Fairways--very green but like maybe 20-25 yds wide in spots--or less! Literally they look like US Open fairways. Come on people---this is supposed to be as much of a nice city-side developmental track as anything. Growing the game? Guy in the pro shop says pro likes it tough...BS.
Rough is garbage pockmarked weeds and grass as previous poster mentioned. Widen fairways and do something about the lies in the rough.
Bunkers---nice deep sand--needs compaction. They just poured it in and walked away...walk into a bunker --its like quiksand. BEst part--NO RAKES!! Sweet guys!
Pace of play is always good--you can buzz around in 1.5hrs after 5pm on a weekday--weekends--add an hr. unless after 4pm.
Design--cool little track that will test ya. #2 is close to a 200 yd par 3--tough. #6 better hit that driver thru the chute or over tress that have not been trimmed in 15 years I bet. #9 --a 460 yd par 4---huh? Thats serious baby.
Hit it if you can get it---but dont expect much. City $$ should be providing a better shaped track. Time to complain to Park and Rec's?

What a cool little track, this exec. layout is. Great greens, well watered turf, beautiful sand in bunkers. A lot of elevation changes make this a fun walk. I'd definitely return if in the mood for an inexpensive and quick round. CHECK it out if ya can't get a prime tee time at a regulation track. Country club conditions.

What a difference a few weeks makes?? Very different experience than previous poster. Played 18 with a buddy on an UnderPar deal. Beautiful layout, excellent customer service...folks were not over the top but ON it...everyone very helpful.
Greens rolled nicely and held shot of varying trajectories. I found a few bunkers and found them to have even, nice soft sand but with a bit of a "bottom" --which I always prefer to totally soft sand where your incoming angle has to be really on or you hit it fat.
Fairways were in great shape with a few resodded, patchy lies here and there. A private CC it isn't but is better than 80% of the goat tracks still running out there.
Great carts and GPS, lots of water and facilities.
Fantastic Chicken sandwich at the 19th with really really nice views from the Veranda. Worth $229---nah, $109 or a deal--yeah.

Green green green ........this is one green farm! All water features are full to brim ...everything growing. Nary a brown spot to be found really--mid summer!! As previous poster said.....greens are fantastic. They roll true and will accept even long irons like a dart--where you land it is where it will stay.
Bunkers are garbage...the low spot of an otherwise 8+/10 track. Great design, lots of multi tiered greens...lots of palm trees. Typical Ted Robinson design....one of SoCals best architects.
They recently lowered their rates and are now reasonable and in competition with everyone nearby.
Is Temecula area the best in SoCal for golf....one could really make that argument.
Get out there!

Nice day out at beautiful LQM. Fairways were nice with just some dead/dirt areas. Bunkers firm underneath with a 1 or 2" fluffy sand top. Greens were VERY slow and hairy....some dead areas on some greens. Some were in much better shape than others. Pop was just 3.5....course deserted. 111* reason why? Hahahha. Played on a teeoff.com deal for just $34. Soon they will be punching greens. Great design and plenty of water avail throughout the course. Only complaint was the swarm of flies ever present....front nine was very annoying ...back 9 not so much. Flies even bothered in the clubhouse.

Always a great at TCI. Fantastic ocean breezes on the Oaks-Stone run. $25@4pm---wut!? Best value in the IE for afternoon golf.
Fairways were cut tight and in fantastic shape. Greens were really in great shape. My only complaint was how firm they were. It was very difficult to hold approach shots with anything less than a wedge. It's tough to play US style golf (thru the air) on greens that release like this. You couldn't run them up links style or the ball would get caught up. Land em on the front 1/4 and you'll be ok.....red flag,...have fun! I've heard from several that long terms plans may be to remove holes on one or more of the 9s....I'd seriously cry if that happened. This course is such a gem....get out there and enjoy it!!!

It had been awhile since we played out here but upon hearing this place was back in business, it was time to see what they'd done......if anything. Their website had some nice pics of verdant, newly planted turf so I was hopeful. What I encountered was more of the same Summerly. Ratty, dead, spotted fairways ....a combo of weak grass and dirt. The front nine was a bit better that the back. I think it was fourteen was 90% dead and we laughed as we stood at the tee box ...no real idea where the hell you were supposed to hit to. The dead landscape offered no clues and depth as to where to go. We used an earlier review from a gentleman on GK off the phone and decided to hit it and hope! Ha ha. I finally did encounter the returfed fairway. It appears as though they are working on SOME of the fairways. Bunkers were very hard.......very penalizing as such. Bright spot were the greens.....very nice shape for the most part. We paid like $19 which I thought was appropriate. Not sure if its the soil (alkaline lake bed sediments) a lack of water or what....but if they want to attract golfers you need better conditions. This is not a really a course for beginner golfers, better golfers who frequent this type of course expect a bit more coverage. Course was reopened when home builder purchased it to sell homes. Enjoy it while you can....I expect that once homes are sold-- it will be back up for sale or closed permanently.

I'd skip for awhile.....very dry and dormant fairways-- just not a very nice look. Bunkers good. Most greens were nice, save for #8 on the front....huge dead holes in the front rt. quadrant---had to be some sort of disease. $39 holiday AM rate was pretty good compared to other local area courses. Great, quick pro shop service and starter--very efficient.

Very hairy fairways......look like they hadn't been cut in 2 days! We surmised that it must have been them trying to get the course grown in and prepared for the upcoming PGA tour guys. They already were building the stands!
Greens are healing..some better than others.
Rough was absolutely brutal.
Fairways had virtually zero roll so the 7000 yds played a lot longer than I was used to.
Almost every drive had mud balls when I arrived.
Always a great view and atmosphere.
Currently discounted due to conditions.
I'd wait until the 2nd week in Dec to hit it though.....let it come in and let them mow it.

I drove down to play it looking for something new and exciting.....I got a dry little winder through the houses. Ran into some guys that said you can play it much faster than the Vineyard...if that is important to ya. Quick greens that did roll well and were receptive to well struck shots. Fairways in OK shape with fairly generous landing areas for a tight little course. It's just 6500 from the blue so watch what ya hit off the tees. Bunkers sucked....most were very hard with dirt in them rather than nice sand. Rough ate balls well so watch if offline! With the coming rains I'd expect an improvement. I wouldn't go back there ....only because there are so many better courses closer. Worth the effort after it greens up a bit if you're in the mood for something different and cheap.

No where near the drama as the last guy. Played a quick 18 in just a hair over 3 hrs. this AM. Nice cool temps until hile 6. I spent a good 15 min as well looking for balls so it could have been quicker even.
Great track, such character to the holes. They had just killed off all the grass for the transition to Rye and according to one of the greenskeepers .....bent grass for the greens. I was worried the course was closing for good but they assured me it was business as usual.
I'll be back in Nov to check out the new course conditions.

Like a previous poster, I too had refrained from golfing my ball here. Pleasantly surprised at the condition however. Greens were in superb shape, fairways very good--- although tough to hit. Rough was very penal, tough to find balls hit offline as balls submarined. Not the longest track but narrow landing areas and tough rough made up for a lack of pronounced length. Be ready to hit accurate tee shots --hitting the fairway here goes a LONG WAY. Better to be 140 out in the fairway than 120 in the rough! Sand straps were a joke....WTF? Come on get out there and work on them please....it's the last piece of the puzzle really. Enjoyed the free rd. with the birthday promotion.....paid just $15 for a cart-- can't beat that eh? Especially when they offer it to you a week ahead and in back of your birthday. Give it a try.
