GOOD: The course conditions are quite nice. For the green fees they charge here, the course is rather lush and has that superior upkeep look to it. I'd say similar courses w/in this price range are bit more rough around the edges. Customer service was good, too. Whenever I play here, I'm always amazed how they managed to shave off the hillside and squeezed in 18 holes of regulation course in such compact area.
BAD: The round took 5 hours and 45 minutes. Had to wait on every hole and just about every shot. It didn't help the matter that I got paired up with very annoying and unfriendly two-some. This father and son combo had no golf ethiquette, droved their cart all over the place (receiving multiple repremends from the marshall), and hit onto a group ahead several times. I was totally embarassed to play with them. Although management has only limited control of who and what types of people come and play there, it needs to do a better job of spacing tee times on a narrow fairway course like this. At least keep the play going at a reasonable pace via all possible means. They owe that to paying customers. Even as I acknowledge the good course conditons, it's just shame that it took almost six hours to play a round of golf.

Played on very hot day of 104+ temperature. First off, I was pleansantly surprised fairways were quite nice considering the heat wave this area has endured for the past few weeks. Kudos to the greenskeeper here for their efforts to keep the course irrigated but not overly soaked. This course is a nice blend of challenging holes and some fun holes. Tee boxes, aforementioned fairways, and greens were all in acceptable conditions. The only discernable problem was some gopher (or some other critter) holes near the 16th green. The entire staff (pro-shop, starter, marshall, and cart girl) was excellent and courteous in services. The round took approximately 4 1/2 hours on Sunday morning.
Compared to recent months for this course, the conditions were mediocre to just fair. Perhaps last week's rain caused some problems, especially in back-nine, and not enough time to recover fully. Greens were inconsistent from slow to bumpy to fast depending on locations. Had to play behind a five-some and the round took just about 5 hours, which I find rather unacceptable for a weekday play. Don't mind so much the five-some per se, but four of them should have played from white tees instead of back tees. Didn't take too long before they were two holes behind the group ahead. It bewilders me as to why some people insist on playing beyond their abilities. Golf should be fun and challenging, but I suppose some people prefer self-imposed suffering for the sake of their egos. In any event, I'd wait a few more weeks for the fairways and tee boxes to heal before playing Tijeras.
Most likely due to hot and dry summer months, current course conditions are less appealing than the last time I played here in March. Several fairway areas have turned brown or bare. It appears maintenance crew is over-watering in some areas as well. A few areas were surprisingly lush for this time of the year. I'd say tee boxes and greens are fair except for the usual unattended ball marks. The course was just about empty due to over 100 degree temperature and was able to complete the round in 3 1/2 hours. Despite using a cart, I had to walk quite a bit, because a couple of long holes were roped and being worked on. As a side note, the management should consider putting more than just one water cooler per nine holes when a cart-girl is not roaming the course during summer. One can get seriously dehydrated on a day like this in Inland Empire.
Considering how dry recent months have been here, I think the maintenance staff has done a good job of managing the fairways. For the most part, tee boxes and greens were in acceptable conditions. Greens, however, are in mediocre to less than mediocre conditions. Players who miss the fairways here will have to deal with large mature trees throughout the course. It's also difficult to find errant balls around a lot of fallen leaves. The course rotates mostly new to newer golf carts now, and that is a big plus. The round took approximately four and 1/4 hours for our threesome on a weekday morning.
The course has improved much since last time I played here. They finally got rid of that dreadful mat in 16th tee by revamping the area. Also, 14th tee box has been resodded and the hole lengthened as well by moving the tee area back about 15 yards. Shorecliffs is still a bit rough around the edges, but I'm always pleasantly surprised by the conditions of the greens. Overall, the course seems it is headed in the right direction, and let's just hope its management stays focused on improvements.
This is a fun little course for beginners and/or to work on your short game. Course conditions are fair to good depending on the holes. A lot of young children were playing on Sunday, May 24th, and caused quite a back-up on every hole. After a few holes, my group just decided to enjoy the weather and to just accept the outing as a walk in a park. Good thing we had that attitude, because the round took over three hours to play a short nine-holes course.
What a wonderful father's day this was!! Got some nice gifts from wife and kids and a great lunch to boot. I even got in a fun round of golf at San Juan Hills. The course is in decent shape albeit some usual bumpy greens mainly due to unattended ball marks. Also, some of the back nine fairways need TLC or they may look pretty bad when the real hot months stop by. It appears the course was very busy this weekend, and I give the greenskeeping staff some credit for nicely maintaining the tee boxes . Otherwise, the course is very playable. Experienced good customer service from all staff members, especially at the bar and even the cart-girl. The round took just under 5 hours on Sunday afternoon.
It's a nice golf course w/ an interesting layout. Customer service was excellent as well, but you'd expect that for a course that charges around $100 for a round. Tough to read greens compensate well enough for relatively short fairways and made the round challenging. The course is in good shape overall. If the green fee wasn't so high, it would be well worth visiting again numerous times.
Fairways and tee boxes were better than anticipated, but several greens were too bumpy. I suppose pace of the play was acceptable for a weekend golf in O.C. - about 5 hours. Too many yahoos and hackers hitting balls in all directions, so one needs to pay attention at all times. My group had too many close calls thoughout the round. The guy at pro shop was one of the rudest and unprofessional characters I've ran into at a golf course.
Very good overall conditions throughout the course w/ good customer service. It's one of the pricey courses in O.C., and this establishment almost always meets customers' expectations. Some of the players on the course, however, acts rather haughty, but I suppose that naturally comes with the territory. Watch out for some regular club members who seem to hold disdain for visiting players. The round took about 4 1/2 hours.
If you don't mind the construction noise and dust flying around, this is a fun course to play. Overall conditions of the course is pretty decent. I just wish my fellow golfers/hackers would fix ball maks on greens more regularly. I thought customer service by everyone I came in contact with was excellent. A good pace for the round as well - about 4 hours.
