The greens were quick and soft. Fairways were decent but very soggy after the recent rains. Numerous tees were unlevel, but the turf on them was in decent shape. First time playing this course in several years, don't care for the layout, only one par 5 in the first 15 holes. However, the customer service this time was excellent, unlike previous trips to this track.

Played Sterling Hills this afternoon 12/23 with Nickesquire, Toprank and a buddy. Fairways were wet and soggy not a lot of roll but in pretty nice shape. The tee boxes were level on most holes and there were only a few par 3's that the tees were un-level. The rough was not to penalizing. The greens had some footprint marks due to the recent rain and groups ahead of us but still rolled quick and fairly true. Course knowledge is key here as a handful of greens here have undulation and breaks that can make 4-5 footers an adventure. I thought that the course played very good for winter conditions. I enjoy this course and the challenge that it offers. I wish there was 1 one more par 5 out there...that would be my only complaint. We were treated very nicely in the pro-shop this morning as there was a 45 minute frost delay that delayed our foursome. We were given complimentary range balls and were greeted with a smile by the starter on #1. Pace of play was decent for the amount of back-up we had on the course. No cart girl today. If you live in or around the area...Sterling might be the ticket for you.

Played on Saturday morning (11/29). The course is in good condition. The tee boxes are pretty level. The fairways are mostly lush, with some bare spots, but it was never an issue. The greens are smooth and medium speed. The ball rolled well on the greens. Overall, the course is good to play right now. I was surprised that it was not crowded at all on Saturday.

This golf course offers many challenges. The wind was up and on a lot of holes because of housing ajacent to the course you do noit feel it on the tees or the fairways but it effects shots to the greens. This course is not getting a lot of play and you can get deals 48 hours ahead of time to play for $40.00 including cart on weekdays. I suggest if you live close and have never played there to go and try the course.

All the tee-boxes (on the back 9) were overrun with crabgrass and finding a level place to take a stance was challenging - remember, you can go 2 club lengths back... that is a good thing to know here...

I doubt I'll try the front 9 or return to play the back again. Too bad, just not very well maintained.

Teed off first thing in the morning on 9/7, started on time and the pace of play was normal. The tee boxes were pretty beat up, uneven with some sort of weed growing all over them. The fairways were way past over watered, my ball was sitting in a puddle on the fairway of the first hole. With that being said, I still had a great a great time and it was worth the weekend rate. Its just kind of sad that it went from being such a well kept course to what it is now.

Have been playing here for the last several years and always enjoyed the lush fairways, rough and fast greens. Played Saturday 8/16. This course has been ruined completely! Fairways were thin everywhere, crunchy dry in many spots, even the rough had been cut as short as most fairways and was dried out and thin. Traps were worse than most munis, may with dirt not recognizable sand. Greens were well watered and SLOW. Never saw a marshal despite slow play everywhere, one bag attendant where there used to be many waiting to assist. if it's true that the camarillo spgs people bought this I am not surprised. Save your money and avoid this disaster!

Played morning of 8/7/2008. Our 4some finished in just under 4.5 hours. Course was in very good condition. Only complaint is that tee boxes could be better maintained: many not level, and many divot marks.

I really like this course: staff is great; course well maintained and presents a challenging round.
