Greens are rolling true, but surprisingly slower than at any time in recent memory. Bunkers are really beginning to reflect the work of the superintendent over the past 4 months. Will be glad when the hardscaping is completed on 3; it's a bit unsightly right now. Even in a 20+ mph wind, it's worth a drive any day of the week.

I think the staff are feeling like they can't do anything wrong. The great complements are because of the conditions and design of the course. I just got a couple of days off and called to see if there were any tournaments this week and was blown off like they don't want any more play. I just wanted to walk on as a single for Thursday and Friday.
Let's see, I play La Purisima about six or seven times a year. With motel and green fees and breakfast or lunch at the cafe, which is always great by the the way, its about $150.00+ per day. I've always wrote great things about this course here on greenskeeper but WOW I'm hurt. Nothing pleases me more then 36 holes at La Purisima but the staff better get it together.

Played sat/sun 4/14-15. i'm telling you, i love this place. anyways.. sat was not too windy. tee off at 9, calm until 11:30. then the wind picked up, but not too bad. it was off and on, and under 15 mph. really lucked out. Sunday... constant 25 mph winds from the get go. course is in excellent shape. Greens are fast and diabolical. fairways are in great shape. bunkers a bit soft. had buried lies quite a bit. it definitely helps to know the course when it comes to scoring. Definitely a must play, but tee off early, less chance of wind on the front nine. I love this course.

Played on Tuesday the 10th of April. Purisima has always been one of, if not my favorite, course in the U.S. As usual, the course was in very good condition. Two complaints: 1. the tee boxes are now becoming crowned due to the years of filling divots and reseeding. They need shaved. 2. The new management/personnel are unfriendly and generally ignorant to their own ignorance. Their new director of teaching, couldn't be a more unfriendly person to us. We complained about something in particular to him and he swiped aside our complaint like we weren't worth his time. He had the opportunity to make things better regarding our complaint, a simple solution it would have been, but it never even entered his mind. We were treated in a very unfriendly manner. This is not the La Purisima I have come to love.

The course is still in great shape and it is a fabulous track. I'll be back no doubt, but rest assured, I'll be spending more time and $$ up at Monarch Dunes.
