Played Wed. the 2/4. Course is in excellent condition and fast becoming one of my favorites to play, possibly passing Soboba for 2nd favorite course behind Oak Quarry. Pace was excellent, no one in front or behind, until the 16th hole, just what I needed, I was really getting frustrated with pace, at some of the courses I have been playing.

Played here after a year or more absence. Still such a beautiful course and yep, still very challenging. Customer service here has always been excellent. Pace of play was fine. Seems like most people that play here are decent golfers. Conditions today were fantastic! Greens were smooth and fast, a bit firm as usual, divots repaired. Fairways Much better than I had expected at this time of the year, very good lies all day. Rough excellent at a manageable 2" or so. Tees good, some a bit crowned but nothing terrible. Sand good, typical heavy, damp. Small ice chest on cart, no GPS. Flags are marked red, white, blue and you can see most shots. Great staff, Very enjoyable. Additionally, the Yamaha carts are excellent, quiet, great brake pedal. Ball cleaners all look new and the club cleaner on the range is maybe a week old, maybe. Kudos to the management and staff here. We had a fantastic day.

First time here at Oak Valley- very nice course, tough on many holes, the back displays and plays like a Pete Dye influenced design- nust guessing- not sure who designed it, but..., bunkerings and angles kept me busy. Gotta play here more to know how it should play or go out and play with a regular player could help speed the knowledge. But nevertheless, a spectacular course to get on.

The teeing grounds on the blues were just fine, level and not beat up- we saw the white tees looking good as well on our way by. The fairways were in great shape. The fairway bunker I got into was alright. The greenside bunker- two of them I got in were okay- there were good sand- a little moist, but not bad. The greens looks pretty healed from its aeration and rolled pretty good- speed isn't lightning fast but its in a stage condition that can get easily set up to be quick- I'm sure you know what this course is capable of with the undulations it has.

Our tee time was at 9:50am, but did not get to tee off till about 10:05. It was pretty close to 3:00 when we finished. Holiday thing, I supposed- no problem. Still enjoyed this really cool course.

Beverage cart came around at least 3 times. Staff were helpful and welcoming- informative.

All in all, the whole experience was enjoyable. Must visit again!

Played 11/18, 11:52 tee time. Forecast was for 10-12 mph winds dying down past noon - actual conditions were steady at nearly 20 with gust to 30+, primarily from the East. Overall course set-up was good for that kind of weather (most pins were towards the middle, tees were up on some holes, first cut of rough was manageable). POP was quite good for difficult conditions, finished in under 4 hours. Started as a single and blew through the front side in about 1:40 (pun intended). At the turn I caught up to a 2-some with an on-course coach following a rather deliberate 4-some - waited out 5 holes, then another single joined me and the 2-some bailed so we didn't wait again until our approach on 18.

Having played this course since the first week it opened, a couple little things stood out as not being up to what it has been in the past. Several of the tees had little areas that weren't level - not a slope, but little bumps and low spots. Almost not noticeable until you took a stance, but had to reset on 4 different holes to feel comfortable.

Greens still showed signs of aeration, even though it's been several weeks. Only impacted the putting line once, but it seemed to make the greens inconsistent re: speed of putts. I know, be patient, but I'm surprised at how long it's taken for a full recovery.

Yes, these are little things, but on a course of this caliber (and knowing how good it CAN be) they made a difficult day just that much more so. Hope these are temporary and only a memory by the next time.

Another 10 days before the greens are probably back to being great a little bumpy still. Really like the course layout here, a good challenge, definitely worth the green fee.

Rough was a factor, fairways were generally good if soft and occasionally wet, and the greens showed little evidence of aeration. The bunkers were not so good - the sand was wet and rocky. Customer service was excellent as was the breakfast sandwich. A good time on a great course.

Greens should be perfect in a week or two, would play again tomorrow, if I could.

I'll give them a pass due to drought conditions, but some nearby tracks are in much better shape. Inconsistent bunker conditions as well. Still, great challenging layout and a price cut (paid $35 weekday afternoon) make it worth a trip out. All employees are very friendly.

Played early afternoon on a Monday. 95% of my golf is played right here in the IE, so how is it that I waited so long to play this great course. I am really fond of my top 5 IE courses, this course is easily going to bump one of those courses to 6th position.

Whenever I play a course a for the first time, I like to check the tips, posted below by other players. I forgot to on this occasion, $20 for a yardage book. No thanks. The course was pretty much the way you see it from the T. No hidden lakes, or blind spots, but there was a couple of holes where there appeared to be landing areas, than a valley, was not sure if there was heavy rough down there or what? It caused me to probably hit poor drives, from what I remember it was normal fairway.

Everything was in great condition, 7+ condition, but the greens were just an excellent design and very challenging, if you had a long putt you likely had a double breaker. I kept hearing how challenging this course was, from the whites it's a whopping 132 rating and 6300 yards, blues top off at 7000. For a 16 HCP, I thought it was the right mix of challenge and fun, and would have scored very well except for a couple of blow up holes.

I absolutely loved this course, but here is a few suggestions and critiques:

No cart girl, I am okay with this, there our coolers on the cart. Tip- there is a large ice bucket located at the entrance of the under ground cart area at the turn.

Carts are in great shape, but no GPS, markers our not readily visible. Having boulders marking 200 and in, makes things easier and faster.

I usually like a course to have at least 5 holes with water on them, just 3 here from what I remember, but the design was so good I did not miss them that much.

Tip- Do a stay and play in this area, play Oak Valley then Soboba in San Jacinto, you will not be disappointed and it's a bit cooler than Palm Springs. Morongo has great rooms.
