creek is well-bunkered. Rough was not-too-long and fairwars were as plush as you will find....I didn't have a thin lie all day long. Always worth the drive, always worth the greens-fees, a real golfer's course !!

And the PUNCH cigars at the clubhouse are $8.00/ea., not $8.99 !!

BOYCOTT BROOKSIDE AND THEIR NO CIGAR POLICY !! PLAY THE GOOSE....you'll be glad you did !!!
