Played on Sunday morning and the pace was overall good. The greens were in excellent condition and fairly fast. They would hold a high shot and release the low ones. The fairways were also in good condition with some patchy areas in some of the rough. The traps were in good condition but the sand in the two I was in was a bit wet and heavy. They did appear to dry out a bit as the sun warmed the day. The staff is always nice and helpful. For my taste the back 9 is a better layout that has some really narrow fairways and holes that have a great view to the eye from the tee while the front 9 is a bit more blind target golf with holes that wrap around the hillsides. Overall the course was nice and I will be back at some point but not not a track I would want to play a lot with all that's out there these days.

It's been a while since I played out here and man-o-man has it gone down hill. The greens are recovering from punching but there are many bad patchy spots and people still refuse to fix ball marks. I played with a threesome that I saw actually step over, on and around them but never once in 18 holes did they actually fix one. When I mentioned it on several occations they just smiled and chuckled.
The tee boxes are really thin and some had no grass at all in areas. The fairways were ok in spots but not at all that great even for an often played muni.
Overall the course has always been a nice layout that is wide open and fairly easy to play and for $25 walking it's hard to complain but it could be in much, much better condition. While I understand it's the end of summer and the water issues being what they are the simple fact that players are not doing what they can to help out not only the course, the game, each other and even themselves by filling divots in fairways and tee boxes and fixing ball marks on the greens is completely unacceptable to me. Sorry for preaching but it doesnt take much effort to respect the game we play and the field we play it on.

Great course in really nice condition. The fairways were lush, the greens rolled true. The tee boxes were fairly level and in nice condition. The sand was a bit hard but no complaints here. The range was a pleasure as it is always nice to hit off the grass without mats although the putting area could be a bit larger. The staff were very friendly and the overall experience was terrific. I would highly recommend heading out this way to play if you have a day and would like a nice golfing experience.

Played 2/26, course in real good shape. Tee boxes nice, fairways were great. Greens were a but bumpy but for the most part rolled fast and true. While I understand the natural habitat sensitivity I think it's a bit over blown here. There are some areas that you should be able to hit from as you have a clear line to the greens or fairways but I guess if I stayed in the fairway in the first place I would not have cared about the those 4 penalty shots I had to take for the safety of the planet. All in all a nice course.

The course is not in the best of shape. I understand having to create a revenue stream but the 20 or so portable lights that line the first three fairways so they can get golfers out before sunrise do not add to the beauty of any golf course. Parking 10,000 cars on the course for UCLA football games don't help the condition either. While I used to love this track with the daily fees rising and having to put up with the 5 1/2 hour rounds, BBQ coals in the fairways, beer bottles and bottle caps everywhere, bare spots and car tire tracks all around, greens that bounce your ball instead of allowing a roll beacuse people won't repair a ball mark and some of the most grouchy staff around, I am sorry to say but I think you can find a better place to play for your money at this time. I would try back after the football season.

Greens are a bit bumpy and while the holes have healed from being punched the roll is still affected but they are fairly fast; lots of bare spots in the rough; fairways and tee boxes in great condition. Overall a very nice muni and an easy course to walk.

Played on Sunday 3/30. The starter and staff were terrific! The could not have been more friendly. The pace of play was very slow with a wait on every tee beginning with the 3rd hole but that was to be expected on a weekend afternoon here.
The greens were softened from the light rain and a bit spongy but overall were in great condition. the fairways were all very nice for the most part. This track is really nice for a muni and one of the best muni's around. I would however recommend getting out early on the weekends if you want to avoid the 5 1/2 + hour round.

Played 1/18. Still lots of bottle caps and grass burns from the rose bowl game but the course is recovering nicely. They seem to be making some course improvements by adding and refurbishing some of the bunkers. This will be a great addition when it's completed. The fairways are fairly nice for the most part and the greens are in fairly good condition and fast. The pace of play was very, very slow but I guess that was to be expected when teeing off anytime after 11:00 am.

Played on Sunday 9/30 and walked right on. The pace of play was great and very much a surprise but that was the only good news. The course was not in good condition at all and not really worth the green fees charged. While the greens were recently punched two weeks ago and I expected them to be a bit rough I did expect them to have healed better at this point then they had. They were still very rough in a lot of areas and were very bumpy. They seem to need a bit more water. Still people are not fixing their ball marks and that's a real shame. The green collars were awful and need some serious attention. They were so long that in some places just off the putting surface it seemed like you were in the rough. The fairways were not much better. There were places where water had collected and were very muddy and in places the Heinz 57 varity of grasses growing was weird. There were some bare areas and there were hundreds of bottle caps and lots of glass all over from the last UCLA game and it will only get get worse next week when they again park 25,000 cars on the course. Lastly the tee boxes which were recently redone are in bad condition and were in need of some care. This used to be one of the premier courses around but it seems to be sliding downhill.

I don't see why everyone loves about this course. You can't see most of the greens from the tees, some 2nd shots are also blind and the hills are a joke. There is something wrong with the set up when you hit a straght drive down the middle and it funnels off the fairway across the cart path into the dirt. Also you can't find a level tee area in the tee box. With all I have heard I was expecting a lot better track.
This course is not worth the green fees with everything else avalable in town. While I will not again pay to play this course in all fairness I must admit to the positives of the track. The greens were in nice shape and did roll true. As the afternoon heat dried them out they got really fast but remained true. The staff in the pro shop and the 19th hole were very nice but if I want nice people i'll go to Disneyland. What I truly want is a golf course thats fun to play, challanging but fair with some risk/reward and I did not find that here.

This course was great. The layout was terrific with great views and local features that made the each hole something special. The course was in absolute perfect condition and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. I would absolutly refer anyone to play here if they are ever in the area or if they want to take a few days to play some golf on a great track.

Played Friday 6/29. The course had some rough spots. The greens were long and very slow. They had been punched a few weeks ago but some were like putting on fairway grass at times. The tee boxes and fairways were ok considering the heinz 57 varity of grasses growing. Overall there were not many bare spots. The layout is nothing special and most likely a course I will not be returning to.
