Played Mountain Meadows today 12/19 9:30 tee time. We teed off 10 minutes early and finished in a bit over 4 hours playing as a fivesome. First of all the greens are some of the best I have seen in a long time. Fast but manageable. No noticeable ball marks anywhere. The sand was decent, And the fairways were very good with decent roll out and good cover. The rough wasn't too penal, All and all this course is in very good condition and fun to play. For as much play as this course gets it's in Great condition!!

Played MM late morning on 7/31 with a good friend and was out as a twosome as there was no one to be paired up with. It has been a couple of years since I last played here and was looking forward to it. A warm day and it moved a bit slow - 4.5 hours. The wait on the par 3’s was brutal , 3 groups backed up on each of the them. Ugh!

The course is in great condition however and not many browned out areas. A lot green out there so they must water regularly but the fairways are heavily “kikuyufied” (a new word) and even though cut down, not much roll out at all. Very soft fairways. I hit some good drives only to be disappointed when I arrived at the ball to see I didn’t get much distance. Good lies however. I can truly attest to the bunkers as I was in six of them! They were in good condition. A little damp/hard underneath but not hard to get out of. The rough was thick in some areas and you didn't want to be in there. No bueno!

The greens were in great condition , but they have always been good here. They rolled great. And not too many ball marks which is always nice to see.

Overall, I was impressed with this muni. Except for the wait on the par 3/s it was a great day. They have also done a nice upgrade in the restaurant. It’s now a restaurant with a full bar, numerous tv’s so I can see this making a big hit during football season. I would like to add MM to our rotation. Recommend!

Played Tues 8/26 8:45 tee time. Had breakfast there, good food, great service, decently priced. Been going there for years so the waitress knows and is friendly and courteous to everyone.

The Course - tee boxes in OK shape, par 3s take a beating. Fairways were nice, good roll, some brown and thin spots but otherwise good condition for a course that gets a lot of play. Rough was long and difficult to get out of so punch shot to get back into play for me. Bunkers had nice sand, greens were recently sanded so they played a bit quick, but were in nice shape with only a few ball marks. Had a slow 5some in front of us POP was 4hr 45min.

Played Mountain Meadows 6/21/2018 Ten fifteen tee time. Pace of play not terrible at 4 and a half hours. Greens were great, very few ball marks and fairly receptive to correctly hit pitches. Fairways were in good condition with a few thin spots but overall very nice. Rough is somewhat tough here, because when it gets thick you are lucky to punch it out. Sand was good to great (if sand can ever be called great.) But all bunkers had plenty of good fluffy sand. The only down side was that some of the tee boxes were very chewed up, especially the par threes. All and all a good county course that is in really nice shape for all of the rounds of golf played here.

5:45am tee time Monday, and to my surprise and delight, other than a threesome who had a 5:15 tee time, there was NOBODY there. I've played here enough to know how busy it can bee in the early morning, but not today, and I do not understand because the overall condition of the course might be the best I can ever recall.

Greens were nice, fairways also pretty good. Greenside bunkers were great, lots of well maintained sand. Rough and tee boxes good, not great.

Let me say that for $16.50 it's just a great deal, particularly when you can play without any wait on a nicely maintained course. The only thing I found unusual was that the ball did not seem to get much roll in the fairways. (?) Maybe I'm just losing even more distance because the course seemed to play longer than my memory served? Even so, great time and enjoyed the 2 1/2 hour stroll through the hills, enjoying the beautiful scenery.

POP was good, was back in the parking lot before noon. i was only walker in 4 some and we were behind a 4 some of riders, so we waited on the occasional shot but nothing too egregious. first time seeing the course, thought it was good not great. biggest issue w/ the LA/socal area true munis are the fairways, need more GUR marked spots or just better conditions. also found teeboxes here to be a bit unlevel (#2 comes to mind) and some markers were aligned well left or right of fairway. that could have been on purpose, but i doubt an american golf course would do that. walking rate was very fair and greens were very puttable. all in all decent experience but if im playing that early in that area, walking los serranos is better value IMO.

Greens were lush and held well struck shots, very few unfixed divots. Greens were bumpy and more than a few putts were knocked offline. They have a great email special. POP was a little under four hours.

Played 3-16-18 early morning as a single in a little under 2 hours in a cart for $32.99 on a TeeOff deal. Tee boxes were just okay with some being a little un-level and others having the grass a little to long. Fairways were in descent shape mostly green with some minor thin and brown spots. Rough was mostly in the 2 inch range with some spots being a little thin and some others areas being 3-4 inches and thick. Was in three bunkers, two fairway and one greenside all of which had nice white sand which was a little to soft for my liking in the fairways but really nice around the greens. Greens were in good shape rolling medium speed and semi-soft but mostly smooth. Overall course is in real nice shape and playing a little soft after all the rain.

Very impressed with Mountain Meadows today playing our GK Cup match today. After seeing so many local courses with dried out, brown fairways, the nice and lush green playing surface covering most of the course today was a pleasure to play. They got us out on time after a good warm-up on the range, and at around $50 I believe, absolutely worth the money. As I mentioned, the fairways and rough are in very good winter shape right now. Mostly all lies were great, and the rough was not too penal, cut just a bit longer than the fairways. There were a few thinner areas around the greens, and some muddy sections as well, but for the most part the course is in great shape in that arena. There was a big GUR section at the elbow on the 16th hole, but not much else in trouble besides that region. And if the fairways were in good shape, the greens were even better. They were very smooth and fast as can be - took a long time to get the speed right. They seemed to hold shots pretty well though, but I did not hit a lot of greens today. Rolled true and held their lines, but definitely some tough reads out there today. Still, great fun to play these greens. I was only in one bunker today but the sand was nice enough. I saw the others hitting plenty of sand shots all day and none had any complaints. If there was an area that could use some improvement, that was the tee boxes. A few a bit unlevel, but many that were chewed up pretty decently, but if that's the biggest problem with the course, you're still in for a good day. POP was right around five hours for the round. We definitely had some backups throughout the day, but it got much better on the back nine. We also saw the cart girl on the front nine, but never on the back. Not a big deal. It was such a nice day that we hardly noticed the time passing by. The layout at Mountain Meadows is also really fun. A lot of challenging, narrow tee shots with hills and valleys to gobble up any shots off the mark, but ample opportunity to save a lot of those shots out of some pretty dodgy areas though. The course stays compact on the front nine but then gets more open on the back as you go up and down the mountainside. Definitely a few quirky holes here, but for the most part just good, solid holes that require your best to be on target. And did I mention what a perfect, sunny and non-windy day it was? We had the funny cars drag racing nearby, and some nice vintage WWII fighter planes flying overhead, but that just kind of added to the fun. I would most definitely recommend Mountain Meadows right now if you're tired of seeing brown fairways and overpaying for them at 'ritzier' courses than this one.
