Played here 7/13/22. Had 850 tee time, arrived early and got right out as single. I never saw another golfer until the 16th hole. Very quiet, 11 cars in parking lot. Was a little worried about condition if no one playing.

Overall however, very good condition, although many areas between holes need to be cleaned up.

Tee boxes were a bit suspect, #2 in poor condition, but most others were fine.

Fairways were very good,, well defined, and medium firm to get good roll out, but still provided nice lies throughout with good cushion.

Greens were excellent. Medium soft but rolled beautifully, and very pure medium speed.

Bunkers were a little shaggy in spots, but sand was fine, although, had not been dragged / raked for a while.

Excellent layout, well guarded green complexes, with mounding and bunkers, plenty of trees along the way but none really are in play.

Not beverage cart, just a window for check in, unsure if bar / café was open. But if looking for a very good golf experience, good place to go right now. Highly recommend. Enjoy

Now $60 during the week for seniors..because (I suspect) of wind greens were nice but a bit slow...fairways have enough mat of bermuda grass to have some good lies (no over seed in most areas) Rough OK but eyes on shots very important as some areas have a couple inches of long grass. Always a fun course with some very interesting holes, a little long as white tees go but not impossible. Best to hit high shots, if you can, into greens as being in a windy area they do not hold much. Pace of play was outstanding as there was very little play going on...they seem to get some group play here so maybe check that out when making a tee time...if not during the week there is very little play...

Played 2-16-22. Got out early and was able to get around in just over 4 hours. Had a 4 some ahead of us but they let us play through on #10 and we flew around after that. Course is in pretty awful condition I'm afraid. Lots of dead spots and many areas with just tufts of grass. Much like I have found at Yucaipa but for twice the price. The tee boxes were the worst I have played in a number of years. I think maybe half had grass. Fairways were dry so rolled out well and were OK to hit off if you could avoid the clumpy sections. Bunkers were good with some rocks but nice consistency and coverage. Greens were the bet part though they were very fast and as I have experienced in the past it seems like they don't tamp down the green around the hole so it humps up at the edge and can deflect the ball away from the hole. The greens have a lot of undulation so double and triple breakers are not unusual but they are a fun challenge. At $40 I would say at least you can get your money's worth but at $60 I would not be inclined to return.

Played the blues with Nickesquire in great weather and course conditions. I'll echo Nick's assessments. This was my first time playing here from the tips, and I found it demands just as much focus and execution as playing the whites(not simply more distance). That makes this a great track. The greens have healed very well from aeration and are in great shape. I would highly reccomend Oak V right now and for at least into early December. Fall is full in Cherry Valley, and nighttime temps will take thier toll. Players looking to challenge thier game should look here. Thanks to Nick for setting this up.

Rode the Blues (6829/72.7/136) with FirstFlightFX-101 in 4.5H playing behind a 4some. Thanks to Chuck for a fun afternoon. $55 w/cart is their twilight rate. Clear, little wind, mid 80's. Golf weather as pleasant as you can get! OV would be really challenging to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green. Nice layout with above average playing conditions. Even though part of the course has homes around it, they do not intrude and many holes are just surrounded by trees and open space. Tees decent coverage and were mostly well maintained but several could use leveling. Fairways good, firm with decent coverage. Rough mostly lush, several inches deep and thick. Lost ball rough unless you are right on top of it. Sand traps nicely maintained with brown sand that played well. However, before you hit, all the bunkers I was in you had to remove the many rocks in them before playing. Large, undulating green complexes are challenging. Firm, they were mostly smooth and putted medium fast. No drink cart out, the Marshall was out patrolling. Friendly starter and the check-in was efficient. No GPS on the basic carts. All grass driving range was a +. Recommended.

Played March 26. Minimal wind...... Rough was not to penal, fairways mostly dormant and fast, bunkers fine, greens hard and mostly quick. First time playing and really enjoyed the layout. Par 3's seem to run the whole gambit of shot making necessity. Not really any amenities, carts are beat up, and no GPS. This is a good track and if your in it for the golf it's a good fair test with birdie chances galore. If your in it for manicured transition areas and a high level of customer service it's maybe not your thing. Great views though.

Finally made it back out to Oak Valley this week and it was a fun experience, but not one without its issues. Got a late tee time and rode the white tees with little fuss. Easy check-in and cart distribution.

Conditions overall here can best be described as 'shaggy.' The course is not lush right now, but the layout is still very challenging and interesting. You're going to find some good areas in the fairways for sure, but you're also going to find a lot of thin lies and a very scruffy look and feel to the whole place.

Tee boxes are a bit beat up and the bunkers are also not in optimal shape, but playable. The rough is a total mixed bag but sometimes better than the thin lies in good landing areas. The greens are probably the best part of the course, but even they're not completely without fault. Some bumpy areas, a few too many ball marks, but very interesting complexes and medium-fast, consistent speeds.

I really want to go back again but would definitely wait until it's back in prime shape, especially if I'm making the drive that far out to Beaumont again.

Made the drive out to Oak Valley yesterday to get in my first round since destroying my wrist on a tree root a few weeks back. I love this course and it looked wide open on GolfNow so I figured what the heck.

I arrived and noticed that the clubhouse is closed. The stairs up to where you usually check in were completely roped off. You now check in downstairs next to the range ball dispensing machine (for those that have been here before).

I was able to head right away as a single. The course was pretty much wide open. I did catch a couple of groups on #7 but I think they only played 9 holes because once I got on the back, I had the course to myself.

The course is pretty much what you would expect right now. There are areas of bright green grass and then there are patches of dormant Bermuda. This has to be a tough winter for golf courses. It has been fairly warm most days and reasonably cold at night so I am sure getting the winter grasses to grow during this time has to be tough.

The fairways were in pretty good shape even with the patches of grass. I only came across a few bare areas. For the most part, the fairways (and rough for that matter) was definitely playable. No complaints here.

The bunkers were the best I have seen since all this COVID stuff started. Most of the courses I have played seemed to be letting the bunkers go since they are not allowed to have rakes. The bunkers here had plenty of sand and most looked like they had not had a person step foot in them all day. I was only in one and it was perfect in my opinion.

The greens (as usual) were the standout point here. You can still SEE the holes from where they were punched but it had no influence on any of my putts. The greens seemed rocket fast to me but that could be because I have not played in quite a few weeks. The greens here have a lot of undulation so putts seem to break a lot more than you would expect. Even with me blowing putts 6 feet by because of my lack of feel for the speed, I still seemed to miss on the low side about 90% of the time. I am sure a lot of others that have played this golf course would agree with me that these are some of the trickiest greens around. Greens were 10/10 in my book.

The tee boxes did seem like they needed a little work. The par 3s were especially chewed up (#11 in particular). This does not bother me too much at all but it may bother some so I figured it was worth mentioning.

All in all, I could not ask for a better day to get back at it. A fun layout that was in typical winter shape (even though it was close to 80 degrees when I hit the first tee). Definitely worth it if you are in the area. Don't expect Augusta National but don't expect a typical muni either. Well worth the 40 min drive for me after work. I will be back.

Drove out here from Santa Clarita to play 2 courses on Black Friday. We played Tukwet Canyon Champions course in the morning and played here with a 12:10 tee time. We played the white tees because the wind was blowing pretty good. Some holes it was a 3 club difference. This is a great track. Overall the course was in good shape. The greens were quick and rolled true. The fairways and tee boxes were also in good shape. I definitely recommend this course to anyone who has not played it. I have played all the top public courses in the Coachella Valley and this track is up there with some of the good ones. The city of Beaumont is lucky to have 3 great course right next to each other.
