My 4some played May 1 with 20-30mph winds. Course is very fair and in good
to great condition. Rough is very manageable compared to Revere which we
played the day before. Greens are cool! Best part is their GPS! Very good info
provided compared to Primm (which we played the day after). Crappy basic
info on Primm's gps!! For a city owned facility, they do a very good job.
I have read about golfers not liking the pebbles inside bunkers. This just happens
to be the natural lay of the land when in the DESERT!!

Played on a perfect Apr 18 morning. Conditions are very good all around with greens that are contoured multi-level but not severe. Even though it is surrounded by residences, they allow plenty of room for play. Enjoyable course!

First time playing and tournament round at that. New club plays here yearly and I can understand why. As in most of the "Springs" area, conditions are wonderful!
There were many small/medium sized tournaments on both courses and their management of each was well coordinated. Palmer management does a great job for the city and as an added bonus, we received both breakfast and lunch buffets!
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time spent at this facility!!!

First time back since changing hands and names.
Standards are still high. One glaring problem was
unconditioned bunkers. Sand is damp or wet (one
also had half unplayable due to ponding water). All
bunkers are not the same but, I know that can be said
of many courses. Some are filled with new good sand and
others without. Some with more than 2" deep and others
without the benefit of a good layer. I "tested" 4 bunkers.
My reference to unconditioned meant they were not even
raked for the days play when I played out of the first one
at 8AM.
Always a good game with mostly good conditions. Greens
running medium fast.

PLAYED YESTERDAY WITH SLIGHTLY WINDY CONDITIONS.
THIS COURSE HAS SEEN BETTER CARE AND ATTENTION. AS WEBER COMMENTED,
THE BUNKERS ARE "PEBBLEY". THE TEE BOXES AND GREENS HAVE BEEN RECENTLY
AERATED(AS SO MANY AT THIS TIME HAVE BEEN). THE FAIRWAYS WEREN'T LUSH AND
WELL MOWN. ROUGH WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE ADVANCEMENT DIFFICULT. THE MAIN
DISAPPOINMENT WAS THE GREENS. THEY WERE NOT A CLEANLY MOWN OR CONDITIONED
PUTTING SURFACE WHICH I HOPE IS ADDRESSED BY THE NEW OWNERS/MANAGEMENT.
THANKFULLY, I PAY GEEZER RATE MOST EVERYWHERE I GO SO IT ISN'T A TOTAL LOSS.
JUST ISN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE!

THIS COURSE REMAINS IN GREAT CONDITION. IT IS AN EXACTING COURSE, WITH APPROACH SHOTS AT A PREMIUM BECAUSE OF THE GREENS. IF YOU CAN'T BRING IN
A SHOT FROM ON HIGH, YOU CAN RUN IT UP. SOME HOLES HAD SURPRISE TRAPS BEHIND THE GREEN TO "CATCH" YOUR RUNAWAYS OR HOTSIES. READING THE GREENS IS PREMIUM TO SCORING WELL. I LOST 5 SHOTS TO THESE DEVILS! GREAT LAYOUT AND NEEDS TO BE PLAYED MORE THAN ONCE A YEAR TO GET THE LAY OF THE LAND.

PLAYED IN A SAT. MORNING TOURNAMENT FOLLOWED BY LUNCHEON. COURSE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THE COURSE STAFF AND KITCHEN PERSONNELL WERE BOTH EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. ON OUR 16TH HOLE, THE CART WE WERE IN WAS DYING. WITHIN 5 MINUTES THEY HAD ANOTHER ONE TO US AND OF COURSE CHANGED ALL EQUIPMENT WHILE WE WERE PUTTING OUT. FOOD AND SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING (AS USUAL). I USED TO BE A MEMBER HERE AND STILL COME TO SUNDAY BRUNCHES. THE BALL MARK PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE RESOLVED. WELL DONE!!! RUDE DOG

I had a plan before going to play at the Links and I stuck to it. Following the helpful hints on the website, I carefully negotiated the fairways and found the undulating greens slow for this mornings' round. The course is a great challenge but it absolutely has to be played more than once to get a feel for how its laid out.
By having the company of two youngguns who had twice previously played it,I had general perceptions of what lines to take off teeboxes. There are no highlands here.
Everything lays below some imaginary grade. I can see where it could present golfers with some horrible lies.
The lack of bushes or trees makes it hard to "laser" for proper distances. The on board GPS is basic and really should be upgraded but then they couldn't get the 6bucks
for the yardage book. (Sorry-cheap shot).
All of you with sky-caddie type toys are in good shape.
I have to drop a dime on "Mike" in the C-house. After accepting my pay for play, he didn't give me any direction to take a cart or which way the warm up facility was. A little disappointment for an otherwise beautiful round of golf. RudeDog

This is the newly renovated course partly used for the LG Skins Game. At this time of the year, they have plenty of bottled water and ice with towels included to dry off or cool down. Their GPS is outstanding but I have to admit that I still resort to playing by eye and the seat of my pants. 85 isn't bad on this bugger for a hot June morning (7AM). Fairways vary from tight to very fair.
Nice fluffy sand in the traps and they are numerous!!! Only had to hit out of two! Greens weren't running fast because of the early morning syringing. Marshal told me they would be about 11
that afternoon. One of those courses that has to be played more than once to know the right lines off the tees. I liked all of the forced carries from the teebox. Not quite your typical "desert golf" layout. Went for the green with a short flag on #12(248yds)
and managed a bird from 12' after my 1st swing. Remember,I am a 60 yr old geezer! Have to play more in the desert.......

Used to be a Senior Tour stop. One local told me they didn't like
the difficulty of it. I think it used to be an exceptional course, however, now it is city owned and in a bit of disrepair.
Hole layout is very interesting. It is an up and down course with
some holes having right to left or left/right fairway tilt. Water comes into play on almost half the holes. Inexpensive and needs a couple of plays to get down the routing. Highest point of the course has a great view of downtown Reno.

Played just ahead of the previous reviewer on Thurs.
Round took just over 4.5 hrs as a threesome with two short hitting duffers.
Ditto the conditions of the course. The layout takes getting used to and the design is very good. Tight landing areas and falloffs on some holes and very open fairways on others. Always pay attention especially when the wind is blowing and it was today! Rough is bermuda and fluffy.
If your ball sinks in it, you may be for the hole too. The beginning of the "Ridge Route" is an uphill par 5 and after that it becomes attention getting for planning tee to green and visually appealing for the highest points of the whole complex. Enjoy the scenery and play wisely. I have to come back to catch a windless day! Water features are here and there and add to the drama of those holes swings. Ya, the amenities are extremely spartan, and the lack of yardage markings can irritate, but remember that the game was meant to be played that way. This place will develop into a great course.

What a great course! All the elements except water. Stayed away from the bunkers until the last hole and d.bogeyed. Quiet and a very good walk. Wonderful links golf at the end of the 118.
Shaved aprons are massive and deceiving at first. I think I can actually call it an experience playing this course. Loved it!
