Played here on Friday, 8/29 in the early AM. The course is in excellent condition considering the hot summer. Greens: a little soft in the early AM but were firming up as the day progressed. The greens were smooth and medium speed. Fairways: great condition considering the heat in Temecula. Rough: punishing around the greens, 2-4" high. Traps: Most traps in good condition around the greens BUT lots of unraked foot prints. Guess maybe the maintenance crew did not get to the raking of the traps yet. The one fairways trap I was in was hardpan. POP: just over 4 hours. Used the GK coupon for $35. Complimentary water from the cart girl, really needed it on the back nine as the temp was approaching 90.

such a great a track @ RedHawk. also, thank you for the coupon from Greenskeeper. from tee to green, the course is very well maintained. tee boxes were leveled. fairways were in great conditions and like carpet which your tee shot will benefit from. DON'T get in the rough, it will punish you. 1-3" and thick. 1st & 2nd cut were perfect. greens were running a bit faster than medium and rolled well. due to the layout of green areas, most of the greens have false front and back and pin placement was a bit tough over this weekend. love this track. and who can forget RedHawk's signature, #8...beautiful

Greens are still recovering from recent maintenance and are still not what you would expect. I would give the greens a couple more weeks before they are back to their usual condition. Fairways were very wet yesterday, maybe expecting a heat wave? The staff is always great here and the course is very challenging for all levels. Pace of play is good if you get out early in the day. It's always a good time when playing here.

Played Redhawk Golf Club last Saturday as part of our GK Cup plays…which pretty much turned out as more of a casual get together. 11 of us showed up and I got to tee it up with Rat-Patrol, Ringworld and RobStretch. Our group had a fantastic time as you could image with this crew. The course was in great shape as far I was concerned. I thought the greens rolled mostly smooth, held shots well and were medium/fast. We were treated to some very challenging pin placements although that I’m contributing mostly to the that fact they hosted a Toyota Tour Cup Jr. event…pretty much all scratch players. Pin placements on holes 4 and 14 were just insane. The fairways were real dry but provided good firm lies all day. The rough was lush and about 1 to 3 inches. The bunkers had good quality sand and well maintained. The tee boxes were good shape and mostly level (we played the blue tees).

But the thing that I dig most about Redhawk is the layout and design. Just take a look at the photos. It’s a challenging yet fair track (although some may argue the greens are not fair and I could see that but for me I like all the undulations). Great scenery and variety of holes. Lots of elevation changes and at times some tight fairways. I love the water features and holes 8 and 18 are by far my favorites.

I’ve always received excellent service and Saturday was no different. Proshop was polite and handled our GK Coupon deal Redhawk provided fine. Cart staff/starter was real torrent of some of our group that showed up late. Restaurant staff friendly. Marshals out there doing there job and in a respectful way. I felt well treated.

My only gripe is I thought the prices for refreshments were too high. $4.50 for an Arizona Arnold Palmer was steep. I’m used to paying $3.50 for it at other courses. Some of the others in our group that also grabbed some drinks at the turn were not that happy with what they paid.

Wish Redhawk was not a 2hr 30min drive for me otherwise I would be playing more often. Highly Recommended.

Played on 5/26 early in the morning. Poor first impression as I had a 6:54 tee time but we didn't tee off until 7:15. I'm not sure how they got 20 minutes behind schedule after just a handful of tee times but it felt poorly managed.

The course is in good condition. The greens are smooth, fairway full, and overall prime for the summer. The layout is a little funky with too many sharp doglegs where you hit 5-wood to the end of the dogleg and still have 180 to the green. The greens have huge undulations and some pin placements today were just outright unfair (God forbid you hit the wrong side of the green on #14).

Pace of play was ok, we never were pushed and waited on only a few holes. The biggest downside was starting 20 minutes late.

Overall the course is slightly above average. It doesn't do anything extraordinary well, but it's not lacking anywhere either. It's a good value for the money.

Played today in the GK Plays. Not much else to add to Ring and Rat's reviews below. Overall course conditions were good but not great. Fairways were firm and fast providing lots of roll out. Sand was inconsistent. Tees and rough were good. Greens were good as well but mostly thanks to the GK'ers in front of us that were repairing tons of ball marks left behind from the Junior tourney. By the time, our group got on the greens, they were pretty much free of damage. Thanks guys! Greens were definitely rolling better on the front 9. Got bumpier as the day wore on. Good value with the GK coupon.

Played in GK meetup at Redhawk. Been a while since I played here and my memory shows. Love the course layout and design. No yardage in carts but plenty of markers to show the way.

Greens in good shape. They were on the slower side but very puttable. Fairways are thin and cut short so expect a lot of roll out. Bunkers in good shape. Tee boxes flat and everything here is well marked.

POP around 4.5 hours. Played after Jr. Tournament POP was still pretty fast. Sorry for the twosome behind us. Being sandwiched between two foursomes is not cool. Glad management got them around us pretty fast.

BTW take advantage of the GK coupon here. It's worth it to download/print and present. Also staff here is top notch. You like being treated like royalty well Redhawk is the place.

GK play event today and I got to play and ride with the Grand Poobah, the Big Kuhuna, the Master of Ceremonies, our gracious host Johnny GK . . . wow what a mellow dude he is! Laid Back, with a capital L&B! It was a pleasure to not only play with him but also Robstretch and Ringworld the one and only. Great day on a fun interesting course. It's always a blessing to be able to play with such friendly, out going and welcoming people as GKers are, thanks everyone!

The course was in decent shape, fairways were running fast, as were the greens. The greens were a bit bumpy in spots and difficult to read, well, at least for me. (Johnny had no problem with the 18th green, sunk a bomb!) The bunkers were hit and miss some good some a bit crusty. Rough was minimal. The staff was absolutely great as we had a bit of confusion and people switching spots and they took it all in stride. Last time I played here there was little in the way of wind, but today the wind got quite strong when we got to the back nine and that sure changed things making scoring tough.
Overall nice course with some beautiful looking holes, bridges and cool tunnels. Fun layout and a place that will make you pay if you get out of position!

I played Redhawk as a single on Friday, May 9th. I used the GK Coupon and was able to get on for $35. This is by far the best golf deal going right now. Redhawk is a fun and interesting track in fantastic shape, and to play for that price felt like a steal.

I teed off about 6:40 as a single and caught up to a couple of nice guys on the fifth hole. We proceeded to play in about 3 hours 15 minutes which was pretty awesome.

As for the conditions of the course, I thought they were great. Being out that early there was a little moisture on the greens that slowed them a tad, but when they started to dry out they were quick and smooth. I found a TON of bunkers so I can say with confidence that they were all really well maintained and had the right amount of sand. Redhawk recently plugged the fairways and rough (you can tell by some little dirt clods around), but I never had any issue with it at all. It's hardly noticeable in the fairways. All in all, I'd give the condition of the course an 8 out of 10. I really enjoy tight, fast fairways, and Redhawk has those down perfectly.

I know for some the layout at Redhawk can be a little tricked up, especially the green complexes, but I've noticed them softening some of the really rough edges lately to make the course more playable. For example, the short par 4 14th (which I love!) had two HUGE links style pot bunkers in the front that they've converted to normal, shallower bunkers. It's still tough but not as ridiculous as before. I also noticed that the rough was cut a little lower which helps not only when hitting into some of those greens, but when chipping from the grass bunkers when you happen to miss greens (which I really like to do). The different sets of tees at Redhawk really make a difference, so I encourage anyone who plays there to take the cautious approach and get on the right set.

The staff has always been great with me at Redhawk, and the bar and grill has some great food. To top it all off, the beverage cart now carries Sculpin and Torpedo IPA in cans, so if you like to have a couple craft beers with you three-jacks and snap hooks, you've found the right place.

Definitely recommend printing out the GK Coupon and heading out to Redhawk. Good times all around!
