Played Eldorado twice today. There was tourney on other 2 nines. Fairways were the best Ive seen in Vegas so far this summer. Bunkers were also in excellent shape. I am sorry I found enough of them today to review.lol Course in really good shape other than the un-repaired ball marks on the greens. Kudos to the maintainance staff here!! Well done. It shows.

Played on Saturday 4/18. The weather was perfect, little if any wind. Played the Eldorado/Coyote layout. The course was surprisingly dry and browner than one would expect this time of year. Almost looked like they were setting it up as a links style course. The green speeds were very inconsistent from hole to hole and you could never could really get a feel for how fast or slow they were rolling from hole to hole. The fairways were tight and decent but the rough was really non-existent. The sand was decent in depth with sand in all of them that I was in but they were fairly rocky.
The range was grass which is a great way to warm up but boy could they use some new range balls. A lot of them had been around a while and several of them had cuts in them but then again it's only the range. Overall the pace of play was very good and the customer service was outstanding. However I thought even at the resident rate of $48 the price may have been a few dollars too high for the current conditions.

After Cascata in the morning yesterday, I played my second round here as it's just down the road a couple miles and they had a great GN hot deal for $30 at 12:40. Of course, after an amazing luxury experience at Cascata, pretty much any course will pale in comparison. However, the experience at Boulder Creek was a positive one. Not too busy on a Sunday afternoon, so I ended up playing all three nines. Played Desert Hawk first. There was a fivesome gumming up the works, so I joined with a threesome behind them about halfway through. Coyote Run was second and I played behind a twosome. However, they were moving very quickly and I never had to wait super long. Then, they let me go ahead and play Eldorado and I had it all to myself. In total, all 27 holes only took 3:40, so it worked out great and I was on the road back home at a reasonable hour. The three nines are in varying stages of maintenance right now and will be for the next month or so. Desert Hawk will be the last to close, so it is still in solid shape. Tees, fairways, rough and greens mostly decent with some weak spots here and there. Coyote Run is closing this week for overseeding, so the fairways and tee boxes are completely brown and dormant. Lots of roll-out and tight lies to hit from, but playable enough. Everything on and around the greens was in good shape, so that helped with playability. Eldorado hadn't officially reopened yet from its overseed, but they graciously let me play it. From tee to green, it's in the best shape right now with the fresh layer of excellent lush grass. The greens had been aerated, though, but weren't too bad. Not too bumpy and rolling at about the same speeds as the other nines, so barely a nuisance. I was in a few bunkers on the day and the ones I found had pretty good sand, consistent between all the courses. Boulder Creek is an enjoyable course with three nines that are all pretty similar and nice designs. No elevation changes as it sits down in a flat part of the valley, but unobscured 360-degree views on many holes were nice. There are some little wash/sand ravines that cut across many fairways, so be sure to check the GPS to avoid those as you can't always see everything with the naked eye. Otherwise, the course is pretty easy to figure out what to do on each hole outside of a couple tricky holes. The 9th hole on Desert Hawk is considered one of the toughest in the Vegas area and I can understand why. That's a beast of a par-4, especially when the wind is blowing. For the price I paid and getting to play all 27, it was a heck of a deal. Right next to a little airport, so it's kind of cool watching small planes, helicopters and, yes, a lot of skydivers landing right there.

I played Boulder Creek on Tuesday 1/28/14, after the four hour drive from Lakewood. They have three nines and I played Coyote Run/Eldorado, teeing off at around 1pm. The rate goes down at 1pm, and they let me go out a little early. The layout of the course is pretty nice as it winds through the desert. No surrounding homes, so its a peaceful golf atmosphere. Course conditions are good, overall. Nice tee boxes, very good sand and smooth, medium-fast greens. The overseeding in the fairways is thin in some spots, but I never had a bad lie. The staff was excellent and very friendly ... even to stickboy. It's a bit of a drive from civilization, but the green fees are lower than many area courses. I would play it, again, without a doubt.

I played here on 2/22/13. We had tee time at 11:45AM but with our delay in flight and extra 20 minutes spent at the car rental, we were late. I called in and staff was very accommodating by reassuring that they will work us as soon as we got there. We each gobbled down a delicious hot dog and after 10 minutes of range session we were escorted to Coyote instead of Eldorado since starter though that we would enjoy that layout better. Driving range has ample space for 30+ people and just next to it is short game area. Very nice practice facility.

The layout has desert arroyo but not so severe that you would lose your golf ball. It was great for our 2 high handicappers since they only lost couple balls. Course wasn't easy due to pin placements but it was very playable if you didn't go pin hunting like I did. Tee boxes were little shaggy but it was to protect the tee boxes getting damaged during the colder days so it was just fine. Fairways are medium firm and good shape with few minor bare spots here and there. It did not effect our game any so it was just fine. Sand in the bunker looks crusty and heavy looking but to my surprise, it was fluffy. I had to use higher bounce wedges after my first shot using low bounce wedge did not get the ball out. Greens were mostly soft except for few areas where wind had dried out. Greens rolled medium fast and most putts did not break much at all even though my reads were that it would break more. Only downside about the green is that there were so many unrepaired marks. I fixed 5 to 10 marks on each green but still could not get to half of them. I throughly enjoyed the layout and it was very fun course that gave you opportunity to recover. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and golf here again especially since cost of the green fees here is about half what they charge near the strip.

Played Boulder Creek for the first time. It's about half an hour outside Vegas. There's an airfield nearby where people jump out of planes from, but other than that, it's pretty remote. The course was in great shape, and no one was on. We played Coyote Run/Desert Hawk, and no one was in front of us the whole way. 3 hours and change later, we'd finished the best round of my life. Fairways were in great shape. Greens had a few spots where ball marks hadn't been fixed. Only downside was the bunkers weren't raked, and I landed in a couple footprints. It's honestly not that hard, guys. But it was a minor annoyance. My dad and I got rates of $36 off of golfnow, with an 11am tee time. Great experience overall.

provided compared to Primm (which we played the day after). Crappy basic
info on Primm's gps!! For a city owned facility, they do a very good job.
I have read about golfers not liking the pebbles inside bunkers. This just happens
to be the natural lay of the land when in the DESERT!!

Played there Friday. Compared to other courses in the area, it's a fairly good deal. Course didn't have too much traffic. Great warmup areas. Greens and fairways were good. The fringe around some of the greens though were bare and in need of some maintenance. The bunkers are tough to rate. There were rocks in all of them (I was in 6 that day) but they were consistent and all played very fair. Easy to score well here if you can keep in from OB. I wouldn't say the course was very memorable, but it was decent enough and fits the bill if you want to play somewhere above a muni, but not pay too much near Vegas.
