This continues to be my favorite course in the Las Vegas area! Played it again the weekend of 12/5/2009 and it continues to impress me. There are so many ways that this course can be played! You can try to overpower it . . you can finesse it . . you can try a combination of the two and it's all good! As always, the service was first class, and the conditions were exceptional. One of the things that makes this course so special is that it's playable for everyone. From the 7600 yards from the tips, to the 5100 yards from the forward tees, this course is laid out to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The greens are among the best I've ever putted on. They are quick . . but roll very true. There are some "sneaky" breaks and double breaks depending on where you leave your approach shot, but that just adds to the enjoyment. The bunkers (and they are numerous) are in great condition with nice fluffy sand. This course is the only one on my "play EVERY time I'm in Vegas list" . . and my most recent outing there only confirms and reaffirms that feeling. Play this course! You'll love it!

Let me open this review by saying that the greens on this course this week is the best I have ever played greens on a public facility. It is and has got to be the finest I have ever seen. FAST, true, and on the firm side. Truely a golfers dream and it is such a pleasure to play a well maintained course over all.

I've had a few chances to play this course before but were detered by it's high slope and ratings for it's difficulty. Yes, it is difficult but fair.

Wide fairways, strategic bunkerings and some rolling fairways. Each hole has its own distinct characteristics and there isn't a hole that didn't excite our group.

There were some elevation changes and most of the greens are built on a mound where there are better places to miss it if you could imagine.

Play this course... I never thought I would say it about this course. The other two courses which I though were excellent courses, but compared to this course... this is the premium of the three.

We played it Monday and Tuesday, Nov30th and Dec1st. I'm only sorry for one thing and that is for why I did not get on it any sooner.

Played the Wolf Course on July 31st at 7:00 am. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too windy. The course was in amazing shape. Lush green fairways. Greens were perfect -- rolled great and held shots. Each hole was unique and the island green was the great. The driving range was as nicer than most golf courses. Customer service was exceptional as well. This is a must play and I will look forward to playing again.

That was one HOT day… Golfing in Vegas during the summer is probably not the best thing for most people to do - especially when the only shade you'll get is in the golf cart

Regardless – it was a nice course. Customer service was definitely a plus – everybody worked with a smile! Tee boxes were nice, and was not too punishing in placement. Fairways were nice as well.

Most of the bunkers were ok, but some were hardpan (i.e. Hole 12 if short of green)

As with most of the desertscape courses I’ve played, the greens were cut very short and was VERY firm – and I had difficulty stopping that ball once it hit the green. The difference here, in a bad way, was that I felt like the greens had inconsistent speeds throughout the day.

Would I play it again? Probably – but maybe on a cooler day next time.

Played the Wolf on 5/15 with a 7:45 tee time. To begin with the customer service was great! Everyone was friendly and willing to do whatever was needed to make you comfortable and make sure you had a great time.
The morning started out windy so our group expected a rough day, but it actually got more still as the day wore on. As a result we were able to play the course and enjoy the many wonderful views and the fantastic grooming over the entire course.
The tees and fairways were in great shape, with no bare spots and wonderfully lush lies in the fairways. The greens were somewhat fast, but rolled true and were a challenge from far away, and fair.
We played from the Yellow tees, which are comparable to most whites, with a 71.9/129 rating (I think) and shot my best round of the year, an 83! Tried not to let that influence my review too much, but, well......????? I will definitely be going back and hope to play the other 2 courses there before years end.

Played the wolf course in February. This was one of the finest golf experiences I have had. The course is immaculate and the views are spectacular. Everyone who worked there was helpful and friendly and the day was a huge success. I would recommend Paiute to everyone.

Finally got to play Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, with LVBIGBLUE – and the signature Wolf Course at that. Despite a windy morning and cold temps, it was a pleasure. Course conditions were excellent and the layout is as intriguing as it is difficult. Greens rolled very true and fast. They were extremely firm although but that’s to be expected this time of year. In fact the whole course played firm/lush with exception to the bunkers which contained white, very well maintained, sand. I’ve played Pete Dye designs before and like them but this one is the best I've experienced. Also, check out the 50+ photos we have published for this course.

Regarding the clubhouse, practice facilities and service. Absolutely top notch. As good as I’ve seen anywhere in Vegas. Having had lunch and breakfast a number of times here, I will not hesitate to say the food is exceptional. Make sure to have a meal when you visit.

Overall, I highly recommend Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.

Great conditioning, greens were a 8/10 - they looked deceptively shaggy, and have some sort of invading grass that makes them blotchy, but rolled true, very firm (not very receptive to approach shots) and were fast. The land doesn't offer much to work with (basically just off the highway in a valley, very flat) but the topography of the course is challenging, not many flat lies. greens complexes were interesting without being overly penal. would definitely recommend, it's a solid upscale daily fee.

I played on Wed 12/24 in 35*F w/ gusty 30mph winds. Not too many people on the course so I was able to finish in under 3 hrs. Despite 2 hand-warmers in each pocket, I had difficulty keeping the feeling in my fingers throughout the round. Regarding the course, the conditions were immaculate, the practice area was spacious, the staff was gracious. Because of the weather, I played from the yellow tees (6400yds) and hit 2 extra clubs to nearly every green. To be candid, the layout was not very memorable. The architect merely draped the golf holes over a tilted terrain and added a few bumps here and there to frame the fairways. After reading all the rave reviews, I was excited to come out to test my game, but I left there doubting I would ever come back.

At least the conditions were great...
