Had a very enjoyable round this morning 12/29/2014 with my buddy Pedro7170, Toprank and Pedro's buddy Carlos. Really cool to play with my buddy Jeremy who I have not seen in a while. We had a 10:16am tee time but with a frost delay we teed off at 11am. Very nice staff here as always and they got us out when they could. I had a coupon from a special that the course e-mailed me so it was only $19.00 to walk. POP for our foursome was 4 hours 20 minutes. The greens were the best part of the course---they were medium speed and rolled very true. Looks like the course is really putting a lot of time and effort into the green complexes. Very little to no ballmarks and holding irons very nicely. The tees were mostly all level with some of them being crowned. They had ample coverage and were in above average shape. The fairways were a mixed bag. They had patches of green grass in certain sections while other areas were dry and patchy. Bunkers had nice sand that was raked and in good shape. Was lucky to only be in 2 bunkers all day. They are very penal here and can be on certain holes and adventure to navigate. We had excellent weather 65 degrees and no wind---which made scoring easier today. This is a fun scenic course that I would play more if I lived a little closer. They have some real good rates here to play.

Walked on to Soule Park early this morning, and had a very pleasant round. Was sent out with 3 others, and got around in about 4:15 walking behind a five some that we almost never waited on, no more than 2 or 3 times the whole round. The three behind us probably waited on us just about the same, certainly not too much, so the pace was pretty good.

The course is in pretty good shape, greens rolling pretty true, at a medium speed and holding shots nicely. The one green side bunker I found was very nice as well. The fairways didn't look very good, but they always gave me a decent lie, and there was a little bit of roll on drives even though it was a little bit damp early in the morning. Rough was pretty patchy, quite bare in many spots. Tee boxes weren't too bad, a few not quite level, but overall were ok. For the price on a weekend morning, Soule Park really can't be beat.

Played 9-22-14 early morning with GDR23, $28 to walk. Tee boxes are in good shape, had to search a little for a level spot on some, but not to bad. Fairways are in nice shape, recently punched on back side but healing nicely. They where punching 7,8,9 today. Rough was on the thin side with a few bare spots. Found one fairway bunker that had nice firm sand. Greens are in good shape , rolling smooth but a little slow. Overall course is in good shape and worth playing.

Second group out with RGM2525 this morning 9/22/2014 for the last of the bday rounds. We played the Orange tees and I paid $15.00 which is what they charge for the cart. POP was 2 hrs 45 minutes playing through the only group on the course in front of us. Staff super friendly. Greens very nice shape but putting semi-slow due to the morning dew that burned off by the back nine. No ballmark or divot damage. Greens looked to be in great shape. Maintenance alert states they will be punching mid October. Looks like we just beat the maintenance crew on the front nine as they were punching the fairways. We experienced nice lies with the fairways still being somewhat wet from the overnight dew. The two sand bunkers I were in greenside #18 and greenside #3 contained thick claylike brown sand that was beautifully raked and quite easy to hit out of. The teeing grounds were super lush, cut perfectly and some of them were a little sloped but not to bad. The rough was easy to hit out of and the fringes which are huge here were mowed down nicely and were in good shape. I really enjoy this course and wish it was not an hour drive.

Started my extended birthday weekend with a freebie round at Soule Park this morning. Actually $15 and they make you pay the cart fee now, whether you want to walk or ride, but still a heck of a deal. The local early birds let me go off first by myself right around 6:00. Had to weave my way around maintenance and they didn't have the flags up on the back nine yet. New holes were cut and the white/blue/red pattern stayed the same as the front, but they hadn't cut/dried the greens yet on the back and the flags were all laying down. Anyone who's played Soule Park knows the greens are tough enough even when you know where the hole is. Even when I knew it was back/middle/front, some of these greens are so massive, it only narrows things down so much. The course was in solid overall condition. Fairways and rough had their fair share of thin spots, with everything playing firm and fast as you'd expect here. Greens mostly good, but a few bad spots here and there that I noticed. Tee boxes good. I was in one bunker and the sand was plentiful, just super heavy and damp in the early morning. I do really like the course, but the layout messes with my mind. It's very deceptive, especially on approaches. Bunkers, mounds/undulation and the intermediate "tight" cuts between fairways and greens create some optical illusions. Really is a course you have to play several times to know the shapes of certain greens and how far the bunkers are actually in front of them. This was only my second time and I was still befuddled, of course the pins not being up on the back nine didn't help my cause. Still had a lot of fun with a quick and enjoyable early morning round on this course.

Played here with my friend on Fathers Day, (June 15th). Got out at like 4:10 and played it in about 3:45-3:50. We were behind a twosome for most of the front nine that was teeing off as we pulled up to the 1st hole, and once or twice it seemed like they were waiting on a group ahead of them. However, they went in at the turn and we had the back wide open and were able to finish 18.

This was my second time playing Soule, and both times have been a treat. This time, the greens seemed to be a lot firmer and tougher to play, but there also seemed to be less Rustic-esque apron in play/prominent. Regardless, everything about this course was excellent. The value, the service, the setting, pace of play, conditions of greens, bunkers, tees, fairways, and rough. It is super worth it to make the drive out here if you are up for it, even if you are coming from LA in my opinion. It's like 20 minutes further than River Ridge or Olivas, but the drive up the 33 is nice and the course is absolutely beautiful. All in all, I highly recommend this course to anybody at any time.

Played twilight for $19.00 bucks this afternoon 3/24/2014 with buddies. We walked the course in 4 hours. The last review is spot on. The course is in above average condition. Most greens were rolling around a 9 on the stimp today with some downhillers rolling closer to a 10.5. Greens were fairly true with little to no pitch mark damage and in good shape. They were holding iron shots nicely. The fairways have grown in some with some newer lush grass. They are still on the firmer side but much improved since my last round out here. The tees are lush and for the most part are level. Some of the fairway bunkers are firmer. Weather was very nice today with a little breeze. Very enjoyable round with buds. Would recommend this course especially for the price we paid today.

Played on Friday, 3/21, using a free birthday round ($15 for a cart). Sign up on their website to take advantage of that great deal. It was an hour and ten minutes in morning darkness and fog to get here from Santa Clarita for a 7:26 tee time. We were probably the fourth or fifth group out. They have newer carts (new to them), so no GPS at this time. The course is in fine shape. Good lies throughout the course. Tees were level, fairways ran great, lots of soft sand in the bunkers, and firm greens. The greens were wet with morning dew, so breaks were somewhat easier to read. I did notice some small ball marks or damage from ravens in spots on some greens, but it was not bad. Good times in the morning and we finished in about 3 1/2 hours.
