An easy but a lazy hot Sunday free time gave me the opportunity to visit Mountain Meadows for the first time. My round of 18 holes cost $47 to ride- (walk on- no reservation).

Staff were friendly- they even gave me a yardage book. The beverage cart came around twice making sure the golfers had options to order something.

Oh, but the round took very long- a threesome and a twosome in front of me and no one in front of the threesome for many holes (4 maybe). I understand no one wants to let a single go through, but four hours and forty-five minutes mostly waiting, my fun meter was at zero.

The course was in good shape as far as protecting from the heat. The fairways were like a first/primary cut it was thick but lush. The greens looks good in color from a distance but were very slow. The bunkers- the three I was in were okay. The teeing grounds were acceptable with long grass and good coverage. Practically the course had good grass coverage. Most their surrounding grass including the rough were kikuyu. They were pretty tall and spongy but it's so healthy the ball mostly sits on top although it still makes it difficult to play from because the ball moves from club contact on grass.

It wasn't a bad day at all.

As a first timer, I find this course to be short and tight in some holes, but it is just fun to play.

Played MM at the beginning of the heat wave. It got up to 101 degrees today. But it was worth it. The course is in excellent condition and they have some promo going on at $31.99 with cart and free soft drink. Greens were running fast and fairways were in good shape. We teed of at 11am and it was pretty open. POP was 4 hours or less. Overall a great experience however will look for a 6am teetime next time to avoid the heat.

Played with my monthly group at (supposedly) 9am on a warm, sunny Saturday, 5/4/19. Course was packed and overbooked as we teed off 45 minutes late, then struggled thru a 6-hr(!) round. MM is probably in the best shape I've ever seen it after this winter's rains. Landing areas are more receptive, rough around the edges of the course doesn't allow errant shots to run forever into oblivion on dry hard ground, and greens are receptive, although still quick. Fairway lies are fairly tight but mostly good. There are scattered bare areas throughout the course. Tees were flat and in good shape, except for the white teebox on #13, which is lumpy and uneven. Rough is fairly low and benign unless you get well off the line of play, and can then be thick and juicy. Sand was in god condition, a little damp but with good playing depth. Greens were uniformly very good, with no bare spots and consistent coverage, semi-firm but receptive, rolling at a medium+ pace. A couple of major changes (since I last played here) on holes on the back nine substantially change the approach and difficulty of those holes. On the par-5 11th, which wraps severely left around a tree-covered hillside, several large trees have been removed along the left side. Although blind, the drive is much more open along the left and amenable to a bold drive along the treeline, with the slope then moving the ball to the right. The second shot, uphill to a perched green, is also wide open with the removal of a couple of large trees that were about 125 yards out - the hole is now a realistic 2-shotter for the longer hitter. On the par-4 18th, a tree/bunker combination along the right side, in the landing area of tee shots, has been removed. The tree/sand previously constricted the landing area and made this closing hole very challenging - now it's a much more wide-open short par-4. Adequate water available. We saw a cart girl several times. "Marshals" generally rode around not interacting with players. Range on good quality mats. Putting green doubles as a chipping green and has taped "putting course" laid out on it to further interfere with warmups. Recommended in current condition, but the shop doesn't care how long it takes you, so be aware.

A few days late but here it is. Played Friday April 19th with a tee time at 2:22. Checked in with at the golf shop at 1:50 with a rate of 22 dollars (players club) rate which includes a drink, can't beat it. Here's the kicker, we ended up having to wait over a half hour for our carts and we were a 5 some. They had double booked tee times so the other group waiting along with us had the same tee time as we did. We didn't end up teeing off till 2:45. The whole rest of the round was a hurry up and wait situation, 2-3 groups waiting on the tee. It was a long horrible experience which I've never experienced here. It is American golf and they like to cram as many tee times in as possible but never this bad. Well anyways, on to the course conditions. Overall it was pleasant but the greens were really bumpy and thick. Understandable as they were punched not too long ago. Biggest issue was the ball marks. Why is it so hard for people to fix their ball marks. I repaired 11 ball marks on one green, unbelievable.... fairways were nice and rough was playing at it's normal thickness. Bunkers were nice as well with ample amounts of sand and pretty fluffy. Overall it was a frustrating day but still better than being at work. They have to do a better job with their managing and booking issues IMO.

6:15am tee time Monday. While busy, it was not crazy like it can be. We were the third group off, but played without waiting. (We were walking - everyone else had carts) Finished in 3 hours 15 minutes. To our delight, no issues with back nine play.

The greens have not yet healed from the recent punching. Still somewhat sandy and not to smooth, but still playable. Another couple weeks and they should be fine. Fairways were the best part of the course by far. I was in three bunkers and all had plenty of sand and were well maintained. A few of the tee boxes had issues (divots and not level) but maybe I was just to lazy to re-tee?

Fun course to play. The views are great, the variety of the holes is what makes it good, not just a "back & forth flat layout" Holes are all different, with plenty of elevation changes, which makes for a tougher walk for us seniors. Best part - $16.50 what a steal !

Walked on as a single on Friday morning. Joined by another single. Course was very crowded and waited on every shot. Course is very green and soft. Tee boxes were level and filled in. Fairways were very soft and probably should have been cart path only. 14 was CPO and 15 is normally a par 5 was shortened into a par four because the landing area was too muddy. Had to be careful when walking through the rough because grass was very tall and mostly very wet. Balls plugged a couple times. Greens were in very good shape with little divot damage. POP was over five hours. Love the layout but POP makes for a long day and hard to get into a rhythm.

Played here on Saturday, 2/9, in Team Play. it was pouring rain on the way to the course and raining steadily when we got there. Nonetheless, we were told we were playing. The putting green was virtually unputtable (top corner allowed some putts) and the driving range was closed until we teed off. It stopped raining on number 2 or 3 and had pretty good weather the rest of the round. it ended up being a 5 hour round as it was cart path only and there was quite a bit of searching for balls.

The good - The greens were really fast and rolled great, both when wet and after drying out. The sand was great also (much better than this time last year) although compacted from the rain.

The okay - The fairways were for the most part okay with pretty good hitting surfaces. They have not been able to mow and in some parts it was tough to tell where the rough ended and the fairway began. The rough was pretty low and not a factor although there was some really thick junk in areas, hence the searching. It was tough to find balls in those areas. The tee boxes were a mixed bag with some sloping but I was always able to find a flat area.

The bad - The 14th and 15th fairways were so bad that they had a marshal out there helping people find balls on 15 and directing them on 14. Roughly 70-80 percent of the fairway on 14 was roped off and had standing water throughout, which is amazing considering how sloped it is. All of 15's fairway was roped off up to near the green. My teammate lost his ball in an area where it had to have plugged so deep it was gone. I could feel the ground shifting under my feet as we looked for his ball. The fairway was not mowed, needless to say.

Great service, especially in the coffee shop. I'll come back when it dries out.

Went out to Mountain Meadows with a friend on 1/28 with a 6:52 tee time. A little earlier than we normally go out and on a cool, cloudy morning, not too many folks out there. Off pretty much on time following a 2 some and being followed by another 2 some. Nice pace out there on this day. Walked it in about 3:20. We’re bringing in MM as part of our rotation now as we enjoy the lay out.

Not much to add from my last review except the fairways were a bit more chewed up. Tee boxes were are beat up as well. Looks like the rain we had still had an impact. Many roped off areas that were very damp and muddy. You could see where people ran their carts through the wet area tearing up portions of the fairway, particularly on the back where there is some steep hills. Disappointing actually to see as it will take a while to heal and the forecast Is calling for more rain. Bunkers still in great shape with good, firm sand.

The greens however are still in great shape. Ran a little bit faster than the last time. Had a couple of 3 putts as many of my putts ran past the hole.

Conditions not as good as the last time I was here which was only about a month ago but I still think playing here is worth it.

Played here Monday 1/14 in pouring down rain. In fact, my friend and I were the only ones on the entire course! So pace of play did not exist. We were absolutely soaked. I can only review the greens on the front 9 and they were great! Everything rolled true. Greens on the back had puddles forming on them so cant say much about them. Fairways were choppy and tee boxes weren't very level. You can tell they hadn't been moved in awhile. Sand traps were like gravel because of the rain. Fun around overall and love the layout of the course just not fun when you are drenched in water and walking through mud to hit your ball.
