Having played mostly the LA and Long Beach system, this was a pleasant change. The course has a very interesting layout with many risk reward holes. Cart lady came by 4 times during our round! The staff were very cordial and happy to have us.

The practice facilities were awesome, which is very unlike LA courses. Great grass, chipping area, and putting green.

In terms of the course, the fairways were pristine and the greens were immaculate. Greens played a little slower than they looked. Finished in a little over 4 hrs walking. Only had to wait a little bit on the par 3's, but otherwise, a very brisk pace. All the golfers here seem to have game (no hacks) and know the importance of keeping pace. Given the conditions and course, it was a bargain. I will definitely play this track again.

I use " cuz wind was blowing about 50mph! there were maybe three cars in parking lot. we only played nine holes as we couldn't even keep our balance and our golf balls wouldn't even stay on their marks on the greens. impossible weather conditions. i was really bummed as this is my favorite track and i drove 50 miles to play there. course was immaculate! perfect conditioning. too bad weather didn't coorperate.

8 AM tee time, very foggy when we hit the first tee, could only see to the fairway bunkers (about 250 from the blue tees). Grass was on the wet side. Fairways overall were nice and green. Several fairways were wet and muddy probably due to the recent rain. They had recently cut them and there was quite a bit of wet, lumpy grass clippings in several areas but rarely bothered your shots. Most of the greens were very very good. Overall they held all shots well and putted true. Most were not very fast, but nice. Some clippings on the greens, but that was from stuff clinging to the spikes.

Overall all the outing was enjoyable, Goose on a bad day is better than some others on their good days. Played in just over 4 hrs.

Made a long-overdue return to Goose Creek on Saturday, 11/29/08. Had the 7:08 slot. Two of our guy cancelled, starter put us with another twosome from the slot behind us. The fog was a little late in lifting, actually got off at 7:28. And that's never a problem at "The Goose". Why? Because the counter personnel here are the absolute best! Kudos, as always, to Jim Dame, who always greets you with a hearty helow and a smile, like he's glad to see you (and in his case, I know it's genuine.) He gives you the straight scoop on any delays, course conditions...he's a real asset, as are all of the pro-shop and snack-bar folks.

MOST of the greens were very very good. One green, and I can't remember which one, was a little slow in recovering from the last punching, and was a little on the lumpy-bumpy side. Overall they held all shots well and putted true. Not very fast, but nice.

Fairways overall were nice and green. The overseeding took very well this year, and the short-grass is where you wanna be! The rough doesn't LOOK all that long, maybe 2-2 1/2" - but it's tough stuff to get out of. ON the fairway, it's very even, with very few bare areas and GUR.

Pace of play was perfect. Never had a bit of pressure from behind. Never waited on the group in front of us until the par-three 16th. There's just something about the awareness of the Saturday golfers at Goose Creek. They seem to take responsibility for the pace of play and act accordingly. 4.0 hours exactly.

A few places were wetter than they should be...but that was probably due to the recent rain, rather than over-watering.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother to play anywhere else...I guess it's for the variety. But if I was limited to just one track, Goose Creek would win that honor, hands-down.

We're even negotiating with the staff to get Jameson Irish Whisky behind the bar for Irish Coffees this winter. They are so accomodating!!!!

Oh...have I mentioned that they don't allow fivesomes?

I don't know why it took me so long to play hear as today was my first time. It won't be long before I'm back . It's a very well manicured course with interesting holes. It's in outstanding condition. Greener than any other course around. Looked like we were in Kentucky out there. Greens were pretty fast & rolled smooth. Several putts looked good then broke away from the hole in the final foot. I had one of my best rounds tee to green but had 3 three putts. We played from the whites so it wasn't too long. The 'Goose" shows that you dont need huge elevation changes to make for a great layout. We saw the bev cart girl twice and guys cleaned our clubs when done so customer service is good. The course lived up to all the nice reviews I've read.

the course looks good. the driving range is a perfect grass range, and the practice green is awesome. the greens are looking nice. the fairways were perfect, the rough was about 2 in. and lush. the only complaint, some guy(i guess the marshall) told us to speed it up after 12, which bothered me considering 3 of us were walking and 1 rode, and we finished in 4 hours exactly... thats the only complaint i've ever had about the goose.

if you've never played this course, i highly recommend it.

What a great looking golf course. Tee boxes, fairways, greens are in excellent shape. I played in a tournament here today and everyone loved it. I'll try to come back here again soon.

Greens did not look good, but they putt just fine. One of my very favorite courses to play !

Played here today 11/12 Wed. at 11 am for the first time. And i will say its worth taking a day off work. Ive read so much good stuff about this course in here for a while now. And i can't believe we just played it only today after playing almost all the other courses in the I.E. first. Anyway course is in perfect shape right now. The tee boxes were just perfect, the fairways were almost perfect, I dont remember seeing any thin spots or brown spots. Greens healed just perfect, Rolling smoothly. Pace was suprisingly good, After arriving an hour early and seeing all this groups lined up at the 1st hole going in before us. It kinda felt like its a weekend.Anyway we started in time and finished in a little over 4 hours. Overall it was a perfect day out in Goose Creek. And i am sure me and my bro will be back here soon.
