We played the Arroyo as day 2 of our tournament. On another beautiful day, we had a shotgun start and got off right on time at 8:00 am. Much like Siena, this is a very pretty golf course. Many of the holes meander through the neighborhood of some very nice homes. The driving range is hassle to get to. We had to be driven to the range by the marshals if we wanted to warm up. Took about 2-3 minutes to drive there. Fairways were excellent. Great lies in the fairways which were cut down. The rough was thick and penal. A ball landing in the rough was hard to find so that’s how thick it was. I usually do not have any problems hitting out of the rough but my playing partner did. He hated it as did many others. Slowed down play a bit and many spent time looking for balls just off of the fairway. Bunkers were fine and were filled with good, firm sand. The greens were fast. Starter told us they would run about 10.5. They were pretty hard and did not hold good shots very well and definitely not holding shots hit out of the rough. They seemed faster actually but you could see some small weeds starting to grow in them. Was told they were going to aerate the green the following day and it looked like they were ready. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. A good mixture of long and short holes and very fair with generous landing areas. Not sure what they charge here as we played as part of a tournament. Heard some folks pay up $100 on the weekend. That’s a bit steep for this course. Regardless, if you can get a good rate, I would highly recommend.

(01/26/19) Weather here today was great! A little cool in the morning and warmed up to low 60s with sunny skies and winds no more than 10 mph. Needless to say we caught a gorgeous day in midwinter. Shout out to the staff who were great to begin with. I booked a time from GolfNow for 11:30 for Saturday, not realizing the date I paid for was “Friday!” Yikes! We paid $226.47 for three players (75.49 a player) The concierge was nice enough to help us squeeze in for the 10:00 tee time. Which was nice- I slipped him a $20 and got things done without any other issues. Just glad we got on. The course was not at par level as I remembered it to be. The bunkers looks like it has sand only to hit a hard barren lie under- I was in two of them. The white bottom lining material were exposed on more bunkers as we went through the rest of the course- very exposed and very visible. #17th and another greenside bunker were completely GUR- also the bunkers had plenty of dollar sized stones and rocks enough to damage your equipment (I know about the new rule). All of that was very disappointing! The fairways were a little less than okay- lots of recent repair that hasn’t quite grown to fair playing conditions as the ball can sit on spots in sunken lies- another disappointing factor… ugh! Teeing grounds were not chewed up, but the grass were mixed in quality and it’s easy to tell they’re not growing evenly although this did not bother any tee shots at all- just not something I was expecting. The greens were fast and bumpy from many unrepaired pitch marks. I suspect it’s from not being able to repair it when there’s frost under. It was receptive in many high soft shots. Greens are very important to me, but I’m not bashing this course for it- I just say what I find in my experience. Even though all these imperfections, blemish, whatever it may be called were present, a great time was had all day. Bev cart girl came around often- and we bought drinks often.

Played on Friday, 9/14, around noon or so, as part of a 3 group Bachelor Party. I really do have a crush on this course. I will always play it when offered (extra: a few years ago, Siena/Arroyo held a contest during UNLV basketball games and I would only enter when Arroyo was the prize). It has never disappointed me. Fun layout with a mix of risk/reward holes. I think it's fair enough for a high handicap (me) and can still challenge better golfers. Again, staff was great. Carts were ready and set with the rentals some of the guys used. Inside grill had us all fed and ready to go before our tee time. Only exception, the STARTER. Is this job only reserved for grumpy guys? We were all set in our carts when he started with the let's go, let's go, then was visibly angry when we asked for a group pic.

Conditions are incredible. Tee boxes level, but some damage on the par 3s and shorter par 4s. Fairways were really good, lush, plenty of coverage with a few brown/thin areas. Rough was minimum, about a ball or so high, just enough to cause some issues. Greens were good, very smooth, but a little on the slow side of medium speed. Can't say anything about the bunkers, we played a scramble and didn't need to hit out of one (unlike some other groups).

I was able to speak with the GM before we teed. They are delaying their reseeding until October (Phoenix/Palm Springs style) and may come out without Cart Path Only. Seemed like a good guy and I wished I could speak to him more and without the Bachelor Party affects.

I always recommend this course when asked for ideas. I love the variety and it's absolutely a blast to play. The par 3s are all different length, with some elevation changes or guarded greens. Short and long par 4s, wide and tight fairways. The par 5s offer at least 2 chances for medium hitters to go for it. Always a good time.

Not gonna lie - was a little disappointed not to be playing the private Red Rock CC today in a customer-sponsored tournament, but the Arroyo course adjacent was plenty of fun and in great condition itself. The tournament was quite large, taking spots on both the private RRCC and its public sister course The Arroyo Club, so it really did just boil down to luck of the draw and I missed out on RRCC. But how can anyone complain when still getting to play a great course on a Monday afternoon for work? Really fun little layout at Arroyo with most of the things you'd expect from a high-end public course that runs throughout a very exclusive Las Vegas gated community. In a bizarre twist, all men in the tournament had to play the black tees, so that was quite an eye-opener being able to see the entire depth of the course as it was designed. We were also lucky to start on the first hole, so we played it in the proper sequence that designer Arnold Palmer desired. There were no shortages of over-water and/or desert carries, but the bunkering is actually fairly sedate. They line the fairways for the most part, but rarely impinge on them. Grass is in fine condition overall with only the fewest hints of some dried out areas, mostly on the fringes. The rough is in great shape - thick and lush but not too penal. Greens are fantastic right now. Just the right speed and not too tricked out to make it preposterous. They are certainly challenging, often times confounding, but more than fair and a real pleasure to challenge. And despite their firmness, they did a very good job of holding shots as well, so that's always a dream scenario. Tee boxes were in great shape, I presume mostly because the black tees are played less frequently? But I saw no issues with any of the other tee boxes either. Flat and lush - maybe, if any knock, a but too lush for a tee box. Sand in the bunkers was more than acceptable. As it was a big company tournament, we had watering holes at every tee box, mostly of the tequila and Monster variety, but I'm not much of a drinker when I'm playing golf, even when it's just a fun scramble like today. Oh yes, one other point about the layout - this is definitely a community course that winds its way through lots of housing, but don't be fooled as there is still some great desert and mountain scenery to be had. There are some long cart rides that can sometimes be a little bit too casually defined, as evidenced by me parking at the 'next' tee box only to find out I'd played it two holes before. Genius. Anyway, fun day, fun course and very good conditions. I would like to play it again with my own scorecard though, even though I know it won't look as good as -1 at the end of the day again. Fool's gold. Fools golf.

I played Red Rock Arroyo Friday morning April 13th. It was a cooler morning with forecast winds nearing 20 MPH. The staff meet us in the parking lot to gather our clubs with a smiling face and a warm greeting. The Pro shop staff was as equally pleasant. The driving range was closed for maintenance.

We made our way to the first tee and selected the Blue tees with a yardage of 5904 and a rating/slope of 67.9/126. The next tees back are close to 6500 yards and a little long for our group.

The tee boxes were well maintained and level with a little divot damage but nothing more then would be expected. The fairways were lush and full and well manicured. Nowhere on the course did I find even one bare spot. It was in typical spring (High season) condition.

The greens where just as well maintained. They were rolling true and the speed was consistent. I would not say they were slow, but for sure were not fast. Divot damage was very minimal. Great shape all around.

The bunkers were firm, like many bunkers in the Las Vegas area. There was enough sand in them to get under the ball, which is not always the case in Vegas. The sand is more of a course sand with a firm base.

I had a great day at this course, it is one of my go to places as a local and I really enjoy the member type feel of facilities. We finished in just over 4 hours, but the pace was enjoyable with very little wait on shots. One of the great things about this course is that I can buy a players pass annually and get preferred rates for myself and my guest, even if they are out of state. A real perk as most places charge out of state guests a steep fee. The free rounds that come with the pass make it a no brainer.

I highly recommend Red Rock Arroyo golf course.

Played 2/7/18 9am shot gun $100 4.5 hrs Fairway's were a mixture of perfect lush grass, very thin grass or a criss cross mixture of both. If you found the good grass it was great. When you found the other... sucky. Greens were VERY firm. Almost impossible to stop the ball without 'tour type' spin. You had to play way short of the pin or green if pin was up front. Rolled about a notch or two above medium. Mostly good rolls except when your ball hit a rock from the traps which were a mixture of small rock & firm sand. Every green had a sprinkling of tiny to large rocks on them from the traps. Some greens were very dried out in appearance and a couple of par 3 greens were pretty chewed up from old ball marks. Oddly, I hit some quality high soft shots into them and they didn't leave a mark at all?? Decent layout with a mixture of hole designs mostly on the shorter side even from the blues. Course runs though a housing track and around the private course with some very long travels from one hole to the next. Some very nice views of the Red Rock mountains nearby. If you can find a great deal there is fun to be had ?

I’ve come to the conclusion that Sin City has the best reasonable golf in the country and this club is a great example. Paid $60 on Golfnow and this track’s layout, conditioning and shot values are the equal of courses in Palm Springs and Arizona costing 2x as much.

Spectacular views are to be had as this winds around the red rock area just outside Las Vegas. While intimidating, tee shots are fair especially if you play the right tees. Fairways are in great shape and bunkers are filled with nice soft sand. Greens are fast and difficult to read but somewhat marred by numerous pitch marks. Still they roll smooth.

I did not have the time to eat at the grill as we were rushing to watch the Super Bowl or encounter much of the staff, but the friendly cart girl had a good selection of snacks and drinks. There will be a return visit.

Played Friday, 6/2, with a 12:05 tee time. I was invited to join a regular 4some after one of the guys couldn't make. Happy I did. Paid $31 on probably the last warm day before the triple digits hit. Hit a wall of carts at the 6th, and finished in about 4:40.

Weird, the conditions were better than when I played in mid-March. Tee boxes are still a bit chewed up and some need to be leveled (especially the Par 3s). Fairways were in great shape. Lush, not really firm, a bit wet, but no brown/thin areas. Rough was thick and brutal, definitely paid the price to hit into it. Green side bunkers had about 2 inches of nice sand, than hard packed. I was in a small fairway pot bunker (about 6 feet across) that was just filled with rocks. Greens were in fantastic shape. Relatively smooth, medium fast, and held shots. There was quite a few unfixed ball marks left from earlier rounds.

Nice customer service. Friendly bag drop guy. Starter let us out early since the group ahead of us wasn't ready to go. Drink cart was around quite a few times and there's water coolers every 3 holes (just bring your own cup).

It was a steal at $31, but that was with great weather, I don't know if I could play when it's 10-15* hotter starting next week. They have a 2 sided practice range that is shared with the private club next door. Be careful if you use it. The public side is on the far side from the clubhouse and you have to go down a path to between the private club's #1 and the range. I ducked down and put the shield up since the path is littered with errand balls.

Played Thursday, 3/23, with a 9:25a tee time. I won a free 2some in twitter contest Arroyo/Siena sponsored with UNLV Basketball which was good Monday-Thursday. Arroyo is the public side of the Red Rock Country Club, with it's private Mountain course in the same area. Each course has it's own clubhouse and practice area. When you pull into the parking lot, carts are set up at the bag drop and it's a very short walk to the pro shop to check in and a pretty large restaurant attached. There's a very small putting green outside of the pro shop which was the same speed as the course. If you want to hit the driving range, the Arroyo range is on the far side of the private range and you need to drive up the side of it to get there. When you do, you find 6-8 stations in a worn out area next to another private area. Yes, you can tell the difference but it's fine for warming up. We were paired up with a local couple and we finished in about 3:45, excellent pace.

I last played here almost 3 years ago and I remembered I really enjoyed the course. Shocker. Enjoyed it today. While it does route through housing, they are "mostly" out of play. Outside of 8/9, no 2 holes repeat, nice variety of par 3s (including a 200+ yard into the wind).

Conditions were Ok, not bad, not great. Most tee boxes were good, but #7 (the signature par 3) was completely dirt at the blue tees. Fairways were firm with little amount of thin areas. Rough was about 2-3 inches. Greens were weird. Ran at a medium speed, they appeared to have a few different grasses in them. There was a few bumpy putts today. My only complaint are the bunkers. Just like 3 years ago, the liners are exposed in the bunkers, all on the front 9. The sand was ok, but had little pebbles. If you had a putt anywhere near a green side bunker, you had lots of pebbles around you.

Overall, I really really want to like this course. Customer service is great. Drink cart was around 4-5 times. It's just the little things like some of the tee boxes and those bunker liners that bother me. Would I play here again? Yes, if I was paying about $40.
