2nd Round of the day with JohnnyGK & Alex326. Unfortunately, BGarcelon had to bow out. Started off by getting lunch at the restaurant. The food was excellent , it had a great atmosphere with ample seating, a huge bar (lots of quality craft beers on tap!) & lots of TVs - Great spot to reminisce about a round or watch a game. The staff are very friendly & attentive. A+ I agree with the previous posts that the course is not quite as spectacular as Rancho Solano, however it provides juxtaposition to the layout & the greens of its sister course. Variety is the spice of life! It definitely seems to get more play & it showed in the tee boxes, fairway divots (no sand provided on carts!) & unrepaired ball marks on the green, but to be fair, we did play it in the afternoon. Overall, a solid choice with some great risk/reward holes & seeing Johnny hit a bomb on 13, then proceed drive the green on 14 was a sight to behold. A great way to end a wonderful day!

Round two of the day with JohnnyGk and BSF was at Paradise Valley. Overall it was a decent and fun course. Not quite as well kept as it's sister course (Ranch Solano) but overall it was in decent shape. Course layout is fairly flat but has a number of water features throughout the track to make it fun and challanging.


Greens where in good shape sans a few unrepaired divots here and there. There's no sand in the carts to repair fairway divots and we were told that they have course marshals repair divots as most players put too much sand in the divots causing premature wear on the mower blades.

Fairways offered good lies throughout. At least that's what I was told. I used up all my good drives in the morning!

Whereas Rancho Solano had more of a "resort" style course feel to it, Paradise Valley had more of a "muni course" feel. If traveling into the area I would recommend Rancho Solano first but Parasise Valley offers a solid second option. I also know one of the "Pro Euro" guys plays there on occasion so it must be a good course! But I think that's just because he likes showing off and driving the par 4 13th hole!

Next up on my 36 hole day yesterday in Fairfield was Paradise Valley Golf Course. The golf course also provides very great conditions and contrasts Rancho Solano Golf Club excellently for a second 18.

Teed it up again with Alex326 and BSF at 1:30pm. Brandon unfortunately could not join for the next 18 so we went out as a 3-some. Great time.

Before our round although we grabbed a bite to in grill/sports bar. I had a delicious Clubhouse wrap that was so big that I finished it out on the course. Recommend making a little time before your round to eat there.

For our twilight round we waited a little here and there but overall pace of play was around 4 ½ hours.

Greens, in great shape, little bit faster than Rancho Solano, mostly smooth and little bit more firm. Not as undulating and certainly not as big but definitely challenging. The greens are better guarded by bunkers and pins can be set in tough spots. You need to be careful not to be behind the pins out there. They can be slick coming back. Star of the show from a conditions standpoint and given the high amount of play this track gets, impressive.

Fairways, firm, mostly lush with occasional thin spots. It’s a level golf course so you get some good run out.

Rough, cut low, about an inch above the fairway height, mostly lush with occasional thin spots. Greenside rough is more lush and a little longer than adjacent to the fairways.

Bunkers, quality sand, little firm at times but in good shape.

Tee boxes, we played the white tees which get by far most of the play so they had some divot damage but driving by the blue and black tees, they looked near perfect, so to mixed feelings here about how to rate them.

Service excellent, very friendly staff, and talkative. Saw the cart girl many times. Everyone had a good attitude.

Highly recommended.

Round 2 of the Day with JohnnyGK & CIT. First time to Paradise Valley which is also directly off HWY 80 and about 10 minutes from Rancho Solano.

Started off in the Club House before our 2PM tee time. The food, service, and staff were exceptional. Do not pass up an opportunity to grab a bite here before or after your round! Also looked like they have live music on the patio on Thursday nights!

I had zero knowledge of this course prior to the day so I played extremely vanilla till I got comfortable. I found the course to be very fair with the right amount of of challenge.

This course is on the longer side compared to Rancho Solano with long, narrow fairways and smaller greens.

The greens are not particularly tricky, just smaller compared to it's sister course up the hill.

Small creeks come into play along with some aggressive doglegs into elevated and in some instances tucked greens.

Overall it's a fun course with a good challenge at a great value and easily accessible!

Played Paradise Valley GC with GK’ers parman72, BGarcelon and Cit. Last time it was an early morning start in October and this time a hot afternoon start at 2:00pm. I liked the hot afternoon start better!

It was a fast place of play and the golf course was in very good condition. Greens ran well, moderately fast, mostly smooth and firm. Fairways and Rough not as lush as in October but still in good shape. You can have a perfect lie to a thin dry lie. You can tell the course has been a little stressed from the recent 100+ heat. Bunkers had firm sand but playable. Tee boxes good shape, lush with a little divot damage. Overall the course presents itself beautifully. I liked it this time seeing the lakes more full than last year during the drought. Especially hole #6. This time we played the white tees as opposed to the blue tees. Big difference in challenge. Actually, more fun IMO and I’m a long hitter. Before the round, I made it point to eat again in the restaurant sports ball. Grabbed beer and burger, tasty. Big place that I’m sure will be blast on NFL Sundays. I liked this layout even better the second time. Course keeps growing on me. I’ll make sure to play it again if in town. Excellent practice facilities. Posted some fresh photos so check them out. Highly recommended.

Played an afternoon round with Johnny GK and two other gurus yesterday. Other than some brown spots in the fairways and a few traps that needed some attention, thecourse was in pretty good shape. Greens were very good, but my opinion may be colored by the fact that my putts were going in. Wind usually picks up in the afternoon, but it wasn't bad yesterday. Still, you need to pay attention to the wind on all of the par 3's. As a general approach on this course, left is best off the tee on the par 4's and 5's. Exceptions are #'s 2, 10 (maybe), 11, and 13. Great to meet Johnny GK and play a round!

Met a good friend of mine to play Paradise Valley while up in the Bay Area visiting family. A very cold morning on 12/7, 38 degrees on the car thermometer when we arrived. Had a 7:52 time and as we checked in, we got the news that there would be up to an hour delay because of the frost. Oh well. It turned out to be a about a 30 minute delay and after a nice breakfast, off we went. Got a $32 deal on their web site. I really enjoyed this course. Everything about this place was great. Huge clubhouse with adjoining restaurant, nice and friendly staff in the club house and throughout the course. Even though we were delayed, the starter got us out in order. Pace of play was just about 4 hours. Had to wait on a foursome ahead but nothing to complain about. The course is in very nice condition. Fairways are plush and are generous. Pretty flat layout but very enjoyable. A few dog legs and some of them around water. Had very good lies all day. The rough is just right, not too thick and playable. The sand traps are good, firm sand. The greens are rather large and are excellent. They rolled very well. I had a great time playing here and look forward to getting out here again. Paradise Valley and sister course Rancho Solano provide great golfing experiences. The restaurant is also very nice. Hats off to the folks who run these courses.

Played Paradise Valley GC as a GK Review Guru round on 10-19 with GK’ers sixpex, rgm2525 and jerry64. We teed up at 7:45am and my thin SoCal blood was having some issues with the cold morning, lol. By the end of the round it had warmed up at least 25 degrees. My first impression entering the course was immediately how clean and impressive the clubhouse was. Started the day with a delicious breakfast burrito in their large restaurant/sports bar. After our round we had lunch there as well. Great place to grab a bite.

As for the course it was in great shape. Very lush, very green. Greens ran moderately fast, smooth and mostly firm. Fairways lush with great lies all day. Rough 2-3 inches think and penalizing. Bunkers in excellent condition with soft quality sand. Tee boxes level, lush and nice shape. In terms of layout, flat with some water hazards, mostly wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, large greens with some undulation, good variety of holes, some holes surrounded by homes and others not, some doglegs and in general a long course. Solid demanding course. I posted a bunch of photos so check them out.

Service all day was excellent. Very friendly, professional and organized.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course, POP around 4hrs 15min. I would very much like to play it again - or even spend a Sunday there watching NFL football - after my round of course!

Played Paradise Valley on 10/19/16 as part of a GK Guru Deal. Course is nicely maintained and lush. Early morning 7:40 tee time so plenty of dew on the ground early. Fairways are rather wide so hitting them should not be a problem, not a gimmie but fair. Rough was probably 2-3 inches and thick, causing some difficulty in recovery shots. Bunker coverage was good around the green. Found a few fairway bunkers and my first thought was possibly just a bit much sand in hen I like to see. Greens were good. Medium speed and held most shots well.
Customer service was outstanding, friendly knowledgeable and willing to help with all your needs. Fun course to play and definitely worth the price, recommend playing if you have the chance.
