Played yesterday in a GK outing with rgm2525. Teed off a little before 9:20 and got done around 12:30. There was only a two some ahead of us and a single behind us and the rest of the course was wide open. We could have been done earlier had it not been for me spraying nearly every drive into the native areas surrounding each hole. Ridge Creek can be a difficult golf course, but it is ten times more difficult when you're searching for a ball in thick grass and bushes. Fairways were hard, leaving you with tight lies on nearly ever hole. Greens were soft with plenty of hold to them, even spun a few shots off the green. Sand was in good shape as well. The course was a great time, and I had a great time getting to know Ron as well. Definitely will have to get back out to Ridge Creek to see if I can get back some of the lunch money it took from me yesterday.

Th course is in great shape, and this is one of my favorite courses to play. I seem to really only play out here on Mondays because they have a great deal, where if you wear pink on Monday, you play for 39/29 ride/walk. So I have a tendency to play here on Monday. But this course was i. Great shape for our event, I noticed the fairways weren't rolling out as much as I'm accustomed to, and there wer some dry cuttings off the fairway, but nothing that made for any less of a great fun round. The greens were in great shape like usual, wasn't in too many bunkers, but the couple I was in, the sand seemed to be consistent from th couple shots I had to get out of.

My favorite part of this course has got to be the driving range and the short game area. They have multiple driving ranges, they have the main range which is right by the parking lot, and it is huge, with four different quadrants so they have the luxury to move them around. But then there are two others range areas that surround the best short game area in the valley. They have to undulating greens thst you can hit hundreds of different shots into either green. I tend to go to the back range hit a large bucket and take an hour or two on their short game area working on all sorts of shots and distances.

I have played Ridge Creek Dinuba Golf Club three times now and loved it all three times. This time by far the most. Thank you to all the GK Review Gurus both local to area and that made the drive from SoCal to play. Have to say, the drive was not that bad from the San Fernando Valley. Just under 3 hours. A little closer actually than San Diego or La Quinta from there. Was totally worth it. Although I would not drive there and back in the same day. The facilities are excellent with an incredibly large practice area that includes a 100 yard plus wedge area I have rarely seen anywhere. You could spend a couple hours easy, never bored, practicing. The clubhouse has a delicious restaurant, a big tented banquet area, well stocked proshop and very clean. The layout is fantastic with no homes surrounding the course for a peaceful experience…unless you find some of their treacherous deep faced bunkers – lol. It’s pretty wide open but make a big mistake and pay for it big time with a ball lost in the natural surrounding or in a deep bunker. Green complexes are challenging, huge, yet fair with some very undulating greens. Not too many risk reward holes out there if you play the Black or Silver Tees. We played the black…thinking to myself, at almost 7,000 yards, what was I thinking! Golf course was in fantastic shape. Some of the best Bermuda fairways I have played in long time. Completely lush. Rough was lush as well but visually not as appealing as it could have been because of old grass clippings. Tee boxes very lush but for my tastes would have preferred them mowed down a notch or two. Greens healthy, lush, holding shots and moderately fast. Bunkers…good sand quality, well raked and debris free. Before the round we had breakfast on the patio overlooking the 9th green. Tasty and great service. Was a perfect way to kick-off the round. I suggest you get there early to enjoy a meal and some of the practice facilities. Highly recommend this course.

Played out in the GK guru event on 8-4-16. First time playing in the area and didn't know what to expect. Based on course conditions down in the OC and IE wasn't expecting much, what a pleasant surprise. Course was not only in great shape but a fantastic layout as well. I would agree with all the other reviewers statements. I did find the bunkers to be quite enjoyable to play from, and I played almost t from the sand. I enjoy deep bunkers and most here are pretty deep with some high faces. Had a view it took a couple of shots to recover from.
Practice facilities here are A PLUS, Huge practice range, short game area, and ample practice green all in great shape. Staff here was again APLUS, great restaurant at the course.

I played with the GK Guru group on 8-4-16. We started on time and played at our own pace. The course is in great conditions if you are able to stay out of the bunkers and the native areas beyond the rough. The greens were a little slower than I have usually seen them, probably due to the past 2 weeks of 100 plus temperatures. The tee boxes and fairways were as good as I would expect to see on a far more expensive private course. I did not have to play from a divot or bare spot during the entire round. The course is fair if you pick the correct tee box to play from. There is a sign at the starter's shack the gives you recommendations for which tee to to play depending on your driving distance. The sand in the bunkers was okay but the bunkers are deep and many of the faces have thick bermuda growing down several feet into the bunker. Playing out sideways is frequently the best choice from some of the bunkers. The practice area and driving range is large and well designed. This is a course I would recommend to any one that is in the area and looking for an inexpensive round of golf on a quality golf course.

Played 8-4-16 with a group of GKers teeing off at 11am with Sixpez and Jerry64, playing in about 3 1/2 hours after going through a slow foursome of guys playing from the blacks( don't know what they were doing there). Tee boxes were in good shape mostly level and very lush. Fairways were very nice with minimal rollout and very nice lies. First cut of rough was in great shape, mostly uniform at about 2 inches but get outside of that and you are lucky to find your golf ball. Was in one greenside bunker that was a little thin but not to bad. Greens were rolling very nice, medium speed and very soft to approach shots. Had to switch to an x over the 1 to keep it from spinning back to far. This course has a great layout and really nice staff. This would be one of my go to courses if it wasn't 3 hours away.

Enjoyed a fun round with some GKers, both local and some SoCal guys who came up for the day. Our group may have been a tad slower than I prefer but as we had the course to ourselves I just let myself enjoy the day and after we let a pesky threesome :) play past we cruised around in 4hr-ish.

Overall great design with a lot of undulations and movement created out of flat farmland.
Conditions are very good even during the hot hot hot summer.

Tees - were lush with a few being so lush (not uncut) it was hard to stand the tee upright
Fairways - were actually cut a bit longer than the normal tight firm conditions and were all in good shape
Greens - were all smooth with few to no ball marks depending on hole locations, they are running quite a bit slower than normal due to summer which on these very large greens is a welcomed relief
Bunkers - are DEEP even in the fairways and are plentiful in numbers. On this course they are the one area where conditioning can lack, they can range from firm to soft sometimes within the same bunker and numerous of the nearly 200 bunkers have critter damage -nothing terrible but it does stand out when the rest of the course is top notch.

Being in the center of the Valley farmland, burrowing critters can be a nuisance. You can see their presence in areas. The maintenance crew has done an excellent job keeping them relegated to the edges of the course and kept the playing areas clear so they are more of a visual problem and rarely in play.

Had a great time yesterday up in the Central Valley with a GK Guru group. It was a nice mix of local players and some of us who came up from SoCal. They treated us well with a box lunch, Titleist hats and a commemorative box of 3 logo Pro-V1s. Ron, Johnny and I enjoyed a great breakfast before the round, sitting out on the patio next to the 9th green. I was in a threesome group with rgm2525 and Jerry64. We had a lot of fun despite being stuck behind a pretty slow foursome : ) They ultimately made us play through. Otherwise, there were only a handful of players out on the course and we basically had the place to ourselves. Ron and I even went back around and replayed a number of holes on the back nine (from the deadly tips) while we were waiting for the other guys to finish.

The course was in excellent condition. It really is amazing considering how hot it gets out here and what a value this course is. The tee boxes were nice. The fairways were fantastic. The primary cut of rough was lush and green, even though it was kind of obscured visually by a lot of dead grass clippings. Otherwise, the actual grass was very nicely kept and easy to hit from. Then, there are the deep native areas on the outer edges that you want to avoid at all costs. That stuff is brutal to play from, if you even find your ball at all. The greens were great, rolling at medium speeds. The bunkers were well-kept overall, though I think the greenside ones could use a little more/softer sand. They are deep and demanding!

This was my second time here, but I was eager to come back because last time we only had time to finish 14 holes before dark. Some of the holes we had to skip last time (14 - 16 in particular) ended up being my favorites. Pleasant linksy/heathland layout. Big fairways and greens make it somewhat forgiving, but if you find the bunkers or deep rough you will quick feel the wrath of this course. Definitely one of the Central Valley's best public golf offerings.

Played the Blacks (72.0/123/6995) with RGM2525 in 3H, 20M riding for $30. Teeing off around 1:20, the weather was fairly calm, sunny, low 90's, excellent golf weather. What wind present was in the opposite direction than in the morning. Completely different course with almost no wind. Holes that were Driver 5W into the wind in the morning were Driver 7I with comparable drives w/o it in the afternoon. A par 3 I hit 6 iron into the wind in the middle of the green in the morning, I went over with an 8 iron in the afternoon. Another par 3 I hit 6 iron downwind in the morning I was short with a well struck 4 iron in the afternoon. The fairways, it's tough to call them lush because they are mowed so close, but they play well. Firm with lots of roll. The rough close to the fairway is mowed down close, almost as low as fairways on some courses. Tough to chip off tight lies around the greens and anything missing the green will run down hills into the deep stuff. The rough slightly outside the very short, firm "rough" that is not fairway is the native rough. Very thick AND deep in many areas. Assuming you even find your ball, it is probably an unplayable lie. The sand traps were nicely maintained with good quality fluffy sand. Only complaint would be the inconsistency of the depth of the sand in some green side bunkers. The large & undulating greens putted nice, firm and medium fast. Better as the day went on. I like the layout, it would definitely be in my rotation if not 200 miles from home. With the firmness, even well struck, well placed balls rolling into bunkers or even the deep rough has to be factored in on club selection. Throw in the wind, and this course is deceptively tough in my mind. The USGA's ratings of 72.0/123 is way too low. Recommended = definitely.
