Played here as a threesome 11/26 8:15am. Weather was perfect and the course was in pretty darn good condition.
Service: Inconsistent. There was a cart guy that met us in the parking lot, but no one took us back after the round. No cart lady at all. There is always a marshal driving around. As of the new year, they will no longer be giving out complimentary range balls :(
Tee boxes: Mostly level. Some were more chopped up than others.
Fairways: Mostly lush and green. Occasional dried up bare spots, but for the most part in really good conditions.
Rough: They have trimmed it and it is is reasonable conditions. They seem to be letting some areas brown out.
Greens: Great condition. Pretty slick but still holds the approach shots. Rolls really nice and does not have a terrible amount of unrepaired divots.

All in all, the course is in really good condition. Pace of play was nice (finished in 4 hrs). Great time to come out and play this course.

played Tue 11/13 overall conditions were very good. Greens were very firm and didn't hold; very quick (I used the excuse that the wind moved my putt a couple of times, on missed short putts). Wind was strong from the East, which made some of the toughest holes easier, and the others "different". Over-all always a challenge and very enjoyable; well worth the fee.

This review is for earlier in the week. Played week before Q-school so they have not cut much back since overseeding. Was in good overall shape with a few issues as noted in the previous two reviews. Rough was absolutely brutal though as i couldn't find my ball 3 inches off the fairway. I know this will be different next week but man it made for a hard round. This is a very nice and yes, challenging course. I do agree they need a mini booklet for those who haven't played here. Had a friend from AZ with me and he would have used one. I do very much like the staff here from pro shop to starter and others. They very much make you feel appreciated and look to make your round enjoyable. Ate at the restaurant for the first time and was EXCELLENT! probably the best patty melt I've had!

Played 10/18/12 with SBogey and Wdement. After some of the later reviews I was expecting course conditions to be a little better. This was my first time playing this course after wanting to for a long time and really liked it but course knowledge would have been a huge plus. Carts have no gps and there were no regular yardage books in the pro shop, just the professional caddy booklets which are very detailed but I don't have $20 to spend on a booklet. Would be good if you played this course all the time though.

Tee boxes varied from lush to very thin, a couple tee boxes had sod and some had a ton of divot damage. I was also surprised that the tee boxes weren't very level. Fairways were cut very tight and the front 9 fairways seemed thinner than the back. Rough was pretty brutal at times. Lush and deep in some areas and then spotty all throughout the course leaving some really tough shots from the rough. I was in a 1 fairway bunker that was not too soft and easy to get out of and was in 2 greenside bunkers. 1 was soft and fluffy and 1 was hardpan under just a dusting of sand which was a shame because it was the 18th greenside bunker and not a great way to end your round. Greens on the front 9 were firm and smooth with medium speed. Back 9 greens were softer, bumpier and you could see all the traffic that had been on them during the day. Plenty of water out on the course but no cart girl at least while we were out there. Layout is pretty good but difficult and need to really think about your shots.

Pro shop, starter and bartender were all very friendly. Practice facility is pretty nice and range balls were included. Also if you have never played here before the putting green is up on the hill above the range towards the 1st tee and the speed pretty much matched some of the first holes but was definitely faster than most of the greens on the course. Would love to come back here and play again now that I know the layout but I have a feeling for me it would take a few rounds to really know how to play it and put up a decent score.

Played 10-18-12 with 2 other GK'ers. Course is getting ready for tour qualifier so expected perfect conditions. Overall it was in good shape. Bunkers were a bit hard but had some fluff to them. Greens still show signs of aeration and that affected the breaks and speed. Speed seemed to vary from hole to hole. Some greens held while others didn't. The layout has a nice variety of holes and challenges. Biggest negative was the rough. There were areas where it was thick and spongy and others where it was half dirt half clumps. Would play here again but would not be a first choice course.

Been several years since I played here. Aside from some wind gusts in the high 20's, the round was very good with the course condition in decent shape. Some combo bermuda/rye rough that was sticky and tough to extract the ball from and some thin bunkers. Pace of play just under 4 hrs was very refreshing! Greens were recently cut low and rolled fast. For the most part, very worth the drive but I have seen this place even nicer in the past. Went out as a single and was paired with a couple old guys (70's) who still hit it long and had great games. Played the back blue tees (one in that day) with them. We all shot low 80's w/ several birdies in the group. looking forward to playing again soon.

Played here 10/7. Course was in great shape overall. Greens were a bit slower than normal but fairways and rough were in good shape although the rough was really tough to get out of as the grass was long (they were getting ready for an amateur tournament). Highly recommended to play, never seen this course in bad shape. Tough track so not for the average golfer.

Played 10-10-12 with our group of 14.

There's lots of reasons this course is at the top of my list for SoCal. One of them is the layout which is fun, fair and yet very challenging. The first two holes are similar to each other, but after that no two holes are anywhere close to being alike. Fades off the tee, draws into greens, and vice-verse throughout. Straight shots work here, but if you can work the ball it's a BIG advantage. PGA Tour Qualifying is here for a reason.

Greens: Just verti-cut, but rolled medium fast and beautifully.

Fairways: Re-seeding has taken hold and gave us great lies all day.

Tee boxes: Near perfect.

Bunkers: Excellent.

Rough: 3"-6" of very lush pain! (Fairways and greens here boys and girls!)

The $45-$55 weekday rate is also awesome!
