Wow, so lucky I was able to play the GK event in my backyard home course. What a great bunch of people I met today, finally able to meet Johnny, and it was an honor, Sir. Great short game clinic and tour of the Lorena Ochoa training facility. Of course the playing at Goose was awesome, thanks to Johnny for the lovely parting gifts and my new ball marker, I will use it every round. Looking forward to playing in my next GK event.

THANKS ! ! It was FUN !

Played last week with good buddies, nice to not have the heat any longer. Course was in fairly nice shape. Greens were slower than used to at San Dimas probably still recovering from the aeration. Fairways were fine, rough was a bit thin. Not too many wet areas. Bunkers were fluffy sand.

Play at The Goose all the time and from the awesome staff to the awesome conditions, there is no course that can match Goose Creek. Played on Friday Aug.1. Greens are running very fast and smooth. Fairways are perfect (People, use the divot mix on your cart to fill your divot and fix one more while you have the bottle in your hand) Bunkers ? Majority of the bunkers have plenty of smooth sand in them, it gets windy here so the sand tends to blow out of select bunkers.
I Love this place.

Played this past Sunday, 6/29/14 with my group and I gave this course one more chance. I cannot release any of my funds to this course again. The greens (about 14 of them) are gone, fungus growing all over the greens that look like a type of seaweed splayed about, makes the ball jump everywhere, they need to tear up 1/2 of each green and reseed/resod while using the other half of the green for play. Tee boxes were ok, mostly uneven though. Fairways were acceptable, hit the fairway and get rewarded, right ? hit the rough and maybe you have grass, maybe dirt. Bunkers had nice sand in them and they were actuall raked by the staff this time before us golfers hit the links. I live too far from Brookside to drive here again. Goodbye, turn it into a parking lot

Played Fathers day morning with great pals that I grew up with, good weather made for a very enjoyable day, how can it be bad when you are golfing with guys that you have known since childhood. Course was Prado, if you hit the fairways you have a decent shot, if you miss the fairway, you pay for it with a difficult lie in that stringy grass or thin patch. Greens were in great shape, not too many pitch marks that others failed to fix, some sunflower seeds on the greens ! pet peeve, eat sunflower seeds but dont spit out the seeds on the greens you jagoffs. $45.00 on a Sunday, couldnt beat the price and plenty of time for the Fathers Day BBQ at home in the afternoon with Pops !

Played on 12/27 with a bowling buddy. We knew it would be slow being Christmas week. We got to the third tee in one hour and 10 minutes. Well, we didn't have much going on that day so we just grinned and bared the pain of "The Wait" Course was in much better shape than is usual for DEC/JAN. Blame it on good luck with the nice sunny weather we have enjoyed in SoCal, specially designed for us golfers. Greens were medium fast, fairways had a lot of green still in them and rough was thin, hard pan. The final 16 holes took 4 1/2 hours.
Im playing here again for our tournament club first tourney of the year tomorrow. Hope it is fun for all.

Played on 8/4/2013 in tournament. I have played this course many times in the past, especially long ago when it was cart path only and at the end of the round you would always be dragging due to the numerous walks back and forth to the cart, and if you got to your ball and realized "Oh no, I don't have enough club" back to the cart you go. So our tourney was great as always and the conditions, I agree with the most recent reviews, the only negative was the fairways were a bit mushy in places and around the green aprons. I love the new GPS system, except it shuts off when you are too close to the greens, (20 yards?) it shut off on us many times when we were 40 to 50 yards away. Need to fix that, at least a warning and full power to get back to the happy zone. My only gripes, mushy fairways and the cart shutting off too aggressively. It wasn't a great scoring day for me, an off day, but I had fun with my buddies. Weather was great, hope it stays like this through August !

Played Yucaipa for first time in about a little more than a decade. Played with three buddies so the time was very enjoyable. Course was ok by my standards, teeboxes were easy to find a good spot to place your tee. Fairways were fair, some bare dirt spots and many unfilled divots. Greens rolled very good, fast hard greens. Rough was thin and the traps were all fine except one on back nine that was muddy and unplayable (Yep I had to play from it twice) Tee off Sat at 12:30 for 25.00 was great and the weather was very pleasant too.

Played on April 7, 2013 after playing Laughlin Ranch the day before. We love to play El Rio after Laughlin Ranch as the courses are so different it makes it fun. Course is in great shape, greens are slow but we were used to the slow speed from day before and adjusted quickly. Tee Boxes were all level and easy to find a spot to place your tee. Fairways were fine, just a few bare spots. Rough was short and easy to hit from. Pace of play, we were a 3some and let 3 twosomes play through and we still finished in under 4 hours. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Had lunch after golf and the food at El Rio was yummy too. If you stay at Laughlin Hotel, you get a reduced rate.

Played this past Saturday. 4/6/13. Course is like looking at PGA tour on CBS. Cross hatched fairways only spoiled by the boneheads that dont know how to utilize cart paths until they line up with their ball 90 degrees. Greens were slow for our liking but got used to the speed and putted well. Tee boxes are perfect, sandtraps are fluffy enough to get your ball going in the right direction. Pace of play, we finished in 3 hrs. 40 minutes. Staff friendlt and accomodating. The only thing we had to deal with was about 12 million grass hoppers that are migrating from the hills to the water edge of the river. They didnt bother me, but I had a weird dream about bugs on Sat night. Oh also, The best GPS system ever ! touchscreen so you can touch a sandtrap on screen and a box pops up with the yardage to the trap. AWESOME !

Played with my golf group on Sunday, March 10th. The only issue was not course control, it of course was the I.E. wind, but it was playable, not like it was two weeks ago. Course is in good shape, greens are awesome, quick and smooth. Looks like majority of players actually fixing pitch marks which is nice to see. Rough is Jurupa Hills normal, thin and stringy with patches of dirt/mud to contend with but Hey ! miss the fairway ? what do you expect ? Fairways were ok, too many divots that people dont take the time to put some sand in after hitting their irons. (you shouldnt have any sand left in your bottles after 18) I have played here for many years and I really commend the maintainence staff for the improved conditions which make this course very enjoyable, no longer is it just a cheap twilight course

I believe the review from 2/14. Played on the 20th and the greens and sand traps were great. No grass in the fairways, either hitting off dirt or mostly mud, it was great hitting a nice drive down the middle of the fairway and arriving at the ball and finding it on mud or in a divot ! This was a tournament club that I played in and our director called during the prior week to find out if the review from 2/14 was accurate and the Manager said No, the course is in great condition. I like Soboba, but I will not be back, they will not get a penny from me again. Greed is not Good as said in a famous movie.
