We took advantage of the $29 special (actually $30 as they charge you $1 for the GPS) and teed off at 6AM (first group) and were done (at) 9. We had heard a lot about this course (good/bad) and believe we waited for just the right month to go play. As many of you know, course was under water (no wonder, it sits below Lake Elsinore. How/why I don't know). And there are still some wet areas (negligible) and one cart path still under a little water from the lake next to it (won't effect you unless you hook it off the tee). It is truly a links course. Trouble (sand, water) left and right and some burns (rock streams) crossing fairways. So if you hook, slice, you will have a long day because there is plenty of water around the holes/greens. The fairway bunkers are not harsh and easy to get out of (none in front of the greens except 18). You may not go as far as you like (maybe you will) but you will be able to advance forward. But if you read the GPS (text only/no pics) you should be fine. The fairways are solid and provide good roll on well struck shots. The greens are excellent and large. If you have the speed/direction down, you will be rewarded. Come up short of a green, you can putt/chip (like all links courses) and save par/bogey. Only one sand trap in front of one green. Number 18 and it is in a tough spot with water to the left of it. On top of that it is a long hole (601/Black; 576/Blue; 533/White) longest on the course and as we had no wind (behind/into) I hate to think how long it can play? But we loved the back 9. Three par 5's; 3 par 3's (that's 6 of 9) that if you score well on can get your round in great shape very quickly. If you are looking for a different place to play, I recommend this course. It looks busy, as the parking lot was filling up when we finished, so book an early tee time. We had great weather but as we all know, it can get hot out there. It is an easy place to get too. 15 Freeway (N/S) exit Diamond and go west and you run right into the course. Hope you play it and enjoy it as much as we did.
