The course is in great shape. Greens are smoother than I expected considering the amount of play this course gets. Fairways and rough are in great shape. Nothing really to complain about other than one of the guys I was paired with insisted on hitting extra shots because he was "working on" his swing. Would have been closer to a 4hr round rather than 4.5 if we kept pace.

Played last Saturday. Place was getting geared up for the Junior tournament this week. Course was in great shape. I think the rough was cut down a little more than usual (probably to give the juniors a little easier time). I also thought the greens were a little slower than normal but I thought they were smooth. You just needed to get used to the pace. My only problem was the marshall wasn't enforcing the pace of play. We were on the 11th tee and could see a group in the fairway on #13, the next group was on the green of 15. Normally they are out enforcing the pace of play but I'm not sure if because of all the junior activity going on that maybe they didn't have anyone to go out there. We still finished in about 4 hours 45 minutes. I'm looking forward to my tee time this Saturday.

I played last friday 6/18/10. Torrey Pines South is an absolute treat to play. The course is in great condition right now but it was incredibly soft. I was very suprised at how long the course was playing with the softness of the fairways and greens and also with the marine layer the ball just does not go very far. I found myself coming up a full club short on many shots. I can't wait to get out here again though. There weren't very many people on the course and we finished in about 4 1/2 hrs. I love this course!!

Played on 6/15 with a morning tee time around 9 am. Took a little less than 4 1/2 to play 18. Course is in great shape. Fairways, greens, tee boxes and sand were in great shape. Greens were a little fast with grain to it. Loved the ocean views from some of the holes. Water came into play on 18 on approach to the green. South course was not as busy as the North course this day. Course does not return back to clubhouse after you finish 9 but there was snack bar/restroom at the turn. Didn't care for view of air conditioning unit on hole 10. Rough was brutal where you only saw the tops of your ball. Lot of sand traps on the south. Loved playing here.

I had much higher expectations for this course. I found the holes pretty bland. The views are awesome (near the ocean), but there is little strategy to this golf course. I was somewhat wild that day, but I never faced a tree limb in the way. The long par 4's are all extremely difficult, but every green has openings without any trap coverage. Water only comes into play at the 18th hole. The greens were tough in places. The bunkers really lacked sand, to me is unforgiveable.

I really think there are much better courses out there for someone playing from out of the area. Maybe I am being too harsh, but I was somewhat bored by the course, did not care for the turf in the fairway, and certainly felt the bunkers were lame.

Got out on Sunday at 11:20 and there was no one ahead of us until we caught a group on 7 who let us pass on hole 8. We didn't catch another group until 11 but the pace was fine as we finished in 4 hours. Awesome pace of play considering the weekend. Greens are still very fast. They show some signs of the areation from last month but I still thought the greens rolled very smooth (it was more of a comestic thing I guess). Fairways, tee boxes, and rough were all great. The rough was thick in places and sometimes you just had to hack it out other times you could get a good lie. I was in a couple of bunkers 2 were good quality but one seemed to have some wet sand. Customer service was outstanding as the marshall was out moving people along and even helped one player in our group find his ball. Enjoyed my time out there, can't wait to get back.

I last played this course in December 09. The course is always a challenge. I enjoyed the views so much that it was hard to focus on my game. It was nice to play a course that has well groomed bunkers. The rough wasn't too deep, and the greens were exceptionally fast. If you can keep your ball in the fairways, you'll do fine.

Played Friday 3/26/10, #11 per 3 closed and had to pay full price! Course is in good shape except greens (pluged two weeks ago or so) but run ok. Happy I wasn't paying for this!
