Just another beautiful day at Nado. Fairways are absolutely perfect, greens are very nice, got a little bumpy later in the day due to the heavy traffic this place gets, but they are holding very nice and fairly quick. Tee boxes just received a fertilizer with pretty coarse compost so those weren't that great, but in a couple weeks they should be real nice. Definitely should get out there while the conditions are so great. Staff was awesome, bar is the best, great happy hour.

Great day at Nado. I've never seen the fairways look so good, they were perfect! They punched the greens about a month ago and they are playing well, smooth and holding. I didn't find a sandtrap so can't say how those were, but the other guys in my group said they were just fine. Teeboxes were just fine, too. All in all the course is in the best shape I have ever seen, those fairways were as good as it gets right now. In another week, the greens and teeboxes should be perfect also. Great happy hour with amazing barstaff as well.

Played at noon today. Conditions are looking good. The greens are fully healed and rolling true. The tee boxes and fairways were sharp with few bare spots. I wasn't in any bunkers today but the ones I saw looked good. Windy today. Solid 6-15 mph the whole time made for tricky distance gauging into some of the holes facing due west or east. POP was around 4:45, not the worst for this course.

Just got 12 holes in starting at 3:30. We were at about a half hour a hole pace until 10 where people obviously dropped out. So in the next 30 minutes we got 3 holes in on the back.

Just got 12 holes in starting at 3:30. We were at about a half hour a hole pace until 10 where people obviously dropped out. So in the next 30 minutes we got 3 holes in on the back.

Tee boxes: OK, level mostly.
Fairways: Pretty good actually, never had a bad lie in the fairway.
Rough: Just enough to make you think about how the ball will react.
Traps: Decent, mostly looked like hard sand, but smooth.
Greens: Summertime, late afternoon. Slow, bumpy, ball marked (I had a couple inside 5' go sideways on me).

Cheap muni that under the right conditions can really be fun . . . very scenic.
It was, besides Torrey, the coolest course weather wise, but an hour for 2 holes is a bit much. I think when it cools off the crowd will thin out a bit . . . but for the fees the ask $35 for 18 and $15 at twilight the crowds will always remain.

Note: With the cheap cost come more, as I put it, "non-golfers". People that don't play much and take awhile to play.

Played 9/1/13 for first time and I would have to concur with the earlier reviews the past few months. Cool location that gets tons of play by the lucky locals. Conditions are good for a muni but the greens continue to be MUCH slower than they look. Pretty wide open and not overly long from the looks on the tee box but there are several holes that have subtle doglegs and hide potential trouble if you are unaware of them. With a little experience and lack of wind, this place is really susceptible low scores. If you don't mind a 5 hour round at a location that has a tropical feeling (beach views/bikini's!) without the exotic price, I recommend that you give this place a try...can't wait to play there again.

I played twilight Friday 6/28 for $15, which is probably the best deal in SD.

Rat-Patrol covered it pretty well, but I would stress the slowness of the greens. I play here quite a bit and typically they are pretty good, but last week they were bumpy and slow. Not terrible by any means, just a little shaggy. I found the fairways to be pretty good, a few bare spots but not bad. Rough is spotty, no real defined line between rough and fairway. It's typically not very penal but you can find a few deep areas.

You can let it rip here but for me it never really suits my eye that well. A lot of very subtle dog leg rights so a cut shot off the tee (righty) helps. Unfortunatley that is not my strong suit.

You can expect slow play but you can also expect excellent views, great clubhouse, and a friendly muni vibe.

First it's a muni, one that gets a LOT of play. The price is right and the location is beautiful.

First it's a muni, one that gets a LOT of play. The price is right and the location is beautiful.

Now for conditions.
Tee boxes: level and, like the rest of the course, variable as far as grass coverage.
Fairways: relatively decent, for a muni, lots of variance as far coverage is concerned. Ranging from extremely tight lies from hardpan, to lush lies where the ball sits up nicely.
Sand traps: The traps run the gamut from hard dirt (which defeats the purpose of it being a "sand trap"), to thick heavy sand and a few actually had nice light white sand that you could play from (I know I'm sounding a bit like Sergio here) . . . if you find enough bunkers you'll eventually find one that is playable! I wish courses kept their bunkers in better condition!
Greens: At this time slooooow (compared to what I'm use to there. Pretty smooth surfaces (although no one seems to fix their ball marks there!), the ball rolled decently, for the ,most part . . . but again, they were sloooow.
Rough: Again variable. Hard pan to lush.
POP: like the greens, slooooow, a little over 5 hours. It was a Sunday afternoon.

Overall, for the price ($35), not bad at all. It's just a nice muni course that gets a LOT of play. I didn't want to wait for twilight which for $15 is a great deal. Yes, I will be back, but I usually only go there as a last resort . . . I usually don't plan to go there, I just end up there . . . which isn't altogether a bad place to end up!

Played Friday afternoon for $15 walking. Course is in much better shape than 3 months ago. Fairways and tees are good and the greens are coming along. Greens are still recovering from being punched but roll just fine. One of the best deals in town, played about a 4:45 pace on a Friday afternoon which isn't bad.

Very flat layout so its an easy walk. Great views of the bay and coronado bridge. Highly recommended course to anyone looking for a central, inexpensive, well cared for course with outstanding views
