Played here on Friday, 7/22 and was very pleased to see the Links has recovered from the flooding last winter. The greens and fairways are in the BEST condition that I have seen them. Only complaint is that the golfers do not fix their ball markers on the greens. Let's get behind the Links and support them by playing there!

Played here on June 30 for the first time. Was a bit leery after reading some of the previous GK reviews regarding remaining flood damages, but was very pleasantly surprised to find the overall condition of the course in a very good shape, particularly the greens and the bunkers (actually had good sand in them!). Enjoyed the links style golf, the view and the abundant wildlife, plus a great customer service all around. Will definitely return. Just wish it wasn't so far from where I live, but it's absolutely worth the long drive.

The Golf Course has made an awesome comeback considering what it has been through. I played here two months ago and what a world of difference. The greens are in great shape, they were a bit on the slow side, but all in all greens are awesome. They are slowly attempting to get their rates back up but, it is well worth the price of admission. I am very pleased with the way the course has come back and plan on revisiting over the weekend.

I really like this course, this was my 2nd time playing it and it really requires you to strategically plot your way around without being a target style golf course. The greens were great, some ball mark damage but rolled really well. Tee boxes were flat but were a little hairy in some places. The fairways were as expected hard in most places but also still showing some flooding damage. I only wish this course was a little closer and wasnt so exposed to the wind.

3. You have to pay $1 for GPS. We used our groupgolfer.com certificates to play and the paper says includes GPS Cart but they still made us pay $1. I thought it was pretty ridculous. And its not $1 per cart its per person.
4. This course is probably the hardest course in Southern California right now. In more ways than one.
5. The course is HARD. I mean like a rock. The grass hurts your hands with big divots. Its very very dry.
6. The course is flooded along the sides of the course. So there is water where there shouldnt be water. This makes the course very difficult because there also is no rough. So if you go long it will catch the side slope and roll straight into water that shouldnt be there. Is that a penalty? No clue.
7. TIP: You have to club down like crazy. Two clubs at some points. I had 207 left and hit a 7 iron because the ball does not check it. It just flies once it hits the ground another 30 yards. Not even with a wedge will it check.
8. I really liked this course when I played it in December but it is just too darn hard right now. And I mean literally Hard. The ball rolls all kind of places not sure if its gonna roll out, check, good bounce, bad bounce etc.

Played today 6/23 and had a great time. Links golf, fairways rolled good and I putted a few times from 50 feet off the green. Some wet areas but overall a good time. Cart girl came around twice with cold wet towels, great service. Will definitely go again. Links golf is different.

After reading a ton about how this course suffered from the heavy rains/flooding from earlier in the year, my group decided to go back to one of the most unique and enjoyable courses in SoCal. We were not disappointed! Sure, there were some moist spots in the fairways and other areas that were marked "GUR", but as a whole, Summerly is more than playable. The greens were in good shape, the bunkers were near perfect and the fairways were firm-but-playable (like links golf should be). The biggest difference right now is that when you hit it into the low-lying waste areas, chances are you are under water. You will do well by staying away from the burns and waste areas, and you can score very well here.
One more point: The customer service was excellent! From the pro shop to the beverage cart girl and the restaurant bar, everything was great!

Played on Saturday, June 11 with a morning tee time. It took us about 5 hours to play 18. We were able to play all 18 holes but play of holes was out of sequence since the bridge between one of the holes is still under water.

This course is very challenging with the presence of burns on a number of holes. In addition, water comes into play on a number of holes. Some of the burns are dry and some have water in it. In either case, if your ball lands here, you will most likely have to take an unplayable. We found a lot of casual water on the course. In some cases, you need a ball retriever to retrieve your ball in casual water on the fairway. In addition, we found that a lot of fairways were very mushy and wet. There were lots of areas on the fairways marked as ground under repair. And in some other cases, the fairways were so hard and firm. You can hurt yourself if you hit your ball fat.

The greens were just okay. There were lots of unrepaired ball marks on the green. Plus it appears there are old ball marks, which have not quite recovered. Greens were bumpy in spots. The sand was average. Sand was not hard packed but it was decent to hit off it.

There is GPS in the golf carts. They have a nice clubhouse. On the way here, you need to follow the directions as shown on the website to get here. The GPS in our car wanted us to go down a different street.

This golf course has more of a Scottish links feel with all the burns. In addition, you have to remember that your ball will travel a little longer with the rolling bumps on the fairways. On a few holes, I thought I left enough to layup in front of the burns but my ball continues to roll into the burns. Course needs few more months to recover from the flooding earlier this year. It's not worth paying full price here.

Course is coming back to life after all the flooding. Some of the course is still under water which is a bit frustrating when you consider they can rent a pump and use that water to irrigate the course instead of using the sprinklers. That would help out with both the flooding issue AND water the areas they are trying to regrow. Overall the greens are just about back to normal. Sadly, they are still really immature (short root bed) so repairing ballmarks leads to some bare spots. Give them about another 2 weeks or so and I think the water should be gone and the course can be up to 85% instead of 70%.
