2/16 using GSC voucher $74 2some joined bu brothers Eric and Tom both with a lot of game and enjoyable playing companions. Teed off on time at 845 on a rather busy day leading to a 445 POP with waiting on about every shot--but it was a nice day with a nice setting and good company. Fairways were greenish with a mix of semi-dormant grass and a kind of darker green grass that grew more in tufts. Most lies were ok with good cushion--fairways firm enough to give extra roll. Rough was patchy thick in places and non-existent i others except around the green where it was thick and longer. Tees lush and most of them level--15 blues has a slight down slope. Bunkers are being renovated completely new sand on the back 9--rather heavy thick and still some what damp--giving me fits to find the right swing out of the 4 I found--real easy for me to hit heavy as the club would not glide through the sand. Bunkers showed recent grooming but until they provide robo rakes footprints were often left where they didn't belong and some rake jobs could get an E for effort--but it is good to see that the new owner has put energy into renovation. Greens were slower and more bumpy--probably because of the planned maintenance 2/19. Friendly staff.

Played at 7:04am on Wednesday, 12/7/16, on a play/replay certificate from GolfSouthernCalifornia with GKer HmtGolfGuy. We went out early to facilitate the replay round and to beat the Men’s Club, scheduled out between 8am and 10am. There have been several reviews here in the past couple weeks – maybe others had certificates, or maybe they were just early birds like GKer weber. We played the blue tees (6,332/70.9/128) behind a threesome that moved along pretty well, finishing in just over 3.5 hr.

The weather was cool and somewhat cloudy, and everything in the morning round was pretty wet. Not too much rollout in the fairway, rough could be messy, and greens were only medium fast. The ball always had a halo of grass clippings on it, combined with light sand on the greens, which apparently had a recent lite dusting. Mower debris everywhere, joined on the greens by shoe debris, resulted in a lot of scattered clumps on the greens – you had to decide how many of these you wanted to try to clear.

Greens were firm and had good coverage – I didn’t see any bare areas. Fairways are dormant grass, and are firm; as a result, it’s tight lies everywhere, especially fun when trying to chip/pitch to some of the elevated greens. Rough was generally short but could be bushy around trees, along hazards, or in random patches. Tees were mostly flat and firm but had also been lightly sanded. Traps on the front nine are still barely playable – they were wet, thin and hard-packed; some were marked as GUR. Back-side bunkers have recently received new sand and all are fluffy and soft, including fairway bunkers(!).

There are lots of rundown/bare areas along fairway entrances and around greens from carts and equipment – the course would benefit from implementation of a ‘gate’ system for entry and exit, to reduce random wear and better manage the turf conditions along the fairways and around greens.

Our second round began at 11:07am behind two foursomes; we were joined on #5 by a local twosome who caught us, as play was slower than the early morning. After the Men’s Club had gone through the greens had a lot more unrepaired ballmarks and there were many more unraked footprints in the traps. Overall conditions were drier – greens were noticeably faster.

Ron had to leave to get home so we stopped after the 3rd nine – unfortunate, because I think the back nine has more of the interesting holes. Still recommended.

Played 12/7 with dconnally using his unlimited play coupon. We intended it to be a warm-up for Rams Hill, but both of us are hoping the "bad warm-up/good performance" saying holds true! Conditions overall ranged from acceptable to good. Couple tees weren't level but coverage was generally good. Fairways were thin but playable (though there are holes/divots out there, dconnally did an excellent job of finding them!). Rough varied widely - a LOT of dirt areas (turf reduction?!?) and the grass ranged from almost fairway level to "Where'd my ball go?!?" Bunkers on front were thin/dirt but back nine were the complete opposite and nice to play from. Greens seemed to have a little sand residue and a fair amount of mowing debris but rolled pretty good - medium fast to start and quite quick once the greens dried a little. Too many unrepaired ball marks but that seems to be the "norm" nowadays. Whoever set the pin placements on the back nine is a sadistic little #&*!, most were tucked in NASTY spots with virtually no room for error. PoP was good for the first time around, just over 3 hours. Went for the free replay and realized at the 2nd tee it was going to be a lot slower so we were looking at about 4.5 hours or better. That (combined with the "outstanding" play) helped us decide to bail out ofter 27 holes. First time here and I liked the course layout, nice mix of holes and topography. A little too far for me to include in my regular rotation but definitely one worth the occasional extended drive.

Fairways typically give tight lies. 15 is so sloped and bare, my tee shot into the right rough, rolled into the fairway, and approximately 70 yards into the hazard. Both groups in front and behind me had the same issue. POP 4 hours, but waited on every hole on the back nine. Bunkers are being repaired, 50/50 chance for good sand.

Course was in decent winter type conditions with dormant fairways, which provided lots of roll. Greens were for the most part good, with a few being kind of bumpy. Rough, what there was of it was thin.

This course provides a lot of fun holes and has a lot of nice "visuals" Always enjoy the finishing hole! Not really much I can add to the prior review.

Fairways in late summer condition firm but with generally good cushion--mostly brownish with some green and had lots of roll. No rough to speak of. Tees were generally lush some having divots The bunkers were OK, some had good sand others were hardpan, soon to be filled with good sand. Greens are quick but a little bumpy. very friendly staff. POP was just short of 5 hrs, as would be expected for a tourney of 16 groups.

11/6 using GSC $37 voucher on a beautiful fall am with a POP of 420 generally moving at a steady pace. 1st time back here since the club is under new ownership. Fairways in late summer condition firm but with generally good cushion--mostly brownish with some green--lies were ok. No rough to speak of except around and especially behind the greens. Tees generally lush some having a little slope following the overall terrain. The course is working on the bunkers, having replaced the sand on about 1/2 with the rest scheduled to be completed in the next 3-4 weeks. The new sand has some good potential but currently is very soft to the point that the ball sinks and even when it rolls in the consistency of the sand makes for challenging outs--really need to accelerate and not hit heavy. New sand will need to compact more and will require a lot of attention and grooming--also quality raking upon exit. Greens are quick but a little bumpy. Friendly staff.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Staff were simply amazing/friendly. I don't think I've ever seen a cart service as often as we did this day...Wow!!!
Practice putting green adjacent to the clubhouse in great shape. Driving range elevated grass hitting areas with practice chipping/bunker area nearby.
Course was pretty full and pace of play managed pretty well with wait delays on about 4 holes, but the company and weather and players both forward and aft just took it all in stride.
Tee boxes (Forward) were quite shaggy from new growth, but still quite level with minimal divot damage.
Fairways were pretty tight, rolled forever, and quite visually challenging -- loved it.
Bunkers were mixed bag...some I believe may have been under repair/unplayable; others were a bit thin but still playable; and others ample sand, yet earlier golfers poor etiquette showed by lack of raking them...I just don't get it!!
Rough was a nice length, some areas a bit thin, some soggy; minimal GUR areas.
Greens were soft, held shots well. Putting was medium fast/fast; bumpy bumpy probably due to later a.m. tee time, making getting straight putts to the hole a test of patience/luck/skill? Minimal unrepaired ball damage.
Some of the beautiful water features were dried up; in support of water conservation efforts. Adequate facilities available throughout the course/i.e. ball washers/water & restroom stations. No GPS on carts. Overall truly enjoyed the course. Course knowledge a plus. Truly enjoyed this course and would certainly go back again..I'd even recommend a GK Event here if possible. Interesting layout and challenges for beginner to advanced golfers. Just this novice golfin gals impression. Will be teeing up here again soon. ;)

Thanks to the wonderful alerts avail here @ greenskeeper, booked an early a.m. tee time at Glen Ivy on Sunday 9/25 just before the greens were scheduled to be aerated. Like most of the nearby courses (Eagle Glen, Champions, etc.), the staff are very friendly/helpful. Nice grass range to warm up on. No lights so you can't see if you're there before sunrise but I don't mind since I warm up just to swing a golf club before teeing off. Starter knows his business well and managed to accommodate people (a couple wanted to play as just a two-some and he found a way to make it work) while still getting people set off at a brisk pace.

I lucked out and got to be first out as a single with enough dawn twilight so that I didn't lose any balls or have to use a glow-ball. Powered through the first 3 holes to make sure to get out fast and then took plenty of time with the rest of the round. Never saw anyone behind me, really got to line up every shot, sometimes hit multiple tee shots and 2nd shots (testing which ball I like better/performs better), and finished in about 2 hrs.

All I can say is that I really really enjoyed this course. Fairways were in great shape and weren't water logged like so many courses are early in the morning so I got a ton of roll on drives. Plus, they've got a good number of elevated tee shots (some with really scenic views) that, combined with the roll, can help average drivers (like me) feel all big-boy with 300+ yd drives. The biggest plus was the condition of the greens (cannot understand why they didn't put off punching for a while). These greens when I've played were up there with the best I've ever seen or played on anywhere. The couple of bunkers I found were in great shape also with plenty of fluffy sand (although I did see a few of the fairway bunkers looking a bit rock-hard).

Overall, great course, good value, friendly staff. Had one of the most enjoyable rounds I've ever had and will definitely be back soon (well, after the greens heal!).
