This I believe is as close to a resort course as you can get in south-west Riverside county. Conditions were close to immaculate, top notch practice areas open to those that play, and a few one-of-kind tee shots that'll make you want to scratch your head. Lots of elevation changes, oak trees and bunkers in the middle of fairways that make you want to do your homework prior to your round. Afternoons tend to be a bit breezy complicating the higher elevation tees a whole lot more than they already are!!! If there was an adage that said, "the more it cost the tougher the course", then this would be the place. Although the $$'s to play has come down dramatically since it opened, still look for deals, especially on their web site if you know someone in the area. This is one course everyone should play & experience at least once!!

Played here for the first time and was pretty impressed with the course. There are some gimmicky holes and in hindsight I probably would have gone back to the copper tees. The blacks just seemed to really screw with my distances off the tee. Everyone was super nice and helpful here from the guys at the bag drop to the bartender.

Greens rolled very smooth but I thought they were a little slow for my taste. I would imagine they will get a little quicker over the next couple of weeks when they are rolled and cut. I believe everything was aerated almost a month ago.

Fairways were great to hit off. Thought with the dry conditions it would have been firm and tight but really nicely mowed and not as firm as I thought. Rough is not overly penalizing but had some bite. There are the canyons however and if you in there good luck, it's rattlesnake heaven in there.

Nice practice facility there too, grass tees on the range and a separate short game area and putting green.

Overall enjoyable round and would look forward to going back there.

Nice course but it was a painfully slow round. We waited on almost every shot and just imagine, we played on a THURSDAY, 3/5/2015.
We teed off around 8:00 am and had a group of 20 of us golfers following another group of about 12 golfers.
At the turn (10th hole tee) the nice starter in the morning turned into the Golf Marshall 'devil'. He told us to speed it up, and told us that we were 58 minutes behind. We told him we are keeping up with the other groups but to no avail.
Later on in the round the same Marshall followed us from the 12 - 15 holes reminding that we were behind. That was really unnecessary after all, we did PAY for the round ($85.00).
The WORSE part was that on the 15th tee, he told us to skip the 16th hole and move on to the 17th hole. What an ass! When was the last time you ever played 17 holes?

My advice: 'Don't Play here... the Staff sucks, and maybe the Pechanga Indians don't care except for taking your Money $$$!!'

I pretty much love this course. Awsome views and conditions were great. I wouldn't pay rack rate, though. We had $69 deal which is very fair way worth it. POP was very nice at 4 hours. Course conditions: greens were very nice, held shots for the most part, a couple were a little hard. They putted real smooth and were fairly fast, with a few ball marks. Tee boxes were nice and level, grass was just a little thin, but always found a great spot to tee it up. I found two traps and they were real nice, good soft sand. Rough was not too penal, a little thin and not too long. Fairways were awesome, nice and lush without many divots at all.

All and all a great day and highly recommended, only thing I don't really care for the course are holes 9 and 18. They are a little quirky and got penalized for hitting two great drives. 9 I ended up behind that tree on the left and pretty much jail, had to punch out and left with a long iron to the green. 18 also hit a perfect drive ended up past the trees on the right by the cart path and then a perfect shot by the hole which was in front, hard bounce forward and now in that cavernous valley in the middle of the green, three putt bogey scratching my head. Oh well, you know I will be back, love this place.

Played Journey for the first time this past Monday, it was great. We used an underpar coupon, so $85pp + a replay, which we used.

We lucked out because it had rained the night before & scared many away. Not a drop of rain on the course from 7:35a-5:00p when we finished #36. By our second round, i don't think there was another group on the course. The only negative was cart path only the entire day which meant A LOT of walking for our foursome.

The course, greens, teeboxes, sand, everything was in excellent condition. I would have no problem playing again at the $85 rate & I do think it's worth the rack rate based on the facilities & condition, let alone the experience of this place & the views.

Played today 2/20/2015 for the first time, tee time at 740 am. POP for the first 18 was decent at 4 hours and 20 minutes. This course overall is immaculate. Was told by the starter the greens were running at an 11. I would agree with the practice green and a few holes, but not the course overall. Really enjoyed the views of this course from some of the tees (5,6 and 18 standout) to the several bridges throughout the course. This is not a course for beginners, it will eat you alive. You must stay on the track otherwise you will lose your Pro V1's quickly. I lost a couple of sleeves during the 27 we ended up playing, but my friend easily lost an 18 pack and a lot of skins too. When we finished the first 18 we booked our second round and was told we could not go back out for two hours. Was told they were unusually busy for a Friday afternoon. Okay, so we sat and had lunch. Great food and decent size portions. However, we sat on the patio and watched a twosome tee off about an hour later. I went and asked the man working the pro shop and he told me it was a threesome. I said it was a twosome and would have liked to join them to get our second round going. He was very uninterested in what I had to say and referred me to the starter. Anyways... more about the course. There are some very gimmicky holes on this course 7,9,10 and 18 come to mind. On 7 there is a tree in the middle of the fairway about 210 yards out. Mind you I cleared the tree both times, but the fairway slopes downward after the tree and runs into a ravine; it just seems stupid. Number 9 has trees almost all the way across the fairway from left to right with a narrow fairway on the right with a wrought iron fence running down the right hand side. I hit a couple of not great, but decent drives and found myself sitting behind these huge oak trees. The 10th and 18th greens you have to see just for the laugh. The 10th green looks like an empty swimming pool (on the right side) and the 18th green looks like a skate board ramp my friend use to have in his backyard. This course is well groomed, but I will play Cross Creek, The Retreat or Pala Mesa over this course any day in this area.

We played the morning of December 26th after about a 1.5 hour frost delay. We used an Underpar voucher so we paid $95/person. The course conditions, layout, and overall facilities probably warrant the higher than average greens fees but I wouldn't pay much more. They have a grass driving range that is included with the greens fees. The course conditions were all good on this day. The tee boxes were all lush and level. The fairways were also lush and well maintained. The bunkers I was in had good coverage and the sand was nice and fine. The greens were also nice and were quick and rolling smoothly. The course has a fun layout with numerous forced carries. There are several signature holes with nice elevated views of the Temecula valley. I'd be remiss to not mention the high quality golf carts. They were equipped with a nice gps system and nice contoured seats. The cart girl came around so much that I wondered if she was trying to get us drunk ??. I'd definitely recommend the course.

played 11/11. the good, best practice area around. the bad, 3rd out, played in 5 1/2 plus hours, no marshal on course. the starter has no idea what he is doing, GPS went out twice during round, conditions are so-so, but, for what they charge, that is the ugly part, I understand that aeration, overseeding, etc. are still taking shape, but. to charge what they do, One, and done for me...a real disappointment...

Played Saturday 11/8/14 at 9am using an underpar unlimited play deal ($95ea). Staff was excellent all around from the moment we got there till the time we left. My playing partner forgot to buy balls before going though so he just bought a sleeve there. $20 for a sleeve of Z-Stars! Make sure you have enough when you come here. Driving range and practice areas are great. Tee boxes were very thin all throughout the course and a lot of them had major bare spots. Rough for the most part was lush and good coverage but there were a lot of bare areas and very patchy areas. Fairways were good but again some thin areas and GUR. I was in one bunker that had soft sand but one of my playing partners said he hit some hardpan underneath on one. Greens were rolling good at medium speed (pro shop said a 10) but there were a lot of un-repaired ball marks. It was kind of upsetting to see the conditions this bad here however it is still conditioned better than 90% of courses out there. It just wasn't as perfect as the last time I came out. Layout is still very fun to me. Lots of wide open landing areas but also a lot of risk/reward shots out there too especially approaching the greens. First round was just under 5 hours and there was a little bit of waiting but 5 hours on this course isn't as long as other courses considering distance in-between holes. We ate some lunch after the first round then checked in with the pro shop and was able to go right back out with a fresh cart. Second round we flew through the first 8 holes but then came to a stop with a couple of foursomes out ahead of us so we packed it in. One last note, on the 4th hole there are some tree's in play in bounds. My friend's ball went in those tree's and he played out of them but while walking to his ball he tripped and got caught up by some very rusty barbed wire on the ground mixed in with the leaves. I picked it all up and put it on the other side of the path where no one would get hurt on it. Luckily he only got scratched so we didn't say anything.
