Played anaheim Hills today on a very busy Thursday morning. Played in about 4:45. Course is in very good shape. The rough had some bare spots. Bunkers were very fluffy. You may get a fried egg once in a while. But I thought the two bunkers I was in were fair.

Practice green was pretty quick. Greens on the course were about 2 stimps slower. They rolled well and were pretty smooth. Not many ball marks. Course is pretty quircky you need to play here more than once to appreciate it.

If there is a better value, better lay out, better customer service, better run course around I have not found it. Played Fri, Sat and Sun. Greens are firming up for the RSM Amateur next weekend. Fairways and rough are in great shape. Some of the tee boxes are built very narrow which limits being able to move the tee markers around. Thus the par 3 boxes get beat up pretty good.

Sunday was a Men's Club event, shotgun start. We were playing at a good pace until the 17th hole. Tough hole. Cart path only on that hole. It was backed up 3 groups. We started on #10 and that side took almost 3 hours to play due to that one hole. We got to the first hole and played the front side in exactly 2 hours. No rain, no wind great brunch afterwards. Good times.

Played early Mon Am with a 2 for 1 email special. Could not have one guy pay cash and the other with a card. San Juan has a long history of weird rules. Guy also beefed me because I printed out the email in 3 pages instead of 1 page. Almost did not want to give me the special. Again San Juan rules.

Greens were in great shape. Fairways were thin and more bare spots than a dog with mainge. 4.5 hours. Mostly because everyone wants to hit 2,3, or 4 balls off of each tee. Guys in my group included. Traps were ok just not raked. Worth the $27 but not much more. Doubt I will be back.

Played late this morning in my weekly skins game. Course in very good shape right now. Greens get a little bumpy and shaggy late in the day. Fairways and tee boxes (Blacks) were in very good condition. Absolutely the best value in OC. And the management was very excited to hear they won an award from Greenskeeper. Had 3 from the shop tell me how how great it was to be recognized by GK.

Played New Years Eve. Called at 7:45 and asked to get a single out. Said I had an 8:42 tee time. Put me with two great locals who had some course knowledge as I had not played Sun Mountain before. Bag staff met me in the parking lot and took my bag. They also directed me to the pro shop. Got to my cart with clubs loaded and headed to the range for all you can hit balls on grass. Putted for a while on very large putting green. A few instructions from the starter and we were off on time.

Played the tips which really did not make the course much longer as I still hit two of the par 5's in 2. Fairways were cut very tight and we got a lot of roll off the tee. Now 3 of the 4 par 3's were over 200 yards. Add a little breeze and they were tough.

Don't remember being in any traps put partners said they were in good shape. Bev cart around on the front but not on the back. Snackbar at the turn was closed. Very good value for $69 during Christmas week. Would be a very tough course with any significant wind.

Played Tijeras at 11am this morning. Course is in awesome shape. Met at the car by the staff who took my bag. Bev cart around 6 or 8 times. Played in 4.5 hours. Weather was perfect. Shot 36 on the front. Great Christmas Eve....

Played the Oaks/Creek this morning. Teed off around 8:15 in a cold and blustery wind. Course recovered well from the over night rains. Greens were pretty slow as they had not been cut due to the rain. Very few pitch marks and they rolled very well. Tee boxes and fairways in great shape. Course has a lot of dog legs. Fade this hole, draw the next hole. Lots of trees to maneuver around. Service was very good. No bev cart but snack bar was quick with a very good breakfast burrito. I had not played here in about 10 years. I will go back sooner than later.

Played with 10 other GK'ers at 9am. Threat of rain only as we had good weather conditions all day. Course was in great shape. I did not see any unrepaired ball marks on any of the greens. Sandtraps were a little hard packed from the rain. Helped the ball sit up. I knocked when in the cup out of the bunker on #3 so I guess they were to my liking.

Excellent customer service as always. GM Hank came by after our round to make sure we had everything we needed. Bev cart around 3 or 4 times. Great day. Thanks JohnnyGK everyone had a great time.

Played at 7am this morning. 42* at tee time. Warmed up pretty good by #7. Course is in great shape. 3 greens are still recovering but the others are smooth and pretty fast. 4 hour round, plenty of bev carts and marshalls around. Starter always very customer service oriented and wants you to have a good time.

Played at 8am on Wed before T-giving. Luckily got out before the group behind us who played in 5 hours. We finished in about 4.25hours. Tees and sand were great. No rough. Fairway grass was very tight and brown. Tis the season. Greens were very fast with some diabolical pin place ments. 4- 3 putts will attest to that. 1 of them was def my fault. The other 3 were due to pin placements. That's my story. Greens were also sprayed with a green dye to liven them up a little. No starter. Bev girl around twice. Very nice day. You def have to play here more than once to get used to the burns. Especially on #2 and #12. Play there and play there often.

Broke my own "Don't play twilight" rule. Was the last group out before the twilight times started. So I paid full boat. My bad. Group ahead of us teed off 30 minutes before us. We caught them on #3. 3 hours, 12 holes I was done.

Course was in great shape. Greens were perfectly smooth and rolled well. I will be back ust not on a weekend afternoon.

Played Tieras Creek Thur at 1130 and Saturday at 0645. Thursday was CPO but Sat we were back out in the fairways. Fairways and tee boxes are still shaggy from the overseed. #4,#5 and #10 greens still recovering from deep punches. The rest of the greens are very fast by Tijeras standards. Played both rounds in about 4 hours. I think it is the best course in OC. But that may just be me.
