As usual SCGA is in terrific shape, greens are super,fast and hold shots, and as they are aged a little they repair easily and without marks. We had a 7:30 AM tee time,course was a little wet, but its hot and they are protecting the fairways,just moved to a dry spot a couple of times and played on. My only complaint,and its not to the SCGA, its to the golfers that eat sunflower seeds while playing. who cares? not me unless you follow someone for 18 holes that leaves the shells on the greens and ya gotta keep moving them, so, a suggestion, if you play with a knucklehead that insists on doing this,,kick him in the butt for the rest of us. The SCGA is in great shape,a good deal for the $$ and ya get treated very nicely by the staff.

A note of how marshalls should do their job, we were a 3some, a 4some teed off in front of us,but one was playing from the blues and other 3 from the whites. after 3 holes group fell behind maybe 2-3 holes. Marshall asked if the blue tee guy would mind moving back with us, he was OK with that and in a short time pace of play was once again normal. Good job by the marshall, we play her once maybe twice a month,, wish it was closer.

WHAT A FANTASTIC COURSE ! EVERY ASPECT OF THIS COURSE WAS IN TIP-TOP SHAPE. THE FAIRWAYS WHERE CUT TIGHT SO YOU WILL GET SOME EXTRA ROLL FROM EVERY SHOT. THE ROUGH WHERE PRETTY LONG (1-3), SO WHEN YOU GET INTO THE ROUGH IT TAKES A GOOD SWING TO GET OUT OF THE TALL STUFF. BUNKERS WHERE SHAPED NICELY, WITH GOOD SAND CONDITION. THE GREENS ARE SOMETHING ELSE, TRUE AND FAST. YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL ON YOUR STROKE. THEY WILL ROLL OFF THE GREEN IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL. THE ONLY UPKEEP NEEDED ARE THE TEE BOXES, BUT THAT IS EXPECTED WHEN YOU GET ALOT OF PLAY ON THEM. (W H A C K E R S). This is my favorite course to play in this area. Despite houses going up everywhere it still is a beautiful course. Fairways and rough tend to be a little thin due to so much cart traffic. The tee boxes are good, but have lots of visible divots. The greens and green surrounds are in excellent shape. You always like to see that in a golf course. Greens are firm, but hold shots very well, almost to well. It is easy to hit shots that bite and spin on the green from the fairway. I wish this course was closer to my house.

I love this course! I drive 65 miles several times per year to play this course. The bunkers are in descent shape. The tee boxes and rough are in good shape. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are awesome! I like to play the course several times in may and june because the greens are in such good shape after spring aeration. The greens are sloping, some have tiers, and they are fast (11-12 on the stimp) but will hold long shots. Read the putts from both sides of the hole to gage the speed. This is a great track with a variety of holes (up, down, open, tight, long, short). Higher handicapers and shorter hitters can enjoy this course from the white tees (6300 yards). Previous review mentioned normal Monday-Friday green fees at $63 which is for non-scga members. scga members pay $48 M-F (check web site for monthly specials). Service is great, course is great, go play it.

played today 4/29. The starter said the greens where running 12 on the stimp! The greens where awesome. I would venture to say they are the best greens I have ever played on this coast. They were smooth, fast, and true. Some might say they are extremely fast. I would have to agree, but it added a good challenge to the golf course. Played it for only $43 on special, which ends tomorrow. Even the regular price of $63 is worth it. This course is a gem. I had never played it before today and I will definately be back. The course plays shorter than the posted yardage because there are a lot of downhill tee shots. Played from the tips today and the longest iron I had in was an 8 iron (hole 18), all the rest of the par 4s where just wedges. I give this course a 9.5. The greens add the most challenge, though there are spots where accuracy off the tee is vital, but there are also some pretty wide open holes too. This course is a must play.
