I arrived at the course for an 0800 tee time after warming up at Eagle Glen. I had read the earlier reviews about the course and most were on target.

The pros: Interesting hole diversity with elevation changes, fairly wide open, few trees, pleasant staff. The cart girl was checking in every couple of holes, greens rolling true without too many untended ball marks (as previously reported). Parking near the starter, new carts.

The cons: Too short. I'm a 16.3 index, drive 230-270 yards and was bored by the white tees. Earlier reports had said that "it was plenty of course" from the men's tees. What a joke. There was a very ho-hum par three playing 87 yards! That said, some tee placements were playing way up, some way back. The greens are very hard and can be frustrating: my best friend (normally a very steady player) missed a 3-footer to win a hole early in the round and lost it-he just picked up and quit. The course is situated along the 15 fwy in a narrow corridor and will likely become infamous as the windiest course in the area. Wind was a significant factor on most shots during a morning round-watch out twilight play!

I will not go back to Dos Lagos, but wish it the best of luck to take traffic away from Trilogy, Eagle Glen, Goose (my area favorite).

Not really to "up in arms" with this course. The starter really should of space out the tee times. Not very enjoyable with waiting and people on your back. FYI, there is no range to warm up, no club house (typical for new courses) and no yardage markers. There are "dirt trails" next to the course on the back 9, so you might see a couple of dirt bikes pulling wheelies on the cart paths to the trail. NO JOKE. In summary, this course is a nice course to learn during the weekday, but not a course to be challenged. The Blues are playing from the White and the Champion Tees are not playing yet. I will go back for $39 during the week. If this course raises its prices when a club house, range, club house, etc... is built, NO WORTH it...Rather go to Eagle across the street.

Been looking forward to playing this new track for a few weeks now. I've read all of the prior eleven reviews, but - I've remained determined to keep an open mind and give the course the benefit of the doubt.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.

I quite liked the track, overall. The fairways were "plush' - I don't mean "lush" - I mean "plush" - like really thick padded carpet. I'm not enough of a horticulturist to be able to tell you what "kind" of grass it is - but it's really spongy. The ball sits up nice - and - if you hit the ball fat - you don't really take a divot - you just sort of "tear a hole in the carpeting". Interesting turf.

The greens were hard...they remind me very much of when Goose Creek first opened and how hard their greens were befoe they "took root". "Fixing" ball marks is an experience. About 1/4" down the soil is rock hard, and tough to get a divot-tool down into. Greens are not mature enough to hold shots all that well....it took me about nine holes to figure that out and hit short of the pin. Learn that early, and you will score better.

Yeah...the tee-boxes are really hard...you will break 18-tees - I did.

It's not a particularly pretty golf course....not many trees to speak of, and no really mature trees. And the surroundings are not much to look at, either. One end of the course on the front-side borders an old mine...and the only real views are of the 15-freeway and a couple of shopping centers.

Lots of elevation changes (especially on the back-nine) Note: On the score card...the little descriptions about each hole are worth reading and paying attention to. It gives distance to the trouble-spots and gives you a general idea on how th play the hole.

Which is good - because - as others have said - the distance markings are spartan at best. Red, white, blue and yellow "stones" in the fairway...and markers on the cart path. They should really do something about this is a major cause of slow play. I'm sure if enough people make noise, they'll get this taken care of.

Saw the cart-girl 5-6 times, which is good.

Not to beat a dead horse - but - a simple trailer is IT for snacks, pro-shop, starter, cashier.

The whole place sort of had the feel of a place that was not really ready to open...but something (probably something economic in scope) caused them to open the doors prematurely.

I'm willing to give them time to totsally get their act together. Overall, I am not displeased with the golfing experience or the course itself. The layout is a little quirky (sort of like they didn't quite have enough room to "shoehorn" 18 holes into the real-estate provided.

Not having driving range is a bit of a pain...I drove up the street to the driving range on Temescal Canyon...but - we had an 8:07 start-time - and the range on Temescal was closed. One of our group went to warm-up at Eagle Glen, which is another possibility.

The starters were on top of things, making sure they knew where each group was and got them into line to tee off.

Pace of play was actually not bad...four-and-a-half hourse (we got out at around 8:15 and finished at 12:45. Not bad for a Saturday round.

Dos Lagos is certainly worth a try. I'm sure I'll be back.

I played at Diamond Valley when it first opened and found the tee boxes to be hard, I expected the same here but was pleasantly surprised. I found the greens to be fair. The course is challenging but was fun. Our group plays ever Friday at a different course each week. We will be back to this course. Lot of work to be done here but I'm sure it will come along.

OK, I played today, round took 5 1/2 hours, its a nice looking course that will take some time to develop, they will get signs, yardage markers, bathrooms, ball washers, etc. Dont see any room really for a driving range in the future. Tight course that with the wind makes for some interesting shots. Some words of advise to the management, your starter in the trailer is a first class jerk. We showed up 20 minutes prior to our start time since we knew there wasnt a range, and the starter barks at my buddy that we are late, we need to check 30 minutes before our start time, and we look at the first tee box and see 8 carts waiting for the box. There are a lot of better courses in your area with superior Customer Service, with employees like the one acting as your starter/cashier you will fail.

Customer Service gets a 3 because at least the cart girl was nice and your marshalls were also.

Ditto the conditions of the course. The layout takes getting used to and the design is very good. Tight landing areas and falloffs on some holes and very open fairways on others. Always pay attention especially when the wind is blowing and it was today! Rough is bermuda and fluffy.
If your ball sinks in it, you may be for the hole too. The beginning of the "Ridge Route" is an uphill par 5 and after that it becomes attention getting for planning tee to green and visually appealing for the highest points of the whole complex. Enjoy the scenery and play wisely. I have to come back to catch a windless day! Water features are here and there and add to the drama of those holes swings. Ya, the amenities are extremely spartan,and the lack of yardage markings can irritate, but remember that the game was meant to be played that way. This place will develop into a great course.

Bad things first. No shade to be had anywhere. No water on course, but, cart girls seen 10 times on course (weekday). No clubhouse, but, across the street are some fine establishments. No tee signs and intermediate yardage markers, but, 250, 200, 150 and 100 markers in fairway and cart path. Now the good. Tee boxes level, firm but not hard, greens firm and true (got to get that natural break towards the valley worked out). Lots of ball marks, but that's the caliber of player it invites with such a reasonable rate, $37 twilight when I played Thurs. Lots of elevation changes, especially on the back so you'd better be warmed up by then. Most holes have a side that's out of play, hills, OB, or water (Temescal creek). Contoured greens and some pin placements can be nasty. Good sand. Lots of roll in fairways that are anything but flat. No trees to speak of, and some fairways need a a placement shot for a good green approach. Back nine has a lot of elevation changes that make it difficult in the afternoon wind (and there will be wind).
Clubhouse is a trailer, and the only window doubles as a pro shop and drink counter. Get your drinks from the beverage cart, don't expect food yet. No driving range, and there may not be, so use the Temescal driving range down the road before you show up. Putting green is the only practice area. Good thing, there is only a few steps from parking lot to club-trailer. Staff very friendly. In spite of having 2 years of waiting for it to open, and not having the usual amenities you'd expect, this par 70 course is more challenging than I expected. It's on the border of being a challenge to Eagle Glen and Trilogy if you just want a golf course and not the fluff. The vacant land next to the course is for the hotel and condos. Don't expect a clubhouse, just a double trailer. I hope it matures, (and I hope skycaddie will map it soon).

Played today 8/10 as a threesome, starter told us a round was taking 4 1/4 hrs, started at 8:45am, finished around 2:10pm! Play was slow due to two groups in front of us playing from the Blues! When after watching them play all day, maybe they should have played from the Reds. We played the Whites and found the course to play fair and challenging(our average handicap is 10). Otherwise a fair priced and interesting course with alot of elevation changes on some of the holes. Wind will definitely come into play in the afternoon! No clubhouse or driving range and the lack of facilities(water, bathrooms) was an inconvience. Take water if you are going to play here! I will have to think about it before deciding to play here again, although the price is fair!
