Played the course again on Sunday 3/25. Chance of rain so not very busy. Greens in good shape. Course is a nice layout but not in great condition. But what can you expect for $16 to walk on a weekend.

Nice layout but it is a bit out of control. No marshals. Big gaps of one hole or more between groups. Played with a couple who were getting high and drunk and didn't seem like they played much before. Luckily they quit after 13 holes.

If the course was actually maintained and marshaled it might be a nice play to play. But it is not.

Gave it a bad review last summer.

Since the overseed in October the course is in great condition. Great place to play as long as there is no wind.

Played it twice a month since November.

Happy hour specials are the best in the desert area.

Played there two weeks ago on a Tuesday. Fun course. Not in perfect condition but good.
Very quiet place.

Used to be 27 holes but one 9 was closed because of the economy.

Not a fancy place but fun to play.

This course is very challenging. However, the maintenance has gone down in the past few years. Casper Golf manages it and I guess they are trying to eke out as much profit as they can.

Because it is snowbird time it is very crowded since the green fees are very low for this time of year.

However, the sand is hard dirt and it looks like they are spending the minimal amount to keep the course playable. Greens are OK. They only overseed the fairways and they are OK. Not good but OK.

Too bad. Several years ago it had 27 holes of challenging and fun golf.

Played on 1/23 around 9:00 a.m. Pace of play horrible. Course condition horrible. It is an L.A. County course but compared to other county courses such as Lakewood or Mountain Meadows this is one of the worst.

The county lets others run the course and whoever runs this course should be discharged.

I have played this course for 30 years and it is in the worst I have seen it in awhile.

Oh well it was busy and nobody seems to care if it is in good or bad condition.

Played Butterfield on Sunday 10/2. The pro shop persons are very nice but the pace of play was horrible. Fivesomes two holes behind didn't care. Pro shop didn't help.

Beyond the pace of play the course was in horrible condition. Greens just punched. aereated. Fairways were being overseeded. Unless it rains hard course will be in better condition in November.

Pro shop disclosed the bad conditions and only charged $25 with cart but the pace of play was horrible. Probably better to play Los Serranos where they do seem do care a bit about pace of play but it is more expensive.

Yes it could be called Yuccrapa but i have a different reason. The course was in average shape. Greens were good. I agree with the last reviewer that the Rough and Fairways kind of blend in.

However, if playing on a Tuesday late morning for 4 hours and 50 minutes is fun for you then go to this course. No marshals. Fivesomes allowed. Not going back for awhile.

Play here every couple of months. Played on 9/12. Conditions haven't gotten any better since the new owners took over. Bare spots. Sand is bad. Greens are OK. Lots of uneven tee areas. Doesn't look like the new owner is putting any money into it yet. Still OK but not as pristine as when it first opened

Course needs work. Good design but not in very good condition for a country club. Lots of bare spots. Greens were OK. Under new management so maybe it will be improved in a few months.

First time played since it was renovated. Likes the old course better. Very tough course but the blue tees are too hard for the average player and the white tees are too easy. Played 7 blue tees and 11 white tees. Course in great condition. Worth the price.

Played on 8/16. Nice course for the price. Not too hard but challenging. No houses around it. Walkable. Good pace of play just under 4 hours on a weekday. Better than I thought it would be.
