What a gem of a course!! Great challenging layout where no two holes are like. Tight fairways and undulating greens allow for alot of risk/reward-type shots. Plus alot of the architecture and scenery was pleasing to the eye! Truly one of the best in Riverside County, and will definitely be back!!

Not much to this track at all. Just a bunch of the same holes, just different lengths. No real challenges at all except for the length. And not much to look at either. Nearby Cathedral Canyon is much more enjoyable, and for pretty much the same price. Plus, this course has nearly no water, only two places on the whole course. But then again, for the price we paid, what more could we expect? Probably won't be back - too many other nice courses in the area for resonable prices during the summer. If you just want to mess around, or work on something in your game, Taqhuitz is the place for you. Otherwise, if you want an enjoyable round of golf, go elsewhere.

Played La Contenta last Sunday, the last day of a 3-4 day storm we had in the area. So as you can imagine the course was quite soggy in places, and the traps were watered down and compacted. However, the course seemed to hold up nicely through all the rain.

Booked the tee time on line the morning of, and called the course to see if we could arrive early and tee off early (to avoid any possible rain in the afternoon). We were told that they expected a full day, and the earliest would be 15 min. prior to the scheduled tee time. When we arrived, there was no one on the course. We saw other golfers maybe once or twice the whole day. Thankfully, it never rained.

Like I said, the conditions were still pretty good. The addition of GPS on the carts is a nice addition, and the new pro shop (which isn't finished) is looking nice.

Always enjoy playing La Contenta, and can't wait to come back.

Played Cimmaron the day after Christmas, and was excited to get out to a desert course in the winter.

Upon arrival, we were pleased with the overall setup: drive-up bag check through which staff loaded the clubs onto carts for you. Nice pro shop and friendly staff.

However, once we got to the carts and headed to the range, we were kind of dissapointed. The scorecards were in shoddy condition, like they had been rained on or resused. When we got to the range, we found out that a small bucket of about 20-25 balls is $5. That's completely ridiculous.

We were also surprised to see that their were no starters, marshalls, cart girls, nothing. And on the day after Christmas in the desert, we expected so much more.

The golf course itself was decent at best. Conditions of fairways and greens were pretty good. The greens were quite fast and firm, making them a definite challenge. However, the lay-out was kind of boring and lacked personality. No elevation changes, wide fairways, and bunkers never really came into play, at least not from the set of tees (whites) we played from. It just seemed like every par 4 and 5 were kind of the same.

Overall, I had a fun time playing for the simple fact that I was playing golf in the desert on a holiday in the winter, therefore, nice weather. But the course and the amenities left much to be desired. I certainly wouldn't pay full price to play here again.

First time at this course, and I loved it!! Every aspect of the course, from quality of fairways and greens, to challenge, to requirements on the golfer to hit different kinds of shots, this was an absolutely enjoyable time. Except, of course, having to deal with the devishly fast greens. And yeah, it is kind of weird starting the round with a short par 3, but heck, that's a minor detail. Will definitely be back!!

Oh my goodness....!!!! What a hell of a course!!! I can't believe there is such a nice course with such good staffing and service here in the inland empire, for such a reasonable price to boot!! You put this same exact course and staffing in the desert and you'd easily pay $80-$100, and happy to do so. This course is immaculate. And don't be deceived by the course rating; with the winds blowing, this course is no walk in the park by any means. I will be back, and back again!!

You can't beat a quality course for a pretty cheap price. And General Old is just that. Always enjoy playing this course when I'm in town. A course with its own share of challenges that still is playable enough to where you can go low. This course is quite the steal!

When the wind is howling, beware! - the already misleading course and slope ratings become even more so. The changes in elevation, requirements for shot making, and tricky greens, all combined with the fairly stiff winds can make for a very "interesting" round, to say the least. But the conditions are always nice, and its always a pleasure to play here.

Really, there were only two disappointments with the round. One - the shotty conditions of some of the greens. A few appeared somewhat diseased, and the vast amounts of unfixed ball marks on a few greens were quite frustrating to see, expecially at a nice course such as this. The other problem, no mention of the extensive work being done to the fairways on the back nine. No prior mention of the fairways being punched, and being the first group out for the day, we had to find out all by ourselves. But all together, always a great time and great golf at Crosscreek.

Played a couple of times the week or so. Truly a bargain for the quality of the golf course, the customer service, and the carts with gps. The course is forgiving overall, but a few holes throughout the track do demand your attention. If you sleep on 'em, expect to put up high numbers. Always enjoy playing here and will definitely be back when I'm in town.

Ok, seriously, greenskeeper members, let's be honest when rating courses. There is no way that Escena can be an 8.85, or whatever it currently is listed as. Pretty much the only good thing about this course was the customer service and the scenery of the course(waterfalls, lakes, etc.) The teeboxes were covered with small stones, parts of the fairways were thin and brown, the greens (which were punched and sanded a couple of weeks ago) were still in sad shape, and the bunkers were absolutely horrible - hardly any sand and filled with stones. Oh, and not to mention the construction right next the many of the holes. On one tee box, we had to try and tune out a cement mixer while teeing off. To be honest, for $30 on a Sat. mid-morning, it almost wasn't worth coming out from Riverside. Alot of potential, but won't be back until the course is in much better shape. Maybe it gets alot better during fall/winter.

Played at around 12:15 and was done in about four hours, despite the fact it was fairly crowded. Changes made to a couple of tee box positions changed one par 4 to a 5, and one par 5 to a 4. Didn't make much of a difference anyway. Greens tricky as always with the subtle breaks and changes in speed. As usual, a joy to play, will definitely be back.
