Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Played 22 holes on Sunday 8/29 with GolfExtra ($75 per player). Although course is currently upgrading its irrigation system all holes were open. I can't complain due to nice ocean views, weather and staff. The greens and bunkers were in decent shape, however don't expect lush fairways @ reduced fees as they were thin with bare spots on most holes. Completed our round in under 4 hours. Overall a good golf outing at the price of $75 for Sunday in O.C.
It was freaking hot today! With the oil drills nearby on 18, it felt like a Saudi desert (not the signature hole). The service and course were respectable. By the back 9, just thought about finishing instead of enjoying the round. I will try this course again in cooler conditions and then have a better take.
Despite having a temporary clubhouse, and a very confused starter.....it was a truly memorable round. The service could be better but I and other higher handicaps should enjoy this course since it doesn't play very long and isn't too tight. We played Creek / Valley and I was bombing the driver today. Made eagle on No. 7 Valley (Driver 300, 3 Wood 230, 2 ft. putt). My 2 greatest shots getting there! Also made 40 foot chip-in birdie on #1 handicap on Creek course. I will definetly play this course again and again after today. For the money, this course is much nicer than higer priced, less scenic courses in O.C. If you haven't played Aliso Viejo yet, try it.....just be patient with the check-in diversions, the starter, and get there early on weekend.
Customer Service was great from the bag drop, club house to the tee. This course was fun to play although it was pretty windy at times. Had 4 O.B's on the front nine which made for a pathetic front. Settled down on the back and really enjoyed myself.
$112 for green fees is rather steep for Friday at 1:00, not to mention $5 for a Heineken. Bringing my own next time.
I will definetly play this track again at twightlight rates during the week. Strawberry Farms and Oak Creek are $135 for the same time and don't compare to the layout and caliber of this course. Talega, in my opinion, is one of the TOP 3 courses top play in Orange County. Great Track!!
