Played this morning in 3:15. There is a new GM (John) and he and his staff were making every effort to be organized and getting everyone out on time (it worked today). They even had a marshal out in the 1st fairway with a large light, finding balls for the early players to keep things moving (eliminate glow balls hand out lights). Course was in good condition from tee to green (greens not punched yet). Some of the tee boxes needed some attention, or at least the markers need to be moved around. Fairways were nice and provided good lies and roll. No issues by anyone regarding the sand traps. Rough (what little there was) was high enough to cause trouble (especially early as it was wet). Greens were in nice shape, void of divots and putting/chipping nicely. Always enjoy this course and today was no exception.

Played in a tournament here on 2/22/15. The course was in good shape. The greens were really good, but rolled slower than they looked. Tee boxes and fairways were in pretty good shape. Bunkers had thin sand in it, not bad, just thin. POP was not bad for a tournament.

OMG! It's been almost four years since I last played this course. I quit playing there because of the clientele and POP. It has not changed. I could only play the front nine and it took three hours! I teed off at 10:20 and didn't putt out until 1:20. UNACCEPTABLE! LA County needs to do something about POP. It's not all about money!

Played 10/26/14. Poor shape. Just aerated greens but did a poor job. Big holes, ball will bounce a lot. Fairways starting to look bad due to drought. Won't play here again unless I can get crazy ... Continue »

I played this morning and checked this site before I went and of course there was a green flag. And wouldn't you know I get there and they are aerating the entire front nine and a few holes on the back nine. Tee boxes were long and gnarly. They allow singles, twosomes out behind four and fives groups which slows everything down. No Marshall or cart girl. I only payed the senior rate so the $14 was about what it was worth.

Played this morning in 4 hours. Course is in good shape, though you can see that selective watering is being used, like many courses within the LA County system. Greens have not been punched yet and though some did have visible old divot marks, they held shots and rolled very well. Fairways were clean and providing good roll and tee boxes were clean and level. Course has an enjoyable mixture (IMO) of holes and I enjoy playing here occasionally, even though it is some what of a drive.

decided to give this course another try. well the front 9 were snail pace once again. don't know what it is and why the pace is so slow on the front. it's not difficult as the back 9. conditions were about the same as the first visit. some yellow patches here and there but it's the not course fault as California is in a drought stage. fairways were good and the rough is about 1-3", thick and it will "swallow" your ball (lost ball) and of course you really have to strike the ball to get out off. adding a bit more challenge to your game. tee boxes were leveled with exception of only a few there weren't. greens were soft, spongy, and slow. if i have to guess, it was about no more than 9.5 on the stim. after the turn, the pace picked up just like previous outing. however, i can't say enuf on the conditions of the green on the back 9. they were soft, spongy, lumpy and bumpy. it will make your ball verve off line even for a straight putt. i do understand our tee time was in the twilight hour and much foot traffic had gone thru but back 9 greens were in bad shape. i figured front 9 greens would be worst since most golfers play 9 holes during the twilight hour and mostly on the front 9. these were like "a tale of two cities", not the same up keep and conditions

Tee Time: May 26 @ 08:59 when i checked-in, starter told me it was 20-30 mins delay due to so-called Holiday golfers. in other words, bunch of hackers. and he was right, we were behind a 5-some with guys hitting 10-15yds each shot. horrible front nine pace. luckily, they left on the turn. the overall conditions was just decent. first time here and will be the last time i golf here. LA county muni courses are just not my cup of tea. greens were bumpy and slow. for the price this course charges, it's totally not worth it not to mention, we also got hit twice becuz the group from opposite did not know the meaning of "FORE" OR ANY MANNER

Played Friday 3/14/2014. Had a 8:28 tee time. Walked up to the started and put me with this 4sm. We played 18 in just over 4 hours course was in great shape, tee boxes where cut short, fairways had great roll, greens rolled true and quick. This place is not as packed as it use to be because. A lot of these older but not senior men where using fake senior IDs to get the discount rate and once the starter started checking for IDs all hell broke loose. So now they lost a lot of players because they can not get the discount rate. Works for I've walked on here on a Friday at 8 and gotten right now. Good for you La Mirada GC.
