Without a doubt one of the best courses in Southern California. As mrobertson (below) found out, this couse is about course management and accuracy. It can be difficult and without a doubt gets more and more fun the more you play it, once you become familiar with the holes. It's always in great shape and the service rivals any country club. I've taken lessons from the on-site pro, Les Johnson, for several years and, in my mind, he's a genius. Knocked 12 strokes off my game. (FYI, discount coupons can be found at www.golfQ.com)

Played yesterday and, as usual, the course is in great shape. (Although they did just fertilize the greens this week which, other than leaving big ugly tire marks on the greens, didn't really affect play.) Always a fun course it's mostly about club selection and accuracy than distance. Best time to play is usually late morning or mid-day. Signature hole is 17 with an island green.

The only downside is that you need an LA City card to make reservations, but you simply cannot beat the price. And kids (I belive 16 and under, check with the course) play for $5! Wide open and sometimes hard fairway grass, but some good elevation changes and a few tricky holes. A few have huge premiums for accurate short-cut shots and not too much penalty if you miss. Good practice facility (putting and chipping green and large practice sand trap) and their clubhouse makes the best breakfasts in Southern California.

Completely agree with den888 below. Leave the big clubs in the bag and you'll have a great time. Course management is a must and remember, all puts break towards Burbank.

This course is heavily played (therefore, can be slow) and is always in just fair condition. Let's face it, it's an LA City course. But the great thing about this course is that it's fairly long and wide open, so if you're working on your long game it's a really safe place to air the ball out without too much trouble. It also has a few really interesting holes. Played yesterday and fairways were a little dry in spots and the greens were a little bumpy, but for the price it's still a bargain.
