I played a tournament at YVGC yesterday morning....WOW! The course is borderline dog track material (based upon current conditions). Every fairway is a tight lie. I started putting my shots into the rough so there was some grass. Even at that, the grass was patchy. The greens were acceptable. The board on the club house said the greens were "9.5...FAST". Is that an inside joke? I've only played here twice this year and they were both business related tournaments, but there is no way I would spend $50+ to play here. To be honest, I don't know if would play here for $30. Sorry :(

I played 10/25/2005. The super botched the greens. There are two seperate levels on each green. This can be fixed, but it will take a little time. Other than the green, the course looks good.

The course was purchased by the tribe. Over the next 18 months, the course will undergo a major overhaul. All of the existing structures on the property will be torn down and replaced. In addition to a lavish new clubhouse, a hotel and spa are being added. It is possible that there could even be an on sight casino. As far as the course goes, the design team of Schmidt/Curly is being brought in to enhance the existing layout. The duo is choosing not to mess with the course's A+++ greens. However, they will be making changes to the existing bunker structure. They are attempting to make the course more difficult for the better player without comprimising the playability afforded to the average player. When the project is completed, the course and it's facilities will contend with any of the big boys. I don't know the exact number, but we are talking 10's of millions of dollars that will be pumped into the facility. The big news is that green fees will not change for at least the next 3 years. Obviously, any loss from the course is being covered 100 times over by casino profits. It must be nice.

Played General Old on 1/2/2004. Right know, this is the best $40 - $50 course in the entire Inland Empire area. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all in $75 course condition. The rough is brown in alot of places, but very playable. On top of the great conditions, it only took our 3 some 3 1/2 hours to play.
