Played in the GK Outing on February 25, 2010. Great course conditions, immaculate greens and great fairways (except the unfilled divots- my ball found one- on the right side of #1 fairway). Weather was spectacular: no wind, about 70 degrees and sunny. I will need to get back here and try to exact some revenge. Maybe with a little more play, I will learn to score on this very challenging course.

Played on 2/25 with the GK outing. What a beautiful day for golf! This was my first time (at) this course and playing with the GK'rs. I enjoyed both. I was paired with a great a great group of guys.
The course is great. It is in excelent condition. The fairways look like slivers of grass from most of the tees. Once you get your ball out there, then you realize how big they are. Unfortunately it took me too many shots to realize it!!! The guys I played with were very helpful with the tips, but my driver must have had it's head cover on and did'nt hear them. I think the enviromental hazards are just there to preserve erant golf balls for resale. The greens are diabolical! But they are not unfair. You just need more local knowledge. I look forward to playing here again, many times.

Played the GK outing/tourney on 2/25. The golfing Gods hooked us up big time...no wind, 70 degrees and rain the night before giving the greens some softness. Still need to stay below the hole here and keep your drives out of the ESA areas.....rustic is becoming popular and I was suprised by the number of people for a Thursday as I usually play here earlier in the week. Had a fun group of guys. The course was beautiful, fairways were in good shape as were the greens. The greens were actually holding shots and were slower than they can be. The tees were in excellent shape. The bunkers were hard and firm and will always be true challenges on this track. Rustic is a must play at this time

Enjoyed playing this course for the 2nd time more than the 1st. Greens, tee boxes, and fairways all were in really good shape. Bunkers didn't have a ton of sand in them but I think that is the result of the type of course this is more than the condition. Only problem with the conditions was the rough, I don't mind thick rough but patchy rough gets me. I was in a patch filled with sand inches off of the collar on 10, and a bowl type patch just off of the fairway on 5. Pace of play was slow, round took around 5 1/2 hours, we had to wait on almost every shot. Since I was in the 1st group of our event it wasn't a result of our players slow play.

Right now is a great time to play this course. Course is in great condition currently from tee to green, just don't stray to the rough, as it can be very tough to hit from, some times it is very thick, sometimes it is patchy. Greens are lightning fast, so keep all approaches to the very front of the green if you aren't able to spin the ball like me. Bring a few extra balls or sleeves depending on your fades (slices) as there are many ESA's and OB areas where you will lose balls. A very fun and picturesque course that is in great condition currently.

Played here the first time, although I can completely see why people love this course I am not a huge fan. The front 9 ruined it for me, if it hadn't taken 3 + hours to get through, with at least 3 groups on each par 3 tee it might have been more enjoyable. It was just tough playing with any feel or touch (which is needed on this type of course) when you are waiting 20 minutes between shots. I enjoyed the back 9 much better, and the pace was a little quicker. The round took about 5 1/2 hours on a Thursday with a 10:50 tee time. Greens were in good shape but putting was frustrating. I think this is a course were the more you play the more you would enjoy it, and a course were sub 5 hour rounds are a MUST.

I had read all the glowing reports of this course on this site and had a few hours to kill in the valley yesterday. The course is great fun. The greens are lightning right now and the pin placements were very tough. This is a true links course and you cant just fly the ball to the green and have it stop on the right level, you have to think your way around. bunkers are a little thin, but still playable. Now I know why this is getting the reviews it does. Wish I could play it next week in the tourney, but work! that four letter word.

Out at Rustic this afternoon 2/16 for twilight...beautiful today to play golf...the course was firmer today than it was the last couple of weeks....its in beautiful shape...add 30-40 yds sometimes on your drives and land your irons in front of the greens depending on your ballflight....hole #15 green is downright cement and is so firm.....tees beautiful, fairways tight and good lies....waste bunkers must be avoided at all costs...they are true hazards.....weird thing happened today as staff were taking pins out at 5pm even though it gets dark here at 5:45ish....wonderful experience overall.... go play it.

Starter said greens were running at 11+, there were fast and true, 11+ I don't know about all that, but most of the greens were giving me fits, a 4 foot left to right brake is nothing out of the ordinary, I had puts with 2 or 3 times that much brake. I loved it, this is golf as it is supposed to be.
