Rode the blues this morning 4/7/25 with my buddy Ron in 3 hrs 5 minutes passing a 4some on 12 tee and a 2some on 14 tee. Cooler start in the high 50s with a steady 10-15mph wind for most of the back nine. Met by Stacy in the proshop who is super friendly. Rolled a couple putts and we each hit about 10 warm up shots on there grass range. La P is in great shape with soft receptive greens that still rolled quick and were in great shape! Rated 8.5/10. Fairways were in very good shape with perfect green lush lies. I noticed 4 sand bottles in each cart which is great for repair and reseeding of divots. U can tell members take care of this course. Many of the fairways are undulating and can slope even well struck drives into the rough. Rated 8.5/10 My buddy stated they re-furbished all the bunkers in 2021 during covid with new sand and they are beautiful and contain the right amount of thick beach sand. Rated 8/10. Tees were mostly level and in good shape. Rated 7/10 Rough can be challenging and thick. It's in good shape. Rated 9/10. Layout is awesome and challenging here. 73 qualified for local us open qualifying here last year from a mix of blue/black tees. The front nine gives you a couple scoring opportunities whereas as hang on tight on the back nine. Lots of elevation changes, some doglegs, some carries required for tee shots. A ball strikers delight. The most amazing part of the course for me is the peace and quiet amongst rolling Vineyard hills. The camera comes out of the bag on top of 6 tee overlooking the whole property. If you want to test your game come play LA Pirana. Highly recommended!

Played here on Tuesday 9/24. It's a beautiful course surround by farmland. Not a lot of amenities at the course. No cart service. No cart GPS to navigate the course. Lots of blind corners so GPS or course knowledge is a must. No paved cart paths so watch for signs or you will drive the wrong way. Small clubhouse and cafe at the end and at the turn. Not that many restroom facilities at the course.

So the course is nicknamed La Pirahna and I can see why. It was difficult. It has a lot of ups and downs. Greens were fast with a lot of undulation. Lots of narrow fairways. Roughs had tall grass and if you land there, good luck finding your ball. Again course knowledge is a must.

Rode 36 holes today 8/5/24 from the blues with my buddy Ron. We played through 2 groups on our first round and one group on the 2nd round for an average pop both rounds around 3 hrs 15 minutes. Weather started out around 59 degrees for round 1 with little wind and the afternoon round peaked at 74 degrees with about a 15mph wind. Perfect golf weather. Split a small bucket, rolled some putts. Friendly staff got us out right on time.

Had not been year in two and a half years. Too long for my favorite golf course. Conditions were really solid and should come out to an 8.5 overall.

Greens were in great pure shape rolling beautiful. Saw the lines great today which helped me shoot my lowest score at LA P during our second round. My buddy who plays here on a regular basis stated they were rolling around a 10.5 stimp which was accurate. They held approach shots nicely. During our morning round we saw the maintenance crew really watering the greens. Rated 8.5/10

Fairways were lush and in great shape. Rated 8.5/10

Tees were in good shape mostly level, lush. Rated 8.5/10

Greenside and Fairway rough was thick, manageable and beautiful. Star of the show. Rated 9/10

Was in 2 Fairway bunkers that were raked and in perfect shape to hit full shots out of.

Highly endorse LA P right now. Great scenery, layout, Conditions, POP. They have a golfmoose coupon and a nice priced replay rate at this time.

First off on what I was concerned might be a foggy morning, but by 7am, everything had cleared, and it was beautiful morning. As one of my very favorite courses, it is always a joy to play La Purisima. Despite having played here many times, it is always a treat to return. Beginning the day dealing with Staci in the pro shop is a real plus. She is the perfect person to have at that position.

The course was in very nice condition. A number of the fairways were still rather wet from the sprinklers, but otherwise were excellent. Greens rolled very well but were slower than I expected and remember them. Bunkers were great - love the sand here.

Last time I played here they had gas carts, which I do not care for, but they have been replaced by nice quiet electric carts. Much better! While I did not play very well, which is an understatement, I walked off the course totally having enjoyed myself. I think that if you can play poorly and still enjoy your round, that speaks volumes about the course.

Played 6-3-24 walking as a single on a really nice overcast calm day. Tees were in really good shape, best I have seen them in awhile. Fairways were very green and lush with great lies and decent roll out. Some damage to the 10th fairway where the heavy rains had washed some sand across , but not really in play. Rough was in real nice condition, about 2 inches along fairways and a little longer around greens. It is very lush and thick, can be a club grabber if the ball sits down. Greens were in awesome shape, rolling medium/fast and smooth, and playing semi-soft. Overall great conditions, and well worth playing.

Course is still wet. Cart Path Only for 1 and 2 and the dirt paths were just mud.

Everything was saturated still. Fairways were very soft with most of my tee shots hitting and either plugging or rolling backwards and taking a divot. Good grass coverage, but definitely very wet.

Rough was the same...worked really well for cleaning the club on the way back to the cart. Good coverage, just very wet.

Greens...very inconsistent. First few were very slow then sped up a bit, then back to slow. Because we finished so quickly (3 hours teeing off at 730) they never really had a chance to dry out. They were smooth and looked as though they'd roll really well, just very wet.

Bunkers...was in 1 greenside which had next to no sand. Easy to get out of but very thin. Most others had a ton of standing water so we just pulled out when not able to hit.

Love this course, will Def be back. Wish they'd post more signs about poison oak...particularly on the back 9. Just bring extra balls and don't go looking for yours unless you're going for the course record.

Tees were in good condition, mostly level with minimal divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in really good condition, very lush with great lies and decent roll out. Rough was in good shape, 2-3 inches longer than fairways and very thick and lush. Was in a couple of greenside bunkers that had a good layer of soft white sand. Greens were in really good condition, playing semi-soft and rolling medium/fast and true. Highly recommend playing.

Wind picked up on the back 9 of the am round, and was really windy the 2nd round, as expected. Greens running true, about a fast 10. Haven't played here in 20 years, so I was excited to get out, and it did not disappoint. The course is a little bare bones, but playable. Bunkers were amazingly perfect, though I did get 2 nasty plugged balls. Had a great time.

Played 5-7-23 early morning walking as a single in about 3 1/2 hours with some minor waiting ,but nothing to complain about. Course is still in really good shape from tee to green. Great lies in the fairways with nice padding. Rough 2-3 inches and thick. Bunkers really nice white fluffy sand. Tees lush and level. Greens rolling smooth at medium pace. This is one of the best courses in the state that every golfer should play at least once.
